I'm glad that this subject is being discussed. I have struggled with anorexia and binge eating for a number of years and the holidays are always particularly hard. It takes a lot of effort to enjoy oneself, one's family, and the food, without the food becoming the overwhelming focus. I've learned to try to enjoy the special foods without going completely overboard. Most people don't understand just how difficult and stressful the holidays can be for those with eating disorders, and how holidays can become major triggers for unhealthy behavior. Be kind and try to be understanding!
