The right-wing will always try to find something to use on Obama. These guys were already scared of the possibility of a President Obama that they made up their own lies to prove whatever point they had. Obama will have no choice but to become one of the most sqeaky-clean Presidents in history. The neocons will spend the next 4-8 years like the prowling lions in the Book of Proverbs.

"The right-wing will always try to find something to use on Obama."

I think they're more comfortable with fabrications and innuendo. Just look at all the posts here. It's the same old gibberish that existed during the campaign.

  • Posted By: jalee @ 12/12/2008 1:07:12 PM

This was most entertaining! I think the author needs to go back and look at how Barrack Obama got elected in Illinois to the state office and then to the US Senate. You need all the facts to really understand how his "rise to power" occurred. This is absolutely one of the most misleading articles I have read!

  • Posted By: SeeingTheLight @ 12/12/2008 12:33:56 PM

Is this article supposed to be satirical? Or is it simply that those who hopped on board the Messiah wagon cannot come to terms with the reality of who Obama is: a trumped-up Oz with the entire Chicago machine operating behind the curtain. You were hornswoggled by nothing more than a snake-oil salesman who can read a good speech. HOPE & CHANGE = SMOKE & MIRRORS. Nothing more, nothing less.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/12/2008 3:45:10 PM

He wrote the two best books by any president or candidate I've read. Perhaps you prefer to remain ignorant.

What Blagojevich tells us about Obama's ethics is the same as Wright told us and Rezko told us and Ayers told us. His standards are exceedingly low and if they were better, his media helpers wouldn't have to circle their wagons every few months to assure one and all that Obama doesn't share the proclivities of his...ahem...associates

  • Posted By: redhouse387 @ 12/12/2008 11:17:49 AM

Obama is guilty, but thank you for helping us look the other way. We do not want to believe it.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/12/2008 3:35:56 PM

      "Obama is guilty"

Of what, precisely? Other than your need to see him as so without and facts to prove anything? Or should I just disregard what Fitzgerald said and take your word for it?

  • Posted By: Keith Webb @ 12/12/2008 3:25:57 PM

Harry Truman and OB should not be in the same paragraph. It is too early to speculate that OB is a Chicago 'Good Guy'. Nearly seems like an oxymoron. speaking of morons, newsweek has done it again. You guys cpuldn't report a straight story if it caved in on your desks...The fallout of the dems is going to mae GOP look atleast better if not wonderful

  • Posted By: GreatOz @ 12/11/2008 10:20:30 PM

How could he possibly have known all of these slime balls for all of these years and then claim that he had no clue they were this way? Either he is a complete moron or he is one of them. Either way he shouldn't be running the country.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/11/2008 10:45:34 PM

Did you see the recent AP article about all the many millions paid to McC's campaign manager Rick Davis and others to lobby Rs against regulation of mortgages, including while Davis was his manager? I'll post the link if you will read it.

      • Posted By: Inthewind @ 12/12/2008 8:46:04 AM

Why is it people like you always seem to have some sort of "School yard" comeback when someone says something that actually strikes a chord about Obama? Is it to try to deflect the attention from the guilty party? If you would sit down and take an educated look at some of the associations he has had in the past and some of his shady dealings with those associations, maybe you would get a clue instead of trying to say "At least he's not as bad as the other guy". Gimme a break.

        • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/12/2008 3:13:19 PM

"School yard"? The post to which I responded was about guilt by association, a recurring theme of Rs. I think it apropos to suggest they look at real facts about their own circumstances before they cast aspersions on others. Perhaps that was too subtle for you, so you came at me with your best. I have looked closely. In fact, it was all the lies and innuendo that caused me to take a close look, and see what I really wished weren't true about my own party. As to your continuation of the old guilt by association innuendo, you ensure that you remain trapped in your own losing approach.

What is it about Blago that strikes a chord on Obama? Fitzgerald has commented. He pulled no punches on the Scooter case. As a prosecutor in a republican administration, he is not likely to be doing anything other than calling things as he sees them. I see no basis to presume otherwise.

I expect Fitzgerald has looked more closely than you. You're just hoping and revealing your bias.

          A 40 year republican

Someone named barak hussein obama is an insult to all americans. Balck, white or yellow I don't care it is the fact the his name is 'so in your face america' that it make me sick that american's have so quickly forgotten sept. 11, 2001. I'm not saying this president had anything to do with that but boy they are force feeding this guy and we are so numb we don't even care. I find it ironic that he barak hussein obama won the elcetion by saying Bush failed. Then americans see fit to replace Bush with person whose name is so close to 2 arch rivals of america that Bush saved our country from. Nice repayment america. Insult, insult, insult. By the way all presidents have been referred to by their 3 initials(GWB, FDR, JFK). this is strickly forbidden in the bho presidency. Ask youself why that is....Then figure out if we really had anything to do with who became president.

