I see america still has not changed.Just because we have a black president means that he has to go toa black church!! Get out of here and find something better to do with yourselves. There are plenty of mixxed churchs with the same belief or hell maybe he could just stay at the white house.I personally tink that all of you races people out there should find a new hobby cause " We Are Here To Stay"

the dearest president elect should be a believer of the ome true and only GOD thru HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, and what HE rrepresented here while HE walked on earth, a good shepherd, that provided for His flocks, cared for the needy and provided for the poor. it is only imperative that he should go to where GOD'S WORDS THAT BRINGS WHOLISM TO MAN IS PREACHED, AND SUCH I CAN RECOMMEND IS BY LISTENING AND MAKING CLOSE FELLOWSHIP WITH PEOPLE SUCH AS THE VERY OWN BISHOP T.D JAKES, AND THE VERY BISHOP NOEL JONES, BENNY HINN E.T.C WHO ARE FRIENDS OF GOD AND MEN OF INTERGRITY AND CHARACTER

You knoweveryone's been trying to determined which church should Obama go too? well i think, first it's his choice, But also why be bothered by a decision of the people, hell i think he should never go to the same church twice! he's the president, so maybe he should just attend services in washington one week, and poland the next! church is where the heart is! hell, he might even want to see what atheist have cooking in they're kitchen! you'll never know until you look, and like they say in the hood, if your scared gp to church! (smile)!

Gay is a sin and it has it's very own "health" issues! Keep it in the closet and at least set a better role model for our children! We all sin, but do not need to share that in the public lime light. It is between GOD and ourself, except for the cival laws that have built this country from the beginning at Plymouth Rock!

I don't see why this should matter. After all what happened to seperation of Church and State? I know that the world will always have people that push their religious beliefs on others through their work, but why should we judge Obama and what he may or may not do on his religious preference. He may surprise everyone and be one of the rare politicians who do not use their beliefs to push their own agenda. I think that he should be given a chance to actually govern before everyone flies off the handle and starts talking badly about him.

I honestly don't see why this should matter. I know this isn't always the way the world works. People will always put their personal and religious beliefs into their work, but what ever happened to seperation of Church and State? I don't think that we should judge Obama and what he may or may not do based upon his religious choice. He may surprise you and be one of the rare people who do not force their beliefs upon others through his administrations choices.

First, Rick Warren is not an evangelist. He is a pastor. Second, I don't know who's more ignorant - the person who wrote this article or Warren. I think it's the writer. She shows greater ignorance in accusing Warren of ignorance without mentioning comments so readers could judge for themselves. If Warren has said that marriage is between a man and a woman and that gay relationships are perverse and unnatural then he has spoken the truth. Of course gay people have the right to enter into those kinds of relationships but it will never be marriage whatever the powers that be may decide. But gay people should not expect others to fall over and simply accept this way of life as normal or desirable. We won???t. It???s not.

Who cares what church he attends? Let's start seeing some of the change that he kept promising during his campaign!

after winning 54% of the Catholic vote I pause to wonder if he ever considered asking a Catholic prelate to give the invocation

The problem with Warren is that some things are not a matter of belief, they are a matter of fact. And when you reject the fact to adhere to a religious mythology, that is ignorance. It may not be malicious, but it is ignorance. Science has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that the evolutionary process has gone on for epochs and continues to go today. To deny that is ignorance. Science has proven that homosexual is not a choice but a matter of natural process that takes place in various species. Being homosexual is as natural as being heterosexual. Both sets of people may be sinners but it has nothing to do with their sexuality, but rather with whjat they do with it. To call gay people sinners because they were born gay is simply ignorant. Those who invent the religious myths to help them cope with life are understandable, but they miss the true majesty and diversity God has presented to us. And those that attempt to speak for God are themselves not only ignorant but also arrogant.

Posted By: pdreeves @ 12/21/2008 2:32:14 AMRick Warren obviously has a different perspective than you do about homosexuals. However, to state that someone is extremely ignorant because he disagrees with your viewpoint isn???t open-minded, brilliant or insightful: It???s just name calling. He states what he believes, openly, honestly and to the world at large. I don???t doubt that some homosexuals are offended by what he has said. However, to state that it was extremely ignorant sets you up as the judge of what is and isn???t ignorant. I suggest you might not be up to the task.

When will people undestand like so many other sons, Obama was named after his father. It is a name, not a beliefe or religion. I have a middle name in my family that has been past down for 9 generations, Dow. No one knows where it came from or why. However, at least one son from each generation named their sons with this middle name. There are over a dozen males that have had this named tagged on them. Including my grandfather, my Dad, my brother, nephews, etc. Does that make them a relative of the Dow Chemical Co. and entitled to their millions of dollars? I think not. As for his religion, no matter what denomination he chooses, he will catch flack from other segments of religions because he didn't chose theirs. Obama is a Christian regardless of what his parents named him and his choice of church should be his alone, not John Q. Public. He will as always do what is best for Michelle, his girls and himself. He was raised Catholic but if he should choose a Protestant Church, so be it.

Obama should forget the Church altogether and just convert to Islam.

  • Posted By: Troester1039 @ 12/21/2008 8:34:13 AM

It is far from "fact" that to be gay is purely biological and to state this as such is evidence of your own ignorance

  • Posted By: crpuryear @ 12/20/2008 10:42:22 PM

Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged. Everyone has their own interpretation of the Bible and that is their right in this country. Just one of the rights so many have fought and died for. As for whether or not President Elect Obama practices Muslim ways, when has it ever left HIS lips that he does. So far, only those against him have accused him. As a nation we should be concerned about our President's religious beliefs because they will greatly influence every decision he makes as the world's most powerful man. If you, whomever you may be, are religious, then take solitude in your religion in your way that our President Elect will make the correct decisions. For those of you whom are purely racist and that is your issue, then get the **** over it. I am a 46 year old white woman, who spent my informative years growing up in MIssissippi, who voted for this man and after every decision/choice he has made thus far my confidence in him grows stronger. It is damn time this world woke up and accepted the fact that outside has nothing to do with the inside. CLOSED MINDS ARE THE PROBLEMS OF THIS COUNTRY.

So, I interpret your post to mean that you like to bite the heads off of small animals. That's just my interpretation. It doesn't matter what your intent really was, I can take your text and read any meaning into it that I wish. That is my right as an American, despite how (un)educated I might be about your style, the cultural and political context in which you're writing, or the intended audience.

  • Posted By: Troester1039 @ 12/21/2008 8:00:04 AM

The author of the article is either extremely ignorant herself or just not a very good writer. The opinions Rev. Warren has expressed about homosexuality are not uninformed or unlearned, quite the contrary. He may not believe as you do, but that does not make him ignorant and to call his statements such is very poor journalism and is, well, just plain ignorant.
