Lol this is B.S... first of all I am Somali and I know for sure we don't have wolves in Somalia and we don't drink alcohol period!... Its like an Iranian newspaper stating that a bunch of train robbers in Texas reported they got high of smoking sheesha pipe and like a crazy pack of camels stormed a train... I think this interview is fake period...Evil huh loool

Unfortunately, too many people all around the world will read this article and believe every word of it....

I would love to see any American with their back against the wall, stomach eating at itself, no opportunity for earning a living for yourself or your family - and see what you turn to. This article tries it's damndest to paint the pirates as lawless men. They are victims. Victims of colonization, genocide, slavery, and every other awful thing that rich whites do to people of color all around the globe. WAKE UP PEOPLE OF THE PLANET!!! Taking advantage of those that have little means to defend themselves is wrong and will always be. You reap what you sew. The Somalis are reacting in a violent way to the violence they have been subjected to. How many times will you let a man slap you in the face before you hit back. I don't know about you - but I can only turn the other cheek twice before I decide something else needs to be done.

    • Posted By: LJTI10 @ 12/23/2008 2:28:44 PM

YP: I hear you. And yes, we don't realize the conditions and what our reactions would be, I suppose. But it all goes back to standing up for what's right. Havoc only begets havoc. No two ways around it. If I were in this country, I w/b the one to stand up, demand and take note and create the new movement within our own country.

And trust me honey, I personally have had to turn the other cheek MANY, MANY times ~ as well as getting knocked down in the process. However, I stand right back up, a little slower now that age has set in, but brush my pants off and ready to battle once again. Whatever the battle must be.

      Take care of yourself.

      Linda in Alaska!

You bleeding hearts are so stupid.Put two Phalanx chain gun systems on fore and aft sections of the ship.Anything that gets within two miles without permission dies, end of story. No taking prisoners.Shoot them immediately and be done with it.Honestly, you left wing idiots need to go show the pirates how to die properly.Maybe then we can have adequate target practice on the rest of the genetic failures out there.
Long live the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Death to the infidel midle east!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: LJTI10 @ 12/23/2008 2:16:31 PM

BN: I read you loud and clear. The point here is for us all to "do the right thing". It is a jungle out there, no doubt. But it's the people like you/me/we and us that can finally stand up for what's right, regardless of what actions took place in the past between our then world leaders.

And going under? Hell, no. You know, I was put on this planet for a reason and life has way too much to offer. I will allow no "one" individual or individuals to deter me from my purpose.

When feeling like letting go ~ hang on!

Happy Holiday Season to you ;-)

Brand Nubian's comment is an example of why this article, American journalism, and Americans in general are their own worst enemy. Any discussion/dialogue focusing on understanding these pirates will eventually turn them into victims; of poverty, government, etc. Soon it will be America's fault, or at least our responsibility to clean up. I don't care about the "how" or "why" of what these people are doing. They are nothing more than murderous cowards and should be executed the moment they are encountered. Even calling them pirates affords some small amount of story book-protagonist hero status. Call them what they are and treat them accordingly. Most important, no quarter shall be given until they self govern enough to stop these attacks.

This is all a lie!!!...I am somali and I know for a fact there are no wolves in Somalia and they don't drink alcohol!... its like an Iranian newspaper claiming that train robbers in Texas got high of sheesha and like a pack of crazy kangaroos stormed the train... this is out of control.

LJ, your nobel ideas unfortunately became stagnated when the US invaded Iraq on the notion that country harbored weapons of mass destruction. Besides, kindly ask the current Chicago Governor for his views on changing an inherently imperfect world. Change only comes when you/me/we/us do so within...but as for the real world, it's a jungle sometimes and sometimes even I wonder how I keep from going under!

BRAND NUBIAN: CRIME DOES NOT PAY. People of this planet need to reach correctible solutions, not just add more turmoil to what's already there. Their life situation is a sad situation. However, WE MUST BE THE CHANGE IN THE WORLD WE WANT, period. And it starts with each and every one of us.

The crime they continually practice effects "us all" world wide, and think not... as well as affecting FUTURE generations to in the many, many years to come.

    TECHNOLOGY: You got it!

