This is kind of funny, because no health nut would eat granola. They all look for sugar (evaporated cane juice) on the label, and aviod like they would MSG. "health food" is mislabeled by the establishment food distributors, the same way as "recycled" is deliberately mislabeled by the lumber industry and their cronies in Congress.

Good point that just because it's more natural doesn't mean you can eat 10 times as much. However, his article only compares calories and fat. It leaves out that the above mentioned snacks may contain more fiber and nutrients and leave the snacker feeling more satisfied. Plus, appetite stimulants such as MSG and refined carbs in the opposing traditional snacks may make it hard to stop snacking. While making a valid point, these types of articles also make it sound as if there is no point in trying healthier snacks and share the narrow point of view that the only measure of health is fat and calorie content.

A distinct problem of these kinds of articles, and Ms. Peng should know better, is that the QUALITY of the oils in the products is not discussed. Oil quality is crucial for good health. I am holding a bag of Terra sweet potato chips and out of 11 grams fat per serving, only i gram is saturated and 0 grams are trans-fat. In addition, the ingredients are simple with nothing artificial. Why did not Ms.Peng offr a more balanced and complete article?
