It's good to see Obama pick a pastor outside the box...considering the church he belonged too. LOL!!

well said Bradbo!! Merry CHRISTmas!!
The Bible speaks against more than just one sin. On the other hand, it does not condemn polygamy or polyandry. The New Testament does not tell Christians to get their government to make homosexual sex, anal sex, adultery, beastialiity or fornication illegal. Nor does it tell Christians to get their government to ban homosexuals from getting "married," even though the only marriage it referred to is between a male and a female (a female of at least age 12, even in New Testament days). On the other hand, the New Testament said the Roman Empire didn't carry the sword in vain, but was to be God's minister of wrath and vengeance. The "sword" alluded to the death penalty for deliberate or reckless murderers..
Rick warren need to correct anything he said concerning God and people who are gay. God doesn't hate anyone he created. He hates the sin of rebellion which is the act of contridiction to what God has said for us. When God created us, He call his creation good. If Rick Warren has said that God hates gay people then he is incorrect.
Barack hasn't betrayed anyone. He is simple extending a hand of integrity for inviting a man who chose McCain who showed no morals when he was asked the question what would he do if American was attacked during his presidency and his answer wasn't wise, however barack gave him an answer that came direct from the scriptures (Proverbs 24:6 & Micah 6:8) but Rick warren rejected him so what you must realize is God is the only judge and lawgiver so remember to vote for who has the wisdome to make our lives better. Barack said that he would fight for you to have equal rights not agree with your lifestyle. I don't agree with same sex marriage because it's not what God meant for man and woman is why he created Adam and Eve to multiply and bring forth fruit. All I can say is ask Jesus into your hearts and ask him to forgive your sins and fill you with His Holy Spirit and submit to His impartations and He will be pleased with you.
I love you and God loves you too.
Are you really suprised that Obama picked Warren to speak (pray). Obama himself does not think that gays should be able to marry, he said that civil unions with same legal rights is were he stands. It is sad that as a so called christian nation that many of the people who do not consider themselves to be a christian is the more christ like. i have been a christian as long as i can rember but it is pastors like Warren that almost destroyed my faith, that i could be gay and a christian. there are many pastors out there who are not so devisive on this issue i just wish that Obama whould have chosen wisley, sadly i think he may have chosen with his convections.
Romans Chapter 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie. Romans Chapter 1!:28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
This is the issue as far as the Christian view of someone who chooses to believe that a gay lifestyle is acceptable in God's eyes when it is not. To state that it OKAY for clery or lay ministry to be gay is to make an open mockery of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
I am tired of hearing the gay agenda turning the truth of God into a lie. Read the whole Chapter of Romans 1 and you will see how God feels about this issue. Bottom line those who have chosen the gay life style are God Haters.
I happen to be a very devout Christian and the Bible speaks plainly that homosexual activity is a sin. Therefore, no Christian worth their salt is going to endorse what God has called sin. That being said, I am mortified by the occassional comment from those who say "God Hates Fags!" or "Gays are a stench in the nostrils of God." The truth is that while we were still in sin, Christ died for us and that God so loved the world (which includes gay people the last time I checked), that He gave His Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. So, instead of "God Hates Fags!" it should be said that "God Loves Homosexuals, but He Hates Homosexual Activity."
Leah gets it wrong when she says that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people are whole and perfect children of God exactly as they are. First, theologically you are 100% wrong. Nobody is a child of God unless they have trusted in Christ alone as their Redeemer and King. Second, snce homosexuality is a sin and since most people in the ctageories you mentioned are practicing as such without repentence and without a desire to change from their sin, then by definition they cannot be children of God. Is it more harmful to endorse what God has called sin so as not to stir the pot and make people feel uncomfortable with their own sinful desires and let them be separated by God for eternity or is it better to try and gently but truthfully call a spade a spade with the hope that they will see the error of their ways.
