    Captain1961 is a fool!

You realize, let's say the Obama team talked to Blag and said "We think this person is a good candidate" and that's all, then all they are offering is appreciation, because THEY DIDN'T OFFER ANYTHING.
They didn't call him up and say "Blago, we can't offer you money but we'll like you if you choose this person!"

All this proves is that the author is a Republican. So what. Republicans hate Democrats. I am sure if he had a chance he would waterboard Obama and his whole family. He is just stirring up hatred like all the other Republicans. Nothing to see people move along...

Its gratifying to see Mr Isikoff renewed interest in being an investigative reporter - where was his inquisitive nature about Obama's links to Blago, Rezko and the corrupt Chicago machine when it really mattered during the primary and main election campaign? Certainly there was enough evidence of Obama's political opportunism (quasi corruption)in deaingl with any retired domestic terrorist, anti-American racist pastor, corrupt political fixer and their ilk that furthered Obama's political and financial interests. Now will Mr Michael apply some of his skills to inquire into Hillary Clinton's refusal to correct false FEC returns from 2006 regarding Peter Paul's $1.2 million expenditures to her Senate campaign at Hillary's request, direction and coordination? Will he delve further into eric Holder's role in the Rich pay for pardon deal that Denise Rich told intimates involved $250 million for Mark and Pincus to walk? Hope springs eternal.that once an investigative journalist means it might happen again. The Republic is in desperate need of it now.

Are you kidding? THAT'S what you'd use subpoena power for? Not Cheney and the Energy Commission? Not Bush and his real reasons for invading Iraq? No wonder this country is the Titanic. There was a time when journalists used to have brains.

Amazing, all of the hate spewed by the commentators to this article. Where were you when Newsweek was publishing unverified stories about Sarah Palin? The press finally decides to ask questions of Obama and the left wing goes crazy. When one looks at the history of Rahm Emanuel and Chicago politics, it is hard to believe that he did not get a sniff of what Blagojevich was doing. In fact it is downright incredulous that a person as abrasive as Emanual is that they would not have gotten down into the nitty gritty during the conversations. Remember it is always about the cover up and if Obama is serious about change he will want and deserves to come into office with a squeaky clean team

Excellent questions....I wonder if they will be answered?

Newsweek is not about unbiased reporting. Newsweek will side step the TRUTH for income enhancement. Newsweek is hardly where you point when looking for integrity and facts. Unfortunately there are a lot of ignorant people in America and Newsweek sucks up to them.

No one is asking the real question: What did Obama have to pay and to whom to get HIS senate seat?

If you had been this diligent on politicians 4,400 of our soldiers would still be alive. In fact 5 questions to the Bush administration regarding their pre-911 warnings, discussion, presidential briefings, etc, would have lead and still would lead to some interesting answers. But no, you waste our going after someone that's not even in charge yet. Very sad.

Michael Isikoff just isnt a good reporter...none of this is "news" its not insightful in any way, the public is not interested in what this writer has to say. In sports this writer would be referred to as a "hater." What the writer fails to address is that he is "lowly" because he is not able to offer arguments that present a complete picture, this is a deadline article. The "Boss" needed some more material and this is all the guy could come up with...5 weird non-sensical questions that offer nothing to the public welfare on the topic material.

I am sure the Barack Obama organization had many discussions with the governor and staff. No moves were made to appoint anyone. Blagojevich is obviously dishonest and I am sure it was obvious to Obama's team. So what?

Since when asking a question about selling a Senate Seat became a right-wing issue. Demanding to know the truth, should be an American issue (IRRESPECTIVE OF WHO IS BEING ASKED). There was no attack on our soil since September 11, maybe Bush did do something right, the history will show. But this is not about George W. This is about how deep the corruption goes in Chicago and how corrupt is our new president. Corrupt politics will not cure our economic problems, it will not protect our borders, it will not make life better for us, the American people. This is not Change 62 million people voted for.

    Five Questions for Michael Isikoff:

    1. As previously commented, where on earth were your five questions for George W. Bush?

    2. Are you actually asking President-Elect Obama to come clean on statements made by Blagojevich? Not on Obama comments, but on something Blagojavich said...and then asking for defensive proof regarding those comments? I don't think a judge will uphold your subpoena on that matter.

    3. You realize who you are, right, you're Michael Isikoff. That's not the question. The question is: Do you realize you are of such known stature that you probably CAN get answers to these questions, direct from the sources? I'm pretty sure Obama, Fitzgerald, etc, will at least have spokespeople respond to you.

    4. Why would you ask President Obama's administration if they would keep Fitzgerald in office?? Follow-up: You do realize there's a difference (a 'change,' if you will) between the two administrations.

    5. This is a very important question. Do you and/or your editor realize how un-Isikoff this article is, bereft of journalistic quality or entertainment value?

Have your spokespeople respond with their spin at once.
