Compulsive shoppers never seem to stop no matter who it hurts. Unless they have friends and family that will help manage their shopping nature and only allot money when needed, these people will never stop their bad habbits. If you're going to spend then you might as well save when doing it. There are sites like FollowThatPackage.com or MarioBadescuDryingLotion.com that offer discounts on things to purchase since we obviously know these people are going to be buying thing anyway

Compulsive behavior never seems to end for anyone who has this problem. There is no great solution to stopping it unless they have a spouse or friend willing to help them control it, not fix it, but even so, those who need to shop will figure out how to do it regardless. If you're going to do it, might as hit sites like FollowThatPackage.com or MarioBadescuDryingLotion.com and save money if you're going to spend it anyway

Most of the time when a person who engages in compulsive behavior doesn't address the underlying cause - fear, grief, shame - that person will continue to have obsessive thoughts about the behavior, eventually leading back to acting out the compulsive behavior.

People who use shopping as a mood elevator may be able to moderate their behavior - for a while - but eventually they will go back to compulsive shopping - or substitute another behavior.

People with a true shopping addiction will continue their habits unchanged regardless of the economic conditions - just like unemployed alcoholics still drink, unemployed nicotice addicts still smoke, anorexics who are dying of starvation still are unable to eat, and compuslive gamblers in thousands of dollars of debt still gamble.

It's called an addiction because you can't stop without help or at least a huge life-changing event. The economy doesn't change anything.

Yes there may be a biit of a downturn in shipping, but I think you will find there is an increase in smaller ticket items. People are downsizing but not completely closing their wallets!
