To fix some major prob lets start with these illegal imigrants, GM or BIG 3, and the economy and healthcare.

Give every american $100 dollars for every illegal they deport.
This saves the Big 3 cause sells on large commercial vans and truck to deport people in will go up, gives people spending money to stimulate the economy, and once the illegals are deported it will take a load of our Healthcare systems as well as welfare etc.

This country had been slowly evolving into that which we have sacrificed countless lives opposing--a militant nation with an agenda driven by religious extremists who promote freedom of thought only so long as it does not conflict with their own ideas. Sound familiar? We had become the enemy.

Ever since the 1960's, the GOP consistently has been, and will always be, the party of exclusion, the party that attempts to diminish those who look different than themselves, pray to a different deity, or follow a different lifestyle. They are the party that uses fear and hatred as a weapon to intimidate any who do not share their points of view. The GOP offers 20th century solutions to 21st century problems.

It is time for a fresh perspective, a new philosophy of America's place in the world. It can no longer be us versus them at all costs; the world is far too small for such a narrow-minded point of view.

It is time to embrace those who are different than ourselves and accept them for who they are--it would be the "christian" thing to do. President-elect Obama is the perfect person to lead our nation in this cause and once again transform our nation into a positive, democratic beacon for the rest of the world.

Americans need to step back and look at themselves. I've seen American tourists who are dumbfounded that all foreigners do not speak English. Why do most foreigners who come to America learn English, but most Americans who travel never think about learning a foreign language. I think it should be manditory for all people to live abroad and really learn about the culture in foreign lands before they are allowed to travel as tourists. If only we would walk a mile in each others shoes before we condemn each other, than maybe we would se that people are people wherever you go, good ones, bad ones, indifferent ones. Politics and religion are the main forces that keep citizens of the world apart, if you can accept others for what is truly in their hearts and not worry about whaat God they follw, or what their political beliefs are then we all would live a much better life on this earth.

bcarr22, you are the perfect example of what I was trying to discuss: An ignorant American who embarrasses the rest of us. Because of your type, we look like fools and idiots to the rest of the world but of course, your indignation shows that you really don't care about anything but yourself. Fortunately, Europeans are smarter than YOU and understand the pain that some of us go through.

The biggest problem with Americans is that they only intermingle with Americans. Unlike Europe and a great deal of the globe, we do not have any other countries and cultures that we must individually deal with on a regular basis. We like to believe that we are ???Multi-cultural??? (whatever that is). We do, however, resent anyone that does not speak our English language to our standards, low as they are. Most of us do not make an effort to even learn another language, let alone culture. If the majority of Americans had the opportunity to travel more and see first hand that there are a great deal of different cultures, languages, religions, etc., our perceptions would change. We must stop looking down at the rest of the world. This will increase, not decrease our influence.

Total typical mainstream media BS. My personal view is, I don't give a $&%! what any other country thinks about us. No more than they are concerned about what we think of them. Do you REALLY think that as Pierre enters the voting booth in Paris, he stops to wonder what Americans will think of his vote and who they elect as leader of France? Get real. Get over yourself. This article is yet another hollow attempt by a marginally talented writer to come off as the smartest guy in the room and hang the world's woes on GWB. Frankly, I LIKE the fact that other countries never knew what to expect our president to do. Keeps the terrorists off balance. Keeps them from attacking us, since they fear reprisals.

Do you doubt that among terrorist organizations, there weren't conversations along the lines of, "If we attack now, GWB will very likely retaliate against us. Let's wait until the new, weaker president is in office to attack. He won't have the stomach for reprisals."

The first thing needed is to eliminate truth terrorism. It starts with removing the scumbags from the US press who try to make news by twisting any activity into a conflict situation, who lie, who use innuendo, who are grossly biased and without any sense of morals.
