We don't have the bether education, it's true, and we are so far of this, but i just can see regression in the next election. We don't have any good candidate.

In Lula's government, all the lies, frames and dirts are showed. this happened because of the seriousness of our current president. Not distorted things!

It has become a common place to see Mr. Lula da Silva as a statesman these days. In fact, it can be possible for people living abroad, but in Brazil things look a lot diferent. Mr. Lula da Silva signed a law that practically forbids the ownership of firearms by ordinary citizens. In result, criminals are free to attack anyone, anytime, anywhere. American businessmen who invest in Brazil cannot tell, but those who invest and live in that south-american country know very well what I am talking about. Lack of security is just one of the problems in Mr. Lula da Silva's republic. It is also noticeable the corruption schemes that pervade the administration. The eldest son of Mr. Lula himself, once an owner of a small firm of electronic games, turned into a millionaire after a corporation that exploits telecommications in Brasil made itself an associate of him .

yes ..the magazine was rigth on target by chosing lula he brougth brazil back from the ashes..what a president we have now,giving money and food to poor parents that sends their kids to school ,making credit lines for those that need so they can buy house ,cars,eletronics...here is a guy that never went to college and did better than those before him that was from what we elite...he's a prove that goverment can do a lot if they really wanna help...i'm very happy and pround to have my president as one of the most powerfull personof the world....thank you

First of all, I would like to congratulate your staff for choosing of Lula, Brazil President, as one of the most powerful people in the world. You are totally right when you say Brazil was on the verge of a ruin when Lula was elected and re-elected by more than 60% of our population.

Yes, we are proud of our President Lula. In the past, we had other people who had everything for making our country respectable as nowadays it is, but nothing occurred. Almost 8 years later, Lula has the support of 73% of us, a totally different situation of most people in office. Lula's charisma has been studied by national and international universities -- how a man arisen from the mass can negotiate so well without being arrogant, submissive or populist. His travelling around the world has increased our great business opportunities, and thanks to his plans for federal universities spreading, people in the countryside can graduate without leaving their homeland.

Because of Lula's effective administration and under his leadership, Brazilians are not suffering so much because of the crisis which is damaging other countries even the rich ones. Of course, there are some people who are jealous and envy of his success. But that is common in a democracy.

I am really proud about this choice. First, i always voted for the guy( and he tryed quite a few times); Second, The Brazilian elite freaked out when he came to power, a lot of people though he would be this extremist, kinda like Hugo Chaves, and would bring Brazilian economy to ruins by making it a larger model of Cuba. Boy, were they wrong. The guy is as mild as ketchup and he is also a keen diplomat. Though i Live in Illinois, land of Rod, LULA, I salute you!!!

I for one, am proud to see Lula being recognized for his leadership. I have always voted for the guy. He is an example of determination, courage and leadership, and as much as Brazil still has a lot to improve on the social side we are thriving economically. Lula has the largest approval rate in Brazilian history and lots of people want him to change the constitution in order to go for a third term.

When I saw this article, it tooks me by surprise, because here in Brasil, 90% of journalists spends lots of pages only to beat the president Lula! It seems that we live at another country (or brazilian press is trying to make us believe in this).
