Being myself from Somali back ground, I feel sorry for those pirats. It seems as if they're traumatized by African tradition ( Ethnicity ) & Arab culture ( Rligion ). They need medical treatement and not manipulation by some western power ( may be the CIA ) Because their piracy action bringing some result is biyound some Somali Baboon'scapacity.

We all know the adage "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer", but translated to December 2008, the rich are
wearker and the poor are getting bolder. I dont know exactly what it is like to live in the shanty villages of Somalia, but I can imagine.....I just know to read in between the lines and not become obsessed with the words on the lines....America has witnessed HISTORICAL changed because the PEOPLE exercised the right to vote...Even Madoff with all his 50 billion pilferage or, Chicago Governor Rod Blagojevich grew "weaker" from the abuse of power....the Somalians are getting "bolder"...they are sick and tired of being "poor"....they are hungry!

In a world that is full of political appartions and confused manifestations of diplomatic abracadabra, the threat to some poor underdeveloped, war-ravaged folks' means of livelihood can not elicit sufficient concern for them to have a voice in the gathering of the big, over-bloated designers of world architectural landsacpe until these same disenfranchised persons have taken up arms and have dorned on the garb of 21st century pirates and taken to pillaging and plundering booties on the high seas. The truth of the matter is that the Africa continent is a huge land mass of dumping ground for all kind of stuff from nuclear wastes to untested genocidal military weaponry and whenever a group of Africans decide to cry out by whatever means they deem fit, the world label them in unworthy nomenclatures. I think it is high time we confront the real issues:- first world -inspired economic underdevelopment, imposition of corrupt and morally bankrupt leadership on the common people, environmental degradation, mass illiteracy, poor sanitation, balkanization of native communities in the name of nation state formation, internal displacement of natural populations to satisfy global approval and other such disapprovingly unnatural manipulation of the African people over the recent century.

SA: This is why "ALL" countries in this world today, without a doubt, need to take part and get involved, period. Terrorism is a world issue, not just a country. No need to get into detail of their practices either. It's the terrorist our world does not want to gain access to nuclear weapons. They've achieved much already. And it boils down to all the hard work your parents, your grandparents, your greatgrandparents; including mine who came over from Canada and Italy amongst other places, worked very hard for us to be where our country is today. And yet it can all be taken away in the blink of an eye by these pshyco terrorists.

If the truth must be told, those who know it understand that so much injustice is being done to underdeveloped African nations with the connivance of the corrupt and morally bankrupt elite and that the state of instability, hunger, illiteracy and disease pervading the continent is just a further attempt to undermine meaningful development for greater control and continued exploitation of the poor masses. Shall we say then that these "somali pirates do not have valid reasons for taking up arms" though they have chosen the way of piracy rather than some other form of militancy against the "axis of evil " who are threatening their very existence?

GUYGUY: Again, support immediately should cease from all ends, including our government providing the resources. Hell, I remember my great uncle who was in the Korean war and WWII telling me stories about our participation. It's time to be rid of the "OLD" mentality and move forward in a better process. B/c obviously, our tactics have not helped matters in the past centuries of fighting.

Has anybody ever seen the Somalians here in America? There genetics are very distinguishing looking and, more important, they are religious and industrious hard working people. Personally, I don't condone stealing something of value "behind someone's back". The individual somalians who opted for the way of Piracy lifestyle, perhaps have become so brazen in efforts to "cry out" to humanity of the suffering taking place in Somalia. Why else would a
so-called bonafide criminal element expose himself and others to the world? Real gangster elements work in silence...this small ban of somalians have exposed the dilemmas in their country and it is up to the United Nations
to come up with a viable solution...to the so-called Evil Solution.