Good guess. It's certain to take more than four years, maybe lots more, to get us out of all the serious problems we have now.

Really! His mother and father named him! Should he just lay down and die from it?! Does he have nothing to contribute because of it?! How ultterly ignorant!! It is this kind of small minded, backward ignorance that has us where we are today.

I suggest that people like you wise up and realize the election spoke of a new america where people are really swayed by this kind of crap. Remember all of that stuff didn't work. People's 401Ks, loss of jobs, failing mortages--now that counts. It's unfortunate we have to get to this place to get beyond petty. You would think your kind would have learned that . Get a grip--we're not listening. And we vote, contribute and there's a new sheriff in town and his name is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!

  • Posted By: Alpena Bob @ 12/11/2008 8:15:32 PM

In view of the way that the main stream media covered the Presidential race, and gave a free pass to Mr. Obama, the comments of this article do not impress me nor are they to be relied upon. The news media should be put in the same category as Illinois politics - In that round contraption in the bathroom with a handle on the tank.

Let's see, Nixon howled that it all was a plot of the left-wing MSM. Hillary called it a vast right wing conspiracy. The Rs cried that the election was stolen by the rad-lib media. Anybody got a sheet of new music?

I love it when an educated democrat (sanstov952) speaks out. It sure is a true testament to the caliber of individuals that went along with the plan to lie and deny to get Obama into the white house. I saw that the production of blinders went up considerably before the election. I bet it would be safe to say that you think all your troubles are over once he gets in to office, don't you...? I guess time will tell. As for you telling people to leave the country...I happen to think he is going to be BADBADBAD for this country. Are you going to tell me to leave as well? I have 3 tours in Iraq and currently I'm 70% disabled by the VA. Think I'm entitled to my opinion?? Or should I leave as well?

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion and, even though I think the all-caps person is speaking like a fool AND I'm not a democrat nor will I ever be, you really have the Bush admin. to thank for your current situation. The war is based on lies by the Bush admin. and documentation abounds to prove it. Obama has done a good job of picking his advisors so far and the fact that Blago cussed him for not playing the Chicago politics game is a good vote for Obama.

So because he was linked to several corrupt political figures that means he must be the exact oposite. LOL I still have yet to hear how he baught a 2 million dollar house with a twelve thousand dollar a year salary. Just as during the election he is free from media scrutiny because of his Black Democrat costume

          • Posted By: Shanshayla @ 12/11/2008 9:47:46 PM

Heisman. hmm... OJ had one of those (til he had to sell it)... have you seen his new digs? So much for that "prestige."

And the election? Obama did have a little help when he flipped on his public/private money thing... out spending McCain in some places 7 to 1. Then there's the nice bias media leg up... anyway running an election is nothing like running a country, even without all the help he had.

            • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/11/2008 9:57:58 PM

The prestige is to be the president of the Harvard Law Review. I was just trying to make it easy for you to grasp.

Keep working on your recurring theme of 'guilt by association'. Kinda like polishing a turd, though.

It is funny how much I hear Bush supporters say "your Messiah" when making soem off hand comment.

Yes Obama is the Messiah in a sense of politics. So many had so much fatigue of Bush that they were praying for relief, and Obama stepped into the void. So yes, when you say he is somebod's Messaih, you are partly true in the sense that our country needed to be saved from Bush/Cheney.

The irony of it is Bush was so inept that it left such a huge void for anybody that offered a change from the distruction of us as a country. Bush supporters, those people that live in denial do not see that. They blame the press, and everything else, but should blame themselves and their leader. He was way in over his head from thevery beginning. Tried to act the tough guy on campus, and turned out to be the short man with a complex who makes mistakes based on his insecurities and his issues about his father.

Many of the diehard Bush supporter's bar is so low in what they accept for the qualifications for president. Let's see, "kind of like one of us", " wants to overturn RoevWade", "talks tough", "is a Christian", "will stack the SCourt with political leaners'. Unfortunately you can pull just about anybody off the street or even out of a cardboard box with those qualifications.

BHO OBVIOUSLY knew what was going on even if he didn't participate.

If you are aware of blatant criminal activity, or even intent to commit a crime, there are federal and state laws that require you to report it. (Not to mention that it's the right thing morally!)

It's the same as if you witnessed a burglary. Or you knew someone was talking about commiting burglary.

But if BHO witnessed a burglary at your house, he wouldn't report it.

Let's see, the media continually pressed the US Attorney as to Barack Obama's involvement. In response to a barrage of questions, Fitzgerald gave his response that Obama was not involved. Please, please explain to me how that could ever be construed as "It was no accident that U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald went out of his way to say Obama was not implicated in any way."

Trying to create something out of nothing is an old media trick, as every wannabe journalist is hoping he or she is the next Watergate reporter to scoop the world.

Get a life and quit trying to read something into a scenario that simply did not exist.
