    I hope this suggestion gets to the new president via Mr. Emanuel. My suggestion to him is for the presidents to ask every american who receives a stimulus check to spend $100 with a retailer and save $100 in their nearest bank. If they do not have a savings acct, to open one. Take the rest of it and pay bills, etc. This is what he should ask us to do to show up the economy. ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR..BUT DO WHAT YOU CAN TO HELP YOUR COUNTRY. I think this will help stimulate the economy and get it started again. Think of the all the $100 bills flowing into the economy again. YES, WE CAN DO THIS!

    Interestingly enough, Michelle Obama was omitted from the 50 most powerful people in the world. Some if not most of those mentioned on the list derive their power through their association, thereby influence. Certainly, the first lady will have considerable influence just by association alone.

    And nothing about the links with ultra-orthodox and terrorist (Irgun) Jewish groups of this Israel-passport-holder Congressman? Nothing about how this AIPAC mole will influence the new administration's Middle East policies? With him, any hope of the US adopting a balanced approach to that conflict seems bleaker than ever.

      Many American Jews hold Israeli passports - that doesn't make them less American.

      The Irgun disbanded after successfully throwing the British out of Palestine - not unlike the American colonists who successfully threw the British out of the 13 colonies. Funny how it was ok for us, but not for the Israeli's - the British oppression was the same.

      The Irgun disbanded in 1948,when Isreal was granted statehood by the UN, so Rahm could not possibly have been a member, although his father had Irgun ties.

      It was, after all, 60 years ago.

        Parents influence their children, and in Mr Emmanuel's case, it shows. He is even more hard-liner than Bush about America's pro-Israeli Middle East policies. In a moment when it's more urgent than ever to find a solution to this conflict, choosing somebody so intransigent about this issue for such an influential position won't help at all. It's time to bring in people with an open mind, not more zealots. 8 years were enough.

    Is Rahm Emmauel, the new Darth Vader? Perhaps he'll take that position as it looks like Joe Biden will loosen the control exerted by the most "dangerous" vice president in American history? Look out Hillary and Bill. Thank goodness Condi is coming home to California.

    We will be voting all these snakes out of Washington in four years.America is starting to look like a third World country and I think it is only going to get worse with these liberal pukes behind the wheel.Hang on America We are sinking under the crap Bill Clinton pulled (NAFTA).and now we are back to the same crap that did not work Americans had a chance to elect a real patriot and passed up on it I am sorry Dr. Ron Paul.It seems this country has a majority of snakes in it.

    There are a few people in Congress I wouldn't mind seeing getting a dead fish. Things need to get done, we don't need more obstructionists blocking things!
