This country is in a mess because of its people. Yet the people tend to blame one man for it all - Bush. He has tried to lead the way he thought best. It may not have been the best but everybody has his style. Now that Obama is in some people want him to fail before even he sits in the White House. Even if their lives are ruined they will do anything to make Obama fail.

Choosing trusted people to assist a president is nothing wrong. It is a daunting task that demands people who can perform. It is the right of Obama to make the selection. So far he is doing well. It shows that he is thinking hard to get the country out of its mess.

People who are negative about him should therefore just button up and "wait and see". Maybe your wishes will come true: maybe they will not.

JARRETT and AXELROD can visit OBAMA; but, only when the attack dog " EMANUEL - CHIEF OF CORRUPTION " is away.

It's all a very interesting indictment actually of how little the general public cares about substance, and are really motivated almost totally by the cult of personality.

Forget about the opinions of what is right or wrong with the former Clinton team; that a new president can tap so many people associated with such a scandal ridden administration speaks volumes about the lack of ethical depth of our population.

Acolytes will argue about witch hunts, or that semen stained dresses don't matter on the larger scale or whatever, but it's beyond debate that the Clinton years will go down in history has notoriously shady, and yet the new president is lauded for tapping many of the same people that were part of that story.

Yes but this is OBAMA the Hope of the world!!! Doesn't matter who he picks, he can do no wrong. In fact before he has even taken office Newsweek has him listed as the #1 most powerful person in the world. (Arguably of course)
On a more serious note... thank you for pointing out the lack of "change" here.

The past eight years of the George Walker Bush Administration were the most stress free (politically speaking) of my entire life. President Bush has been a true blessing to the citizens of the United States. Hopefully, in four years, we will be blessed with Sarah Palin as our President.

It's one thing to give the Pres. a fair assessment but this is ridiculous. Stress free years? Sarah Palin in four years? I know you're joking. Btw, I like your name but no, America did not have "una bella vita" "a beautiful life" under Pres. Bush. I voted for him and I even admit it.

You must not have a child, or know anyone in the military. I have one in the Army, and one who is chompin at the bit to join when he graduates fron highschool. This has been the most horrifying 8 years of my life, and Im guessing the same is true for the millions of parents, spouses, and children of all our honorable military personel. Sara Palin...Uuuuugh! That womans name makes my gag reflex ache! You rebublicans want to talk smack about Obama's associates? Palins pregnant teenage daughter is about to marry into some real fine folks! That crap is absolutely hillarious! Hopefull by the next presidential race Palin will be a judge on Americal Idol. Maybe, just maybe her flute playing skills will qualify her for a seat next to Simon.

"Winning the Media Campaign: How the Press Reported the 2008 General Election.' ' That study found 43 media outlets studied in the six weeks following the conventions through the last debate???Barack Obama???s coverage was slightly more positive than negative (36% vs. 29%)... John McCain???s, in contrast, was substantially negative (57% vs. 14% positive). The report concluded that this, in significant part, reflected and magnified the horse race and direction of the poll "THE COLOR OF NEWS". The center was founded by a former Newsweek reporter.

Wonder why you've never heard of his study? Why people rely on comedians for their news?

PRESS OBJECTIVITY is A MYTH. Google the reports like I did.

rdwhite17, Stop whining. If you want a voice in government, you won't find it with the GOP party of hate.If you want to stay in the gutter with Limbaugh, Hannity, Morris, Robertson, Hagee, Matelin, Delay and Buchanan then you must get used to being on the outside looking in. Etiher shut your pie hole or escape the hate.

Jarrett is candidate #1 by Blago and he had several conversations with Emanuel. Is it any wonder why citizens suspect corruption from the Obama camp?

  • Posted By: rdwhite17 @ 12/29/2008 1:02:17 AM

Axelrod is a lobbyist, and should be dumped. Obama said that he would not have dealings with lobbyists.

Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum told our correspondent that Tel Aviv carried out the strikes after receiving green light from its allies and certain regional countries... Arnt we allies with Isreal? A little off target for this artical, but we are allies with the agressor in this fight? Bushes green light? Smart ppl please explain to me.

Good for Barack! I am glad he has people he can count on and trust. The wing nuts paint all from Chicago corrupt but turn a blind eye to the very corrupt last 8 years when the US Tresury was robbed by republicans and their corporate buddies. Not everyone in Chicago politics is corrupt. Not everyone who worked in the Clinton admin. is corrput either. Cult of personalities ? Just nonsense. I volunteered and voted for Obama because he is a quality person, above the others by 100%. He has a plan and the smarts and resolve to try to fix the mess that the rethuglicants have put us in. Bush's 8 years have been a nightmare and a blight on our country. WE are taking it back from the brink. Humanity Won!
    Goodspeed Obama
    Peace

Dunno. These two are as mixed up in the Rezko machine as one can get without actually being on Michigan Ave. We look forward to new access to the WH by the Daley machine which is already generating problems due to D'affaire Blagojevich. Howard Fineman of NEWSWEAK has found his canary in the cage who comes in the form of Patrick Fitzgerald, the lead US Asst. Attorney now sorting out the statehouse end of Operation BOARD GAMES. If there is pressure by either Axelrod or Jarrett to fire Fitz, there will be unmitigated hell to pay in the early going of the new administration. Obviously Fineman is on it,as are all of the major Chicago dailies who are watching Axelrod,Jarrett and Obama as a bug under a microscope.

    • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 12/27/2008 1:36:39 PM

Isn't it funny that when Patrick Fitzgerald was prosecuting Scooter Libby and interviewing Dick Cheney, he was the focus of so much conservative scorn, but now that Fitzgerald has targeted a democrat, Fitzgerald is a good guy who needs protection, lest the evil democrats try to throw him out?

Corruption is corruption, folks, and at this point Fitzgerald has proven that he doesn't intimidate easliy, no matter which party sits in the White House.

The people have spoken, and Obama was given the power by an obvious landslide! Let the man rule the house! All this microscopic hairsplitting, nittpicking is going to do nothing for our country if our new leader is forced to focus on defending himself everytime he sits on the toilet! Obama has stepped up to the plate with the unwavering support and loyalty of Axelrod and Jarrett. This is obviously a brilliant trio who was able to overcome some tremendous odds in the United States. This by itself commands respect. Regardless of who could have, or should have taken the White House, Barack Obama DID and we must trust him to clean house! All you cry babies who want to bring him down before he is even able to move to 1600 Pennslyvania Ave. GET OVER IT!!! And ask yourself this question, *of all the candidates who started out in this historical rat race, which one do you really, no I mean REALLY think could clean up the mess the Bush administration has created?

Sorry, but you forgot to ask President Bush. Much of what is happening today is due to their actions. Including the fight against global warming. Law culminating in a was Bush who forced the U.S. automakers to produce cars powered by hydrogen.
