sharkman -- the largest depression in world history has already hit us. We're just feeling the calm before the hurricane (i remember Huricane Andrew - i was there). I really doubt that Obama or anybody else can protect us from it. Right now, however, Obama happens to be our only shot.

And one more thing... the 8-yr Bush legacy has left us reeling in despair. The economy is devastated. The environment is ravaged. Our global integrity as honest men and women has been compromised. President-elect Obama has taken on a challenge that few men would have the courage to confront. If he is guilty of any misconduct then let the evidence speak louder than Michael Isikoff. And let me repeat, Mr. Obama is not yet in any position to manipulate this investigation or to obfuscate evidence in the in the manner of his predecessors.

It's a dirty job he has taken on, and the damage done by his predecessors is sooo overwhelming that very few would actually want to embark on this task. For God's sake, and for all of us - let the man do his work.

An afterthought: maybe you are hoping for a "Florida re-count"?

If the election were still running Mr. Isikoff, i would have to assume that the McCain-Palin camp had put you up to this. As it is, i can't for the life of me understand why you would continue to use the same smear tactics that were instrumental in losing the election for the repubs. In case you've been out of the loop recently, let me spell it out for you: It's over. Obama won. Give it up. already. We are tired of listening to people like you.

A further thought ... I've had it with this sort of vile inuendo ... I will be recommending to all friends and aquaintances that they diregard Newsweek and stop placing Ads or maintaining subscriptions ... it is a fair way to conteract such drivel as there are 'choices' in news magazines that will nor insult my or their intelligence.

You dont have subpoena power Mr. Isikoff, as it turns out. And you aren't the first to ask these questions. If there were any merit in them, you can bet your word processor that somebody with subpoena power would be asking them through formal investigative channels. Yours is just unwarranted innuendo.

Actually if I was the editor of Newsweek I's give you your walking papers and steer you towards Fox News ....

I agree with the previous post, you are full of yourself and a fraud as a journalist

i agree with rafael h. -- the focus of these questions is ust another smear campaign. The electio is over. Obama won. These tactics have failed already. let it go! Mr. Obam is not controlling or manipulating this investigation and if he is in any way accountable, you can be sure the current administration will let us know.

If the U S Attorney's Office has requested the Obama Team to defer from answer questions or making comments about this political tradegy, what makes people like Michael Isikoff , whom I read reglarly and respect greatly think he can be different.

Like some of the other readers I thinkl this line of questioning is out of line at this point in the investigation. Seems to me that Mr. Michael Isikoff is attempting to try the entire Obama team in the media eventhough Mr. Fitzgerald has said publicly that nor he or his staff are the subject of the investigation.

The President-Elect said he would make all of the inforation available when it is appropriate to do so and ok'd by the U S Attorney's office. Why can people like Michael Isikoff be satisfied with that aswer.. Don't call it a lie before it becomes one.. That is hypocritical sir.

This article is absolutely garbage journalism and I'm doing the author a favour by calling it "Journalism" ... Tripe that smells!

  • Posted By: Rafael H. @ 12/21/2008 12:45:07 AM

I don't agree with your questions. I think they are pure sensationalism. They are not to the point. They are not honest questions. Your are just trying to take advantage of the situation in order to pose as a good journalist. But this is not good, honest journalism.

I don't agree with your questions. I think they are just pure sensationalism. They are not clear, or to the point. You are just using a situation for the sake of your business. We don't need this kind of journalism. We are tired of it.

The only difference between Al Capone's mobsters of 60 years ago and Gov. Rod Blagojevich's blatent pandering is the amount of money paid for the "Rent" on the Senate seat. Money, Scandals and murder are simply the proof of Government that is rotten to the core.

I appreciate and agree with your questions. Not that we wish to embarass or harass President Elect, but this is just good journalism. Keep up the good work.

I think these are all excellent questions. Keep up the heat, not because Obama is suspect, but because this is just good journalism. We need to know to go forward with our trust. Thank you .