By the way, when are we going to start reading about the homosexual terrorism and intimidation taking place by these "whole and perfect children of God" against Christians, Mormons, and other supporters of Prop. 8 in California?
Mr. Crain is an appeaser. In all of human history, when has appeasement resulted in anything other than the destruction of the appeasers?

My reason for saying that the gay outage about Rick Warren is UNJUSTIFIED, is as follows: First of all, Rick Warren only supports what "God says" in His Word (the Bible). He supports what God says, about all sinners whether they be a thief, a liar, a person who worships money or something other than God (can even be self), or an individual who chooses a homosexual way of life that is at odds with what the CREATOR says is wrong. All individuals who do things that God is against are sinning, which makes them sinners. It doesn't matter who this individual is. Gays don't like Rick Warren because he preaches the God of the Universe, who says that among other sins, doing homosexual acts of man-with man & woman with woman are wrong. Since God is the initialtor of what is wrong, and rightly so, because He is the Creator and ultimate final answer on what is right or wrong, then the individuals who practice lying, stealing, homosexual acts, or anyting that is wrong in Gods eyes, are wrong. It doesn't matter whether they say they are a Christian or not. All righteous judgement is fron God. Anyone who wants to fight this needs to go straight to Jesus Christ and ask Him. I dare anyone to do this! As a matter of fact, I double- dare any individual who truly seeks truth about what is actually right and wrong in God's eyes and goes to Him to find out if what He says is true! I used to live a life of thinking that there was nothing wrong with homosexual acts (you see I refer to them as acts), as I hate no individual. What each individual needs to recognize is that God loves everyone, even those who are deceived into thinking that it is okay for a male to have sex with a femal (outside of marriage), or a male to have sex with a male, or a femal to have sex with a female (whether in marriage or outside of marriage). Bottom line is God says both of these sexual acts are sin. I don't like ikt that many times the media makes the gays and lesbians look worse than those who live together without being married and have sex. Both are sinnning. And a sinner needs Jesus to stop this kind of sin. God will never approve, so it would be wise to go to Him , see how God sees sin because in the end God's son Jesus Christ is the final judge when anyone dies, and that goes for me too. The whole world needs to get right with God, and not just gays and lesbians!

My distress over this invitation to Warren is about Obama (and many others) discounting the very real anguish being felt by gay Americans at his selection. Let me stress that I applaud a variety of views on the platform, even views that I oppose. However, I would not want anyone up there, on that day, who was famous for speaking out in a manner that was generally considered to be mean spirited and outrageous toward any group. Nor would I want to see anyone up there, on that day, who was known as an activist in working against civil rights for any citizens. Black citizens are quick to cry "foul" whenever gay citizens say their issues are civil rights issues. This is mind boggling to me. No, the oppression is not exactly the same -- but it is very similar. And I for one have been very irritated to see the very same group I risked my safety for in the deep South, fail miserably to support me in my efforts to achieve equal rights. How would you feel, really, to read that Obama (toward the goal of inclusion, diversity of opinion, whatever) had invited David Duke to say a few words at the inauguration? Then, how would you feel if, having expressed your despair, you were told to take a deep breath and "get over it"? This is not an outrageous comparison. David Duke strikes a nerve with people who abhor racism in much the same way as Warren strikes a nerve with gays. Why would you shove him in someone's face at such a historic time? Would you expect Jews to stand respecfully and listen to words of prayer from someone who was famous for preaching that the holocaust never happened? Obama may well do great things for moving gay rights forward, but this bone-headed move, and his stubborness in defending it, and his total lack of empathy for those who feel betrayed by him, is hard hearted indeed. He has clearly shown up to this point that he discounts the feelings of his gay supporters. Now that he has heard the outcry, we will see if he is too stubborn to admit a failing, or if he will search his heart for a way to make this situation a less bitter pill. There are many ways to address this mistake -- if he is the kind of man who thinks it is worth his effort, if he is the kind of man who truly wants to bring us together.

