Make it legal now!! We all have a sexual nature in us! Marriage, dating, masturbation, are not and never will be the only
way to satisfy that side of ourselves! We have to have that human to human touch sometimes. You know, when a break-up occurs, or a marriage fails, or you just don't want to be botherd with any relationship hassels!! Think about the "picked on", the homely ones, the lonely ones! YEP, they need that touch too! Only a one dimensional, selfish mind would not understand these things in life!

Prostitution is illegal. whether you want it to be or not. Making it legal in order to make it safer is a rediculous argument. We might as well make drug dealing and gun running legal to protect the crackhead on the corner. I would hate for the guy selling heroin to my 6 year old kid to feel like he's in danger. If you want to feel safe while being a prostitute then DON'T DO IT.

At my mother's knee I learned the foundation of my concept of freedom and law: my freedom to swing my fist ends near the other person's nose. I can be as free as I want to as long as I make no harm to someone else. Prostitution, homosexuality, gay marriage, responsible use of alcohol and Liberalism all seem to fit this criterion. He probably has mental issues, low self esteem, and no respect for women. And as for the prostitutes who want protection? Don't take up a profession that requires you to walk the dark city streets at the very time of night when criminals are the most active. Go take a shower and aquire yourself a job at McDonalds where getting promoted to manager is about as easy as spreading your legs.

The whole question, of whether prostitution is legal or illegal is a prime example of this country trying to legislate morality...something that has been proven impossible to accomplish in a free society. Personally, I think that prostitution should be legitimised, and that the sex workers should have reasonable requirements placed on them to ensure not only their own safety, but that of their clientele. Before anyone hops on the GOD box and declares that I am an amoral person who wants to see this country dragged downn into the deepest pits of hell...I suggest that they read their bibles a bit closer...namely the new testament...the story about where jesus saved an adultress from being stoned. To be honest, I was raised in a penecostal holiness church, until I reached the age of reason and could see through the rhetoric and hypocrisy that was being spouted as "GOD'S TRUTH". It was the hypocrisy that caused me to leave the church, and believe me when I say, that same hypocrisy permeates the teachings of every denomination and sect of christianity. Prostitution has been around since before the time of Abraham, it was even condoned among royalty...what do you think concubines were? It was only when learned men began to feel threatened by the power these practitioners of the pleasurable arts gained with their gentle services that they sought to turn the general populace against them. First it was prostitutes, then it became the midwives, the healers who served rural villages...

Let's be brutally honest, if a man is not inclined to pay for sex, he won't, so there is no temptation for him, and if he is inclined to do so, which would he choose, a source he can trust is clean, healthy, and capable of giving her best to the task...or one who has been driven to the fringe of society by the puritanical whinings of a very vocal few who see themselves as the voice of GOD...Ladies and gentlemen...If god wants to make himself heard...one has only to look in the bible to see where he makes himself quite clear...so far we haven't had fire and brimstone raining down on european countries that have legalised prostitution. Make it legitimate, charge them a fee for the liicenses necessary, tax their earnings, and let them worry about their immortal soul, after all , sin is a very personal concept. If you don't feel guilty, then you most likely aren't. I don't question that therte is a higher power that turns the crank, it is evident all around us, but I do not believe that power finds fault in humans finding pleasure with each other, but the rape of the planet...well that is another rant for another venue.

It should be legalized & taxed. Our government needs to raise tax revenues any way it can. It's been going on with the $ under the table since the dawn of man.

We're NEVER going to get men, of all creatures on the planet, to live right and keep their peckers in their pants. I'm a single woman over 40 living in Seoul and I can tell you that American men over here are VERY open about being married and looking for prostitutes. I'm a teacher, so I'm posting this to teach Americans, not just women (though it'd be nice if my gender would wake up once and for all), that many, many, many men pay for sex. In the immortal words of Mammie from Gone With The Wind,"What men says and what they thinks is two different things." LADIES, what your husbands SAY and what they DO are always two different things. I see it EVERY SINGLE DAY here. When I was a teacher in Chicago, Las Vegas and in Alaska, I saw it EVERY SINGLE DAY. This is what married women NEVER experience and they never heed the warning call from single women over a 'certain' age.
What I'm trying to say is that since these guys are going to do what they want, whether you say they can't or not, why not give them a clean game field to play in? Do you really want to have to break the news to your children that daddy gave mommie AIDS and you won't be attending their college graduations because you're going to be dead by that time? Get realistic, America...I know it's hard, but hard realities have a way of creeping up on our front doors recently, don't they? Let these prostitutes have their legalization so they can get healthcare treatment for whatever their getting from whomever so they don't give it to everyone else. Did that make sense? The arguments that drugs, violence, and prostitution are all related is just a canard for the moral bluenoses. The selling of one's body is one thing, the use of drugs or violence is another. There are people who will use drugs irregardless of their profession and use violence because of their nature. When I was in the navy I was stationed in several different cities and I discovered that nearly every city had a suspected serial killer preying on the local prostitutes and any young woman that crossed their path. These killers were sucessful because the community blamed the victims more than the killer until the killer took someone who wasn't a prostitute. If someone was targetting postal workers just for being postal workers there would be an outcry nationwide so why is prostitution different. The illegal sex trade and child sex workers should be illegal but why make victims of adults who have made a decision to use their bodies to make an income. Why do we penalize the woman who removes her clothing and not the man who digs ditches. They are both making the use of their bodies for someone else's desires. It is just the SEX factor that scares and disgusts people for no good reason. As for the johns, busting men is a very lucrative business for cities. The average john must pay $2500 and more for an arrest to lawyers and the city. This is the heighth of hypocrisy in government and calling government hypocritical is easy. The only thing to do is to legalize legitimate prostitution and for people "HammerofThor" I am a conservative. It seems to me that liberals use this as a wedge. They practice the crime but use it to make money and control behavior.
