    TRUST !

There are those that have honesty and conviction.

There are those that have no honesty and deserve conviction.

Those who challenge the validity of Barack Obama???s natural born citizenship and/or try to connect him and/or his staff to the Illinois governor???s problems not only demonstrate an avoidance of being rationally honest and a total absence of any mature recognition of reality but also display a desperation fed by a blind and irresponsible bias which neglects accepting that every indication to date is the Barack Obama team being assembled gives us real hope for overcoming the drastic, reckless and self-indulgent behavior that has resulting in the current severe problems created by the neoconservative focus over the last eight years. Extreme conservatism, including the ???trickle down??? rationalization, has much the same characteristics as is found in illegal pyramid schemes. They are equal in that only a few people really benefit, that they are driven by self-interests, are infected with greed and dishonesty, are promoted by attraction to people???s self-interests and greed, and depend on taking advantage of the majority. The fraud they can perpetrate results in the collapse of the infected systems (as seen in corporate corruption, Wall Street meltdown, financial industry meltdown, auto industry collapse, religious extremism,,,) and can eventually even bring down the total economy (what we are close to today). Without the regulations, enforcement, controls, checks and balances needed to keep aggressive conservative methodology from being the run-away service of the powerful few, greed, dishonesty and self-indulgence naturally take over. As long as the focus is on total deregulation, completely open and fair-trade markets and on the unchecked pursuit of benefit for Special Interests and a select few, without real protection, consideration and concern for the majority, the natural result will be what we are experiencing today. This criticism is neither liberal thinking advocating a large ???tax and spend??? government giving to a dependent population nor is it advocating protectionism but rather is pragmatism, is simply recognizing the reality that demands moderate conservative/liberal positions and a centrist thinking that actually benefits everyone. The other choice is to continue down the road we have been on, with only very costly temporary delays, ending eventually in catastrophe.

Jimbo - boy you sure sound like you fit the bush supporter profile, is it wrong to criticize your country? Your so patriotic yet fail to realize that true American patriotism rests in the ability of a free press to report on doings of the government and the power of the citizens to criticize and yes cover your ears , hate their own government. Maybe thanks to the NY times report the soldier???s armor will be upgraded? If it wasn???t for the public blemish the government would have let the troops fight without adequate protection. So who???s the criminal?

Did we win the cold war Billy Bob? Is it really that simple and black and white? Look at the lasting result we are still dealing with it today - Al Qaeda, Mujadijin etc...

Jimbo is an idiot Moron mouthpiece for the repubs. He has no clue what patriotism is and is a poser and not a real american.

And with that one act, John Ashcroft wiped the slate clean.

I'm impressed. I didn't think he had it in him.

Does FREEDOM of SPEECH give the American government the right to do illegal stuff to its citizens ?

Why ! Does our military spend time training its troops to go door to door in urban environment ?

Why ! Did GEORGE BUSH support Washington D.C. ban on handguns in homes ?

Why ! Are Americans being taxed to death to make Rich even Richer.

Why ! Are tax dollars being used to protect sinking ships, banks, credit card companies, etc. ?

What happens when only the few can afford food, water, shelter, air, etc. ?

    GAME OVER --------------- B A N K R U P T !

Thank god Bush will be leaving the white house soon, but not soon enough.. Eight years of Bush/Cheney has almost destroyed this country in every way >> morally, financially and even in ways we don't even know about yet. Let us hope President Obama can clean up some of the Mess left behind by Bush and his fellow criminals.

The President-elect taught Constitutional Law for ten years. That alone reassures me.

I am grateful that it happened and appalled that it was necessary. I am deeply grateful that our next President is a Constituional scholar.

    DOMESTIC SPYING !

Americans being accused, harrassed, intimidated by U.S. Government.

    WHY ?

    To suppress FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

GOVERNMENT by the RICH for the RICH.

WHEN the FEW have all the chips, When everyone else is in debt, When most have got to borrow to stay in the game.

    The game will end ---------------- B A N K R U P T !

    GEORGE BUSH ----- His major donor = Credit Card issuer M B N A .

M B N A wrote legislation to prevent Americans from declaring bankrupcy.

George Bush signed it into law.

Consumers offered credit cards and loans that Credit Card Issuers know they can;t pay back.

Consumers borrowing more to pay off greater debt.

It seems that the activities were illegal . If the SW program was completely legal then there would be no reason for Bush to push for legislation insulating and protecting the companies that assisted in the "Domestic Wire Taps." Everyone knew it was illegal. Why does NW continue to soft pedle the criminals.

NJimbo-- You misread the article and comprehended poorly. The collection of data was *domestic* and internal within the US and so, therefore, illegal or, by Bush's actions, quasi-legal. It was, in other words, spying and data collecting on us. If you can't understand, pay attention and layoff the sanctimony on "left-wingers." Those you ridicule believe in guarding our own freedom.

Heading down a very dangerous path. Who's to gaurantee ONLY overseas calls are monitored? Very fine line there.
If this were a power given to a sane President, with only OUR best interests at heart, it might not be so bad. But him?
Frying pan or the fire anyone?