Why is it that if you do not agree with the GLBT lifestyle you are quickly labeled a homophobe? I, for one, do not fear them, I simply do not agree with that lifestyle. I may not agree with many lifestyles but that should not label me as fearful. I am not perfect nor am I infalable. But neither is the GLBT believer. Just as sure as I could be wrong, so could they. Moreover, those of the Christian faith are instructed to hate the sin but not the sinner (and we are ALL sinners)
You've simply made a case for removing religion from politics altogether. How do both of you think a non-believer like me feels. Intellectual violence is perpetrated on me all the time.
This just proves to me we'll see a gay president before a non-believer.
COMPROMISE- IS NECESSARY IN LIFE.
Man your handle fits - so tired and old, you are clueless bub. We are a force of nature and like nature we are just exactly the way God made us. We couldn't change ourselves if we tried. We are nature's single most powerful birth control when it comes to over-grazing, over population, nothin says birth control like a 70 year old male virgin who has never had, not one single instance of urge or thought of attraction toward the opposite sex. I dare you old and tired, to try to be homosexual. On second thought you're probably latent. You people are such bigots it is breath taking. You can't see equal civil rights for all if it was shoved up your nose. Not until you're in the concentration camps yourselves would you even begin to have a clue what's fair. Our equal rights as gay people is the same for all Americans. It IS THE REASON SO MANY HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED IN THE IRAQI WAR, albeit it uneccesarily in an unjust war, Democracy is freedom, equal rights, the pursuit of happines FOR ALL! YOU CAN NOT DISCRIMINATE AND THAT IS WHAT WARREN DOES. Why do you think the Supreme court keeps striking down and throwing out your efforts OF BIGOTRY? I was true to my nature, I did what God made me to do, I refrained from bringing unwanted children into this world, certainly not by having sex with a woman, I am true to my partner as David loved Jonathon "more than a woman". We have not had intercourse, we are not sodomist or pedophiles but we do love each other and consider ourselves married. Our condemning families however, can't wait till one dies so they can claim our wealth for themselves. Oh, and they consider themselves devout, evangelical, Republican Christians! DISZGUZTING! I am just as true to my nature as the 1 in 4 rams the ranchers are so angry with, that refuse to mate with ewes. This number declines as over-grazing declines. It's natural you bigots. Get educated you and Warren and stop obstructing other people's freedoms!
Living a gay lifestyle is sin or wrong or whatever you want to call it. Yea i know most of them say they were born that way and i believe them. but i also believe there were people born with a natural desire to steal or lie and does that make it right? NO!! But we do live in this great country of freedom so if they decide to live that way so be it but all i ask is that they would shut up and start focusing on things that are more important than themselves
Why should we care about a group of bloggers who are concerned or even upset out Obama's choice? What have these bloggers done that even begins to compare with what Obama has done? Who supports these bloggers compared to who supports Obama? The idea that a group of people who write for free on their blogs should have any input in the president-elect's choice is ridiculous. Bloggers should have as much power as it costs them to blog. Their power should be based on what their readers pay to read them.
Where is it written that the same sex marriage is right? What would the world be like if Adam and Eve were Herb and Jasper? Man will take upon himself a woman and go forth and create life. If two peple of the same sex want to be together , fine. That does not give them the right to be married or have children to raise. I want to be like you Dad or Mom, and that`s what will happen to children raised by gay people. The children will be pointed toward a gay life style.
Dear Leah, God loves you and if you listen closely, Rick Warren's messages AND actions back this fact. (Everything he supports is Biblical.) The problem is, when we, please note, I said WE fall short of God's Word, it is sin, which God hates and which separates us from Him. But praise God, His Word does not stop in us falling short, leaving us to die in sin---He loves us SO much, He gave His only Son to pay the price for our shortcomings. You are correct, you, as all of us are created in His image . . . He just does not condone or love our sin . . . BUT READILY FORGIVES WHEN WE CONFESS! John3:16 and 1John 1:9
