    OIY VEY,,,, I am astouded at what I`m reading,, I`m not american,, and I live elswhre on the planet,, I visit there at least twice a year to see family,, but everytmie i do I get sickened by this exact same , across the board bigotry,, what does it matter if Obama is black , white or green,, what does it matter if he is muslim christian, hindue, jewish?? ~~ As a matter of fact,, Muslims beleive in the jesus christ /christian story,,~~ and often follow the christs teachings more closely than many christians do,,!! I`m not talking of the fanatics in islam,, any more than I am talking about the fanatics in christianity,,,, these extremists exhist in all belief systems where EGO has become dominant,,, The rest of the world is breathnig a huge sigh of relief at Obamas election, as america now seems in good hands,, balanced judgement and bi-partisan ledership,, ~~ please look at those he is assembling around him,, ~~ OK,, now yuo can all gang up on me,, give each other a break,, get over yuorselves,, yuor not that important actually,,,

    I'm sorry that your marriage will be taken away. I don'tknow that sort of pain. I do, however, know that you should not have been married in the first place. Marriage is a Judeo-Christian sacrament reserved for its followers who wish to emulate the realtionship between Christ and the Chruch. This is cited in the Bible, BTW. Now then, the main issue with Christians is that you are trying to get married when you are not a practicing Christian (or at least have fallen into sin). Your issue is that it's fair. I agree with both. What needs to happen is the status of marriage and civil unions in the eyes of the government needs to change. The government has no business giving the OK for two to people. That is between them and God. If gay people want to have a civil union, fine. I suggest all the benefits of being married in the eyes of the government go to civil unions. really believe that would solve a lot of problems. That way gay people are not married but still have the benfits of being 'married'. Also, Christians cvan finally have marriage as a Christian cornerstone and not have the government. They can go to a court and show they have been married so they, too, can have state sponsered benfits. Does this make sense to you? Do you think this end a lot of drama?

    The conspiracy driven people will always find something. They were taught by the best, Rove, Bush, Cheny etc. Just wait, next it will be something about Obama having the Koran, or some such nonsense, hidden in the Bible as he takes the oath of office.. What is the big deal about his middle name anyway. It's an etnic , name just as is an Italian, German , Irish or any other foreign name plain and simple. Get it?

    Obama is an inexperienced putz. Maybe he should go back to his original "hate whitey" church and show his true colors and hatred toward white people. I wish Bill Cosby would have run for pres. He would have had my vote because he shows what's really happening in the black community. They would rather buy a new pair of tennis shoes than feed their children. Just proof that our priorities are screwed up. Obama has already cost the nation a lot of jobs because of his brilliant tax raise on the "rich" who provide jobs to small business..Unemployment has gone up after the election, but they'll blame Bush for it....Because Comedy Central and MTV will say "it is Bush's fault". If McCain had said he'd legalize dope, these people would have voted for him instead of Obama.

      Boy, you are really stretching it. He hasn't even taken the oath of office yet and you are already blaming him for unemployment going up. How about the war, resession, perhaps the weather too. I'm sure you'll come up with something. Who has been in office eight long years? Couldn't be Bush's fault now could it?. Stop making a fool of yourself. Perhaps you are the one showing "your true colors". Just guessing here, but are you a good Christian who hates everyone?

    I would hope that our president-elect would stay with the Church of Christ that he is already a memnber of. He should neither a black or white church and should retain this membership which does not discriminate by race or sexual orientation and whose theme is, "No matter where you are on the path of life, you are always welcome here".

      Your first post didn't make much sense, why post it twice. Obama, is not even in office yet and you are blaming him for loss of jobs, tax raises, etc. In case you con't know it, Bush is still President and it is still 2008. You can thank the present President for the job losses, and all esle. Don't try to pin this on Comedy Central or MTV, it is the present administrations doings. Bush will go down in history next to Nixon as the worst Presidentin history. Bill Cosby as President, surely you jest, he is a comedian, (an actor) get it? And who are you referring to as "these people?" Your racism is showing. I read an article not too long ago that we all of us have a bit of black blood in us, due to the slave owners satisfying their sexual urges by using the young black female slaves. Scare you ? It is a fact that one of our President had a black child. Wonder how that happened? Bi-racial marriages are no longer a hush, hush, item. Come up to this century and face the fact that we are free to marry who we want and of whatever color we choose. Happy Holidays whichever one you believe in.

