And on the third day the mouth-breathers asked why President-Elect Obama hasn't spoken out? On the forth day Barack speaks. On the fifth day the mouth-breathers ask, what right does Obama have to speak out, he's not the president yet! Isn't it funny how those in the Republican party of hate, who no longer have a voice, think they can choose who speaks and when?

Once again, no offense, but please leave the humor to experts like me. You're best when making hyper-partisan shots across the bow that contain a nugget of truth encased in a thick lacquer of bs, innuendo and unsubstantiated rumor-mongering.

      • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/30/2008 11:24:14 AM

I prefer Repub's humor. There is a point. And fundamental integrity too.

        • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/30/2008 11:43:49 AM

True. If you're looking for humor with a point combined with underlying moral integrity than I am probably not your guy.

          • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/30/2008 11:52:22 AM

Nice guess... on all three points... individually... and in the aggregate.

Who's guy do you think you are, other than that grimace in the mirror, I mean?

            • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/30/2008 12:07:50 PM

Please rephrase in English so I can soak in your brilliance. thanks.

You couldn't get it if I wrote it on a mallet and pounded it into your head.

                • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/30/2008 1:35:26 PM

That's a granted. Having said that, your diction needs some work. You seem easily excitable. Did you, Suckboy and PiaZadora go to the same grammar school?....not a judgement...just an observation.

                  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 12/30/2008 1:40:56 PM

PiaZadora? Where is this coming from? Only one person ever calls me that! How could you possibly know?

I'm surprised a paragon of moral virtue like you would partake in such sin. Was this the old, decadent 40YearR we're talking about?

                        • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/30/2008 2:12:11 PM

My experiences of that kind are not something I discuss here.

Glad there's a little excitement in your life. Sounded a little stuffy at first. I kept on thinking about those Adam Ant lyrics "don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do"?

                      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 12/30/2008 2:03:07 PM

I love to get excited, and there are those who do that for me, but you're too lame to get excited about.

Lame..I agree with that observation. You gotta admit that I have been hitting your softballs out of the park. You might want to work on that pitching arm. Spring Training starts in a few weeks.

    Mr Zakaria,

By placing President Elect Obama at the top of the "Power" list, does nothing more then reinforce what you have stated about people thinking he is "the one". Well, he's not and he surely will not solve the economic crysis in the United States.

I say this because of the following reasons which for some reason or other people like you and others don't seem to understand.

First off the vast majority of the 18 to 45 age group are part of the "I want it and I want it all now" generation, who by the way, voted for President Elect Obama.

With that being said, what you or the rest of our so called "wise representatives" fail to understand is regardless of how much money is given to lending institutions, the group I just referred to is so far in debt, they couldn't get a loan or borrow money if their life depended upon it.

They have bought more house then they could afford, are more then $11,000 in credit card debt, own two SUV's sitting in the driveway with their overpriced house, have two or three kids who want nothing but "designer clothes, want to make top dollar when they graduate from college, want to own the latest and greatest in gadgets, go out to eat every day of the week, and don't have a savings account living on $80,000 a year.

Now you tell me if President Elect Obama is going to solve that delema. The only way that will be solved is if he gives every working person in this country money in hand. .

iI have no problem with giving Frank and Dodd major credit for the out of control Fannie and Freddy disaster. Here were two of the indisputably smartest and educated in the financial sector putting their personal welfare ahead of our Country's needs. Bush can't be left off of the hook either. The GOP had the Presidency and both Houses of Congress and failed to bring the oversight bill to the floor.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/30/2008 12:11:33 PM

I also have no problem with including them in the mix either. There are buckets of blame to lay everywhere. But they're pikers in the grand schemes of things. Such as on whom the really big money was spent, why, and where all the trillions went, how and why, and why that $300B+ had to be just given to the looting corporations because the really big problem is Credit Default Swaps, etc., which is why they figured out right away that the original idea of buying toxic mortgages couldn't begin to solve the problem because it's not the biggest problem. Frank and Dodd are just minnows. That's why this whole 'discussion' started with those preemptive disinformation anonymous emails, pointing at the minnows to distract us from the whales.

      • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/30/2008 2:11:43 PM

I'm glad you finally admit that Dodd, and "sweet lips" Frank were also culpable. Thanks for sticking by your guns.

