This recognition stands as a testimony of the goodness of God upon the live of Pastor E.A. Adeboye. One thing is sure, if we can focus on the important things that God demands of us, every other thing we be in place. Also, this is a testimony to the genuiness of the grace of God upon his life. Whatever truly comes from God, if well nutured, must stand the test of time. Akinjide Ogundokun

I am so excited that in the midst of the groundswell of lopsided and global misinformation about Nigeria by western media and some arm-chair journalists in Europe and the US, Newsweek deem it fit to name Pastor Adeboye among 50 'Global Elite' listing. Pastor Adeboye exemplifies humility, charisma and strong faith in God. I wish the world will look at the good things in Nigeria and stop amplifying the misdeeds of the miscreants. Kester Osahenye

Pastor E.A Adeboye is a true prophet and a man of God filled with the Holy spirtit.
During the ministers/workers conference meeting in Floyd, daddy preached about Elisha and Elijah . He later
told us to look at him, and to ask God for the gift of the spirit each of us desired in him.
I asked God for two specific things that I desire in daddy and God has granted them unto me.
I am a believer, redeemer and Christ follower through His true prophet, daddy G.O,

Pastor Adeboye have consistently remain faithful to his calling. The impact that his ministry and message have made over the years is global in dimension. What separates him form oher penticostal preachers is that he seeks to decrease while God increases. I will rather categorise him among the top 50 men of consciense and integrity.

It's commendable that Newsweek found a space for Pastor Adeboye in its compilation of the Global Elite, thereby drawing attention to the Pentecostal branch of the christian church , of which he's one it's most influential, acknowledged leaders. He was one of the speakers in the Centennial anniversary of the Azusa street revival in 2006, where the beginning of the modern pentecostal move of God had its roots. He's an exemplary leader, a very humble prophet of God endued with so much grace to carry out the task God has entrusted him with.

Newsweek's choice is even more pertinent as the world celebrate the birth of Jesus, the founder of christianity, a faith that has been under attack by secularists aided by the media. For instance, Polly Toynbee, the president of the British Humanist Association, used her platform in the Guardian to launch an attack on God and those who believe in His son on 23/12/2008; her christmas message was irreverently titled, 'There is probably no God'. But the church of God marches on and the gates of Hell which has not prevailed over it in the last 2000 years, cannot overcome it.

In as much as this article reflects what some of us have known about Daddy GO for a long time, I doubt if the man himself will be impressed with being identified as a global elite. If you have ever been in the same room with this man of God, you will realize that his presence does not intimidate. He is a very humble man, and a role model. I have listened to many preachers, but he is in a different class! Of course, he does not cherish any of these accolades people like me might shower on him.

So my prayer is that God will use this simple recognition to draw many more souls on to Jesus Christ.

The west came to us with christianity, commerce and banking. Now africa is re-xporting christianity to the profane west who supports Gay, Lesbianism and other Vices. Africa today, had been forgiven the years of idolatry of the past through the works of the ADEBOYES of this generation.

Let it be known that God is just starting with Daddy G.O. A Redeemer shall be in every family of the world. Nigeria is not only re-exporting christianity with humility, through adeboye, but silently re-exporting banking.

It is time for the west to turn to God. Adeboye and Obama are the signals to the west that power is changing hand now: as divinely directed by God. The human redemption will surely come through Africa.

It is not by accident that an african was named no 1 and 49th . The addition of the two makes the 50. No 1 stands for First among equals. 49 stands for Pefect Perfection which are Daddy stands for.

Very soon, the list will be dominated by africans, and people of african extraction.

We need a little mess to grow - as messy as it is here, a celebrated man of God hails from here too!

Newsweek, thank you. It's good to give honour to whom honour is due.

The most powerful political job is now in the hands of an African-American from Kenya. Now, the most powerful spiritual job is being handled by no less than Daddy GO.

I'm not surprised: My few encounters with Daddy GO and his numerous sermons show him as being simple - and honest to a fault.

I pray that you join the Pentecostal Movement by believing the Message of the Lord through Pastor Adeboye.

Am I the only one that thinks that it's slightly worrying that a 'Man of God' is one of the 'Global Elite'? Most people will see this as an endorsement of their favourite pastor or an African pastor, but is that a good thing? I don't expect this to be popular, but isn't this missing the point? Do you think Jesus was in the top 50 most powerful people while he was on earth?

In response to a previous comment about Africa being the centre of gravity for the Pentecostal Movement, the Pentecostal Movement that I know of is self-centred - It's all about me and what God will do for me: how he will bless me, heal me and keep me from harm - and not others-, or God-centred. It is popular in Africa because most of us are poor and afflicted and pastors are salesmen, selling a fix to my problem - It's like capitalism in the church of God!

I think the church in Africa and our pastors needs to shift focus from self, megachurches and global elitism to social justice and God! I don't think there's much point having churches in Asia when the ones in our home land aren't doing their job!

    Dear Lisa,
Your article is not very far from the truth. You did some research on this man of God indeed!
Honestly speaking, I doubt if Pastor Adeboye will be moved that he is being recognised as one of the top 50th Global Elite and that he was the only black African on the list. Not because he would not appreciate your efforts- but I???m sure what interests him most is if you and majority of readers of your write-up accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour. In addition, he wishes that at least a member of each family all over the word be a partner with him in this God ordained project.
Pastor Adeboye I know is a God sent for our generation. My prayer is that he will not go to meet the one that sent him unhappy? I pray his vision and dreams (church planting and soul winning) be fulfilled in Jesus name. It???s unfortunate, today, that most people worship science instead of their maker (God). This should not surprise us because Jesus warned of this in Gospel according to St. Matthew 24: 24 when He said "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (NKJV)
Wishing all Merry Christmas and Happy and Prosperous New Year.

The watchword of Daddy Adeboye is "Holiness" without which, the bible says no man shall see the Lord. The world will further proclaim the great and mighty works God is using and will yet use this humble servant of His to accomplish. Daddy, may the Lord preserve you and continue to anoint you for greater service in Jesus name. (Amen)

Gratifying to see a Pentecostal of African descent cited in this list. Africa is indeed the new centre of gravity for the Pentecostal movement (in spite of what the Americans think about their Pentecostal preachers). I am a keen student of Pentecostalism myself, having grown up in a church (Assemblies of God) which was pioneered in South Africa by one of the greatest Pentecostal leaders, the late Nicholas Bengu. I salute Ps Adeboye for the level of influence he has achieved. May God continue using him in spreading the Gospel.