The irony these pirates create is that they claim they just want a stable gov't and a prosperous country, but yet when they plunder cargo ships and cruise ships they discourage foreign investment in places like Somalia because it is seen as "risky" investment, and law-abiding traders will avoid Somalia or else risk being captured by pirates and having their cargo stolen and then have to pay millions in ransom which will only help make Somalia an even poorer and more unstable country. If these crooks took their fighting to their ineffective gov't or lack there-of maybe they could work to make their country better instead of hoping that robbing others will somehow fix all their problems. As the saying goes, "crime doesn't pay"

Let's get this technically, or rather, politically straight. The Pirates obtain the alcohol and rocket propelled grenades by consignment....then, test the ballistics and consume some alcohol before heading out to sea to raise the bounty to pay off the bills. Such is the life of a hu$tler.

  • Posted By: LJTI10 @ 12/23/2008 1:29:02 PM

Bottom line here is that "corruption" at every level must cease. Some say it can't be done, however we all know differently. You cannot repay evil with evil, case closed. I truly feel for these individuals, but they're thought process is WAY OFF kilter. These people need to come together and incorporate a better government for themselves and the many generations of them to follow hereafter, period. And this piracy issue is a "world wide issue" ~ involving all countries on this planet. All leaders of all countires need to come together and demand resolvement.

The piracy is terrorism. And should be treated as such.

TAKE HEED: It's the terrorist groups our world does not want to have nuclear arms within their reach and control. It will be these individuals that will end up, most likely, blowing up our world.

SO PIRATES... there are so many other avenues to be explored for your country, and yet you choose the things that you've accomplished thus far, and continue creating and maintaining the dysfunction and distruction to your own realm.

    GOD BLESS our world!

Let's get it technically, or rather, politically correct...The Pirates get the alcohol and rocket propelled grenades on consignment, then go to sea to raise the bounty to pay the bills. Such is the life of a hustler.

The only thing these animals understand is evil, he said it himself blow the ass holes out of the water or we will all suffer. The longer they feel they are in power of any kind the more we are all at risk. The whole world is in a downward spiral and the Demacrats or not going to help.

    • Posted By: TECHNOLOGY @ 12/23/2008 1:20:29 PM

Exactly, from the interview the piirate seems convinced that nobbody can harm them as if they are gods. Send a battleship out there and see how godly they are after a few rounds from one of those. Of course i would only accept that as an option if they didn't have hostages, but if they don't blast the idiots out of the water.

  • Posted By: TECHNOLOGY @ 12/23/2008 1:14:30 PM

So let me get this straight. They have enough money to buy rocket propelled grenades and alchohol to get themselves drunk before they go looting but not enough to live a "normal" life?

  • Posted By: corinnem01 @ 12/23/2008 12:46:22 PM

This is the only way for these people to survive. I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing. I'm surprised we don't hear of more deaths associated with their hostages. They really aren't hurting alot of people in my eyes. Somalia does need a government. This man is talking about a strong gorvernment they need just a non-corrupt government to begin with. If anyone cares I am truly tired of all of the fighting, war, poverty, sue happy and evil things in this world and it is people with money and in powerful positions who feed off of the misery of us "normal" people who bare the emotional toll of all of the hatefulness in the world. I am tired of it all and if I didn't have a daughter I would probably leave this earth...

To Obgynluke... your big words won't save you from this one. You spelled completely, completly. Typical.

    • Posted By: obgynluke @ 12/23/2008 12:36:53 PM

my mistake is a simple typo, something that is caused by trying to multitask a response to a post, read other things and do my work at the same time; and i didnt proof read. However, my grasp of the english language is realtively satisfactory, and that cant be undetermined based simply on the absence of an "e" in completely. I dont comment on people's obvious typographical mistakes, nor do i comment on simple spelling errors, doing so is irrelevant.

my response was due to the poster's repeated misuse and mispellings of the same words and overall slaughter of english language fundamentals. like i said, he may have had something intelligent to say, but his thoughts were lost in his lack of grammatical understanding. however, your attempt to undermine my response due to a typo shows your pettiness and desire to validate yourself beyond even a basic understanding of what the overall issue was.. Either that, or you knew the difference between both senarios, but you felt the need to comment anyway...possibly to boost your low self worth.

      Typical.