OBAMA will show the American people how to foul up a sickened economy, and blame all on the Bush Administration, where as it is the Major Corporation's fault we are in this situation CEO's scamming off their companies, and improper managment of resources. Sure, Obama will take credit for anything possitive, only to make him look good, he is already bowing out by saying it'll get worse before it get better. Americans were looking for a change, and they think he's it. Well, they're wrong. He is already playing copycat, by taking credit from the Bush Administration, and roll out stimulas checks!. Ther is nothing original about this guy! I will venture to guess in four years, we will be in the same boat wee are in today, If AMERICAN CORPORATIONS, NOT President, get off their duffs, and do their job, and quit pocketing all the profits for the CEO's to get fat(ter). Modern Day Slavery is known as outsourcing,. American get tired of trying to understand someone who doesn't speak good English to solve a Computer Problem, or try to remedy their credit situation, Corporations, and Bans need to lower interest to ALL American, not just the select few that have good credit, and we will NOT be in this mess!!! They also need not to make it so challenging for "average jJoe" to get by. They need to quit threatening with forecloses, and/or repossesin of property. If you read this article, and disagree, so that is your right, but to look toward one man and his "Villiage People" cabinet to save the day, is NOT going to happen. Corporate America got us in this mess, and they are responsible to get us OUT. Enough said! Have a Great Day!!

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/30/2008 2:01:59 PM

"how tofoul up a sickened economy" Now that would be a trick, wouldn't it?

Why don't we blame Obama for everything?

  • Posted By: Networklaw @ 12/30/2008 1:57:37 PM

I do not think person make difference to this recession. The point is how financial network working into the market is key point. In this sense we do not expect any charisma from the Obama to rescue the the financial disaster including credit crunch. In the mean time we must understand that there is no other option for the competitive market to the world market power. However, I believe that distrust on to the capitalistic open market is being critic matter for leftist bunch of so called Economist. Thus to defend the open market world leader including Obama has painstankinly work to show the word that the system we believe in is better then others. To rescue this misson pareto efficiency has to be shown to the world market to beat the Left moaning culture. Finally, world leader has to unite for competitive market where competion law completely can act against dominant market firm.

No humor intended. Just answering josemarti's shot at Barack. President Obama is far too schooled to give in to partisan demands that he say something about the Israeli retalliation..Hhe speaks when he decides the time is right and always has an intellegent approach. something the country's been lack for 8 long, long years. I've tried and given up attempting to use the reply box. jose is lamenting Baracks failure to weigh in on the mess in the middle East and then would slam him for interferring with a sitting President if he did. pbpace, I am reponding here to your 2:17 post below because of satlink slowness.

"Actually I was writing in because you are the one that seemed one-sided and strident."

Untrue. My post to you in the thread below of 12/24 12:17was after your one-sided post of 12/24 10:44 a.m. to Harley in the thread at which my response appeared.

"I'm glad to see you backpedaled and agree the Rs and Ds were both up to their necks in this bs. As always ...you're welcome and apology accepted."

Your falsehoods and sophomoric attempts to put words into my mouth negate the credibility you apparently seek to convey.

    • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/29/2008 10:23:53 AM

      Dude,
      ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
You're WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too serious. Please admit that you cracked a smile at some of my post here. I know I've cracked myself up. At any rate, this is boring. I think I'll go over to Human Events and goof with some people. Cheerio!...and you're welcome for me having brightened your otherwise lugubrious online existence.

      • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/30/2008 9:53:55 AM

Ok pbwhoever, let's review. This is a part of a thread below. You rebuke Harley for his reference to the Bush wealth redistribution, and introduce the weak Frank, Dodd saw. I reply simply, on your topic, with links to articles on the massive amounts spent to lobby Rs to prevent regulation. You ask for my delusion pills, along with other gratuities. I refer to your misdirected insults. You then claim that you were only replying to my one-sided response. That was a lie. I replied to your one-sided off-topic slam to someone else. And you tried to put words in my mouth.

Now having exosed your lie and gratuities, you claim I am too serious. Your post here is just defeat-induced narcolepsy. Understandable... How unhumorous of me to point out your lie, gratuities and hypocricy....

I am always serious about lies. Your humor is just an extension of your class clown routine. That is a gambit many do here when they need to change the subject. It is sophomoric. It is not substance. This is a site for politics, right? Grab the stage, divert, but you are just a narcissistic clown. I am amused by the Jackass series sometimes too. The difference is that they don't take themselves seriously. You are no different than the chimpazees who crap in their hands, fling it, and then parade around lthinking they did something clever. If they could talk, they would tell everyone too...

        • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/30/2008 10:11:52 AM

          Ewwww. Your serious about lies...ewww.
Dude, look, you're just a partisan hack coming on here trying to convince us you're some reformed republican. I can see though the baloney, however, using my spidey vision. That's ok..just don't know why you don't admit it. As for Frank and Dodd, are they as much to blame as the Repubs?? maybe and maybe not. Might point is both parties had their hands in this. Please don't try to bedazzle me with your non sequiturs and red herrings. You're a real cool, respectful customer aren't you? Except I've read some of your juvenile hijinks on this thread. So please spare me your fatherly lecture my friend. I will continue to goof and you and mess with you as long as I find it amusing. Live, learn it, accept it. You have a wonderful day my humorically challenged little buddy.

          • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/30/2008 10:16:12 AM

P.S. I take back my line about you being humorically-challenged and lugubrious...at least partially. Your comment about the chimpanzees was pretty funny!!! My comedic genius must be rubbing off on you. As always, you're welcome.

  • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 12/29/2008 11:04:28 PM

Let???s be realistic and honest, if the real goal is to have peace in the Middle East, then don???t focus on having Hamas and Israel negotiate a settlement based on their ability to compromise, which has proven to be impossible, but rather put equal and realistic pressure on them to accept equitable terms. Put politics aside and negotiate with the Arab countries, especially Syria and Iran, to stop supporting and backing Hamas unless they accept the terms of a cessation of hostilities with the agreement that we will do the same with Israel. Then offer both of them support in making a true and lasting peace work, with the quiet threat that if they don???t honestly and diligently work at it, they will be cut off. End of conflict! Maybe we need to admit that Israel really wasn???t anyone???s property to be given away in the first place but they also have to recognize that it is too late to be reversed and now it is necessary to just accept reality and come to agreements that are literally best for everyone; which likely should include a beneficial cooperation that advances each party. Simply stated, get the politics out of it and concentrate on the reality, realizing that if they could become interdependent, then the problem would be solved.

Ahh, the unregulated free market... Is that what you advocate? You must know that if left unregulated, it will begin to affect You negatively. Never a breaker of anything.

Now that the GOP party of hate has lost it's voice and it's right to participate, I find that even remarks from their mouth-breathers aren't worth a comment. Maybe in 2010, i'll be more energized to smack them around. right now, i just can't get into it.

Hi R! Good to read you. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas! As a belated gift to you from me, I will smack the mouth breathers for you. Just make me a list and I will check it twice to make sure of who has been naughty and not nice!

Sweetheart, I hate to be mean (yeah rrrrrriiiiiiiiggggghhhhhttttt! :)) but humor is a difficult medium to perfect...especially if English is your second language. You might want to try being the "eye candy" on this site and leave satire to the more verbally gifted amongst us...just a thought.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 12/29/2008 11:40:53 AM

Aren't we full of ourselves. Who do you think you are talking to me this way? No one. It was a joke directed at my friend Repssuck therefore it is none of your business. And English is my First language. I speak other languages as well. Now, I suggest you run along before I tell you where to really go.

PS PB or whatever your name is-don't ever refer to me as 'sweetheart" again, understand? You are nothing but a wanna be bully. I see all of your rude posts here to everyone. Now get lost little boy.

                  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 12/29/2008 12:53:38 PM

Of course I'm very funny, funnier than you will ever be. Have a good lunch and when you come back, try to be funny without being offensive.

How can you be doing any job if you're at lunch?

It's not hard when you're omniscient, ubiquitous and omnipresent.

                            Don't forget "full of it."

It takes a man to admit it. Btw- I know who you are, J!

                    Hey HB,
Don't you limeys have any sense of honor? I was developing a quite pleasant relationship with Pia...and YOU had to go and ruin it...THANKS!

                  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 12/29/2008 1:47:37 PM

HB, thank you for your concern, but I don't think pbpace is a troll. I think he may be an old poster I know with a new username. If he misbehaves again, I will ignore.

          • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/29/2008 12:17:11 PM

Ok..let me get this straight, if I verbally "smack" somebody and call it a "joke" it's cool. If, on the other hand, I call someone sweetheart and give a little constructive criticism it's construed as rudeness? Thanks for setting me straight. I'm new to this forum and I just didn't know the etiquette. I beg your forgiveness.

            • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 12/29/2008 12:23:15 PM

pbpace- drink lots of black coffee and then go sleep it off.

    • Posted By: pbpace @ 12/29/2008 9:59:35 AM

Yep ... I can see how you have room to brag. Actually, aren't you that same idiot that couldn't spell CAT if I gave you the C and A? Btw, your knowledge of history is truly overwhelming too! lol

Only someone "educated" in a government school thinks there is a real differance between the repugs and the dumbocrapts.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/28/2008 5:40:59 PM

Howdy R, It is more boring now, but midget brydges just flaunted his racist colors at the GOP 'shocked' article. Please tell me he hasn't gotten more tolerable to you too...