        Well firsly, maybe you should listen to Bill Cosby's speeches. Reagan was an actor. I'm sure you get some of your info from Bill Maher. Also, my family migrated from Italy, so sorry to inform you that we didn't carry whips. You're trying to put racism in where it doesn't belong...a clever way of covering the issue being discussed. I'm not racist. If I were, I wouldn't be living with my girlfriend who has two bi-racial children. Also, job loss started AFTER we found out Obama will be the president. The companies are getting a head start on making cutbacks knowing he's about to come in office. That's how it works.

    The 18000, Rick Warren has never stated that your marriage is "criminal", nor harmful to anyone. In fact on Dateline NBC two nights ago, he stated that gay marriages have no effect on heterosexual marriage.
    If anything is harmful it is your incorrect war of words.

    This country has been in a rut for decades and we always get the sam old thing when a new president comes along. It doesn't matter if he is black, white, chinese, or whatever, it also doesn't matter if he is christian or even religious or if he even goes to church. What matters is what he can do for the US. Being president is no differant than being a boss, it doesn't matter what you believe or preach at home as long as when it comes to your job you do what is right for the company. The US is the company and if he has the gonads to take on all comers and straighten things out in the country for the betterment of all americans I could care less if he attends the church of yipsem from the galaxy sonar!

    Why in the World is this even news worthy? Who cares what Church Obama goes to or even if he goes to Church at all? You can worship at home on just about every channel and don't have to waste hours socializing with a bunch of fake people! Church's are organized cults, might sound harsh but it's true! You don't have to go to Church to believe in God or anything else. I hated going to Church when I was growing up and I don't go now. It's doesn't mean I don't believe in something or I am a bad person. I felt it was a waste of time and I still think that today. Why do people feel they have this need to believe in something or have to show their faith? Keep it to yourselves.

    I am having trouble understanding why there is so much research on which church Obama will go. The fact is if he goes to white people church it's because he choses white over black. If he chooses to go to back church, they might say it's because he chooses black over white. It is now our mentality that remains to be changed. The black and white thing. Anyway, none of them preaches the bible; or may the bible according to the american way. The churches sold their soul to the devil. Other way, there are the gays who don't like God think he is not for them. They the anti God and antechrist. Obama could never please everybody. Either way, both parties are going to criticize him for chosing one or the other.We live in a crazy country where people meddle in people business to much. I am Catholic and I am hoping he choses to go to a church and I don't care which one as long as he finds a way to teach his children that there is God and if they follow God's law, things will be different in their life. I also hope that he keeps praying because he is going to need it throughout his term. May God bless the ones that want to be blessed. God loves everybody but you have got to follow his rules as well. That's when he can hear you when you cry for help.

    Religion has no use in today's world. Today's religions are "spirituality" empty husks filled with outdated rules and laws. Religions were created to provide answers to the unknown and to help control the masses. However, today's religions are simply entities used to control the masses and to amass individual wealth. The need for mankind to turn to religion to answer the questions of the unknown has past so we are now left with institutions that use outdated traditions, the power of guilty, and fear tactics to control our beliefs and actions. The fact that these comments focus more on the differences of race, culture, and politics than on the spiritual differences between the churches just reinforces the lack of spirituality in today's religions.

    It is disgusting to glamourize a specific religion while ignoring other religions in a major political event in the name of democracy. Furthermore, it is a religion that originates from a political history of burning people alive for stating the facts such as the earth being round.

Newsweek: Your opinion about Rev. Warren is irresponsible and uninformed. The gist of Rev. Warren's position is clear. For more than 5000 years, no religion have defined sex same marriage in any form. The reason why homosexuality is unnatural is commonsensical. No where in Nature do you find homosexual relation. Why? Because Nature has been weighed down by the sin of Mankind of which homosexuality is one of many.That is to say a liar and homosexual are both sinners. To all Bloggers: Blogging helps to advance issues that are discussed. However the Blogosphere has been hijacked by people trying to advance their agendas instead of advancing a proper discourse. For example, what does it matter which church Obama attends-Black, White or in-between. Also who says anyone is born Gay-There are a lot of Homosexuals who have given up their habits and some still recovering. Finally why should Newsweek be allowed to bash Rev.     Clearly "Sling Blade" is a "McCannanite"...Nonetheless, this whole article is foolishness(making truths of things that the media really knows nothing about)...many people backed Rev. Wright and still do (Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, Howard University School of Divinity and Andrew Rankin Chapel, just to name a few).
    Christianity is relative...everything in life is...with that being said let Barak and his family do their thing, let Rev. Wright do his thing...and let us (indiviually speaking) do ours!
