jeters1fan,
I do not see it your way. Parents form the personality of their children whether they know it not not.
Deficiencies in parenting are likely to result in undesirable consequences later on.
Apart from that, I don't think it is acceptable behavior to hire a PR firm, and a house wife who runs a blog, in order to misrepresent the case to the public.
The general public is not mentally sufficient and is quite capable of drawing their own conclusion.
It just seem that not everyone is happy with conclusions people might draw, especially when they know how Ms Knox had been very uncooperative with the police and even worse has framed an innocent person.
If Knox were innocent, would she have a motive to frame anyone?
.
I have neither sympathy for Ms Knox nor for her parents.
If shes guilty ------ burn her ! US ties mean nothing here . Lets hope the truth comes out ! We do not need another wierdo on the streets , regardless of age or looks , there are plenty of them already ! Let justice be served ! Drugs are no excuse for anything ! And ignorance is no cop out , blame the parents too , if she had been tought right in the beginning , she would not have even been in this situation . Just what did Mom and Dad instill into thier child ? Or did the folks have too much money and thought they could buy brains for thier child ? What a senseless situation ! I'll bet with a proper upbringing , this would have never happened ! Get it right Italy , the world is watching !! Me too !!!!!!!!!
Ironic you should say that elizaz. That's what O.J. defenders have said since hes was acquitted 13 years ago.
Funny you should say that elizaz, that's why defenders of O.J. have been saying since he was acquitted 13 years ago. sound familiar?
If she is guilty--------- burn her . US ties mean nothing ! Let the facts come out and let justice be served , we don't need another weirdo walking around our world , we have enough of them already !
Judging from your photo accused Amanda Knox is no great beauty. I am surprised that this issue would come up in a country so famous for style and beauties as Italy.
However that is not the issue here really. Someone has died a horrible death. I hope the truth can be found out and justice served.
While it may be of some entertainment value to sensationalize this tragedy, I suggest we all take a step back and understand that a person's freedom is at stake. If she is guilty, then she should go to prison... but this case has been left to the public assessing false and exaggerated stories by the Italian press. If you study the case a bit further, you will see that Amanda was coerced by authorities, the prosecution refused to share the "evidence" in the beginning and even tried to extort the family for 50,000 euros to allow them to examine the evidence against their daughter, the prosecutor Giuliano Mignini is under investigation for abuse of power and much of the witness statements and evidence are far from reliable. No death should go unpunished, but one shouldn't be pinned with a guilty tag on crappy evidence just to "close the case".
Being suspected of having instigated a horrific murder is nothing to be proud of.
Will the media continue to present Amanda Knox in an endearing way even after the verdict is proclaimed?
The first of the three has already received a 30 years sentence.
Does anyone actually expect a different outcome for Amanda Knox?
I'm tired of the media making out like she's being mistreated. If she doesn't like prison then she shouldn't have killed someone. It's that simple. Or, as that so-so actor used to say "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time" -- and then years later he murdered his wife, in real life.
.Dear Sandra,
Paul Ciolino is not a lawyer, he did a short online course and became a so-called investigator. It cost perhaps as little as a few hundred dollars. It is actually a rather meaningless and unacademic piece of paper that anyone can get if they went to school for a year or two. In most States of America no credential is needed to work as an investigator, the word sounds better and bigger than what the profession is if it can be called a profession at that level.
He was prosecuted and fined in America, check it out, type his name and check him out, I think it was in Indiana, can't remember because he is entirely unimportant and uninteresting to me, he has said some very ill-informed things and has spoken abusively to people online when not getting his way, he is quite incapable,it seems, of balanced, intelligent and fair debate. going by what he said.
There are only a few, if that, popeople who have come out with well-informed and insightful articles, one of the skilled people who has not shown a bias, is Van Zandt.
What has been happening is the transfer of roles, where Knox is placed in the role of victim and the case is undermined accusing others of foul play whilst the actual ones guilty of that are all attached in some way, either independently or voluntarily, around Knox and co.
Dear Barbie,
I have edited my post, I could hardly see what I was writing, your font is very faint.
Perhaps you can remove my other post with the typos in it.
Your piece is misleading because it contains inaccurate info'.
In an Italian court there are no juries.
When you write the word jury you lead people who know the British and American courts to imagine that the jury will then decide who is guilty or innocent, but it is the judge in the Italian court who decides.
The set-up in Italy behind the concept of a jury is then entirely different to a British or American system where it definitely is the jury that gets to decide who is guilty.
In Italy, experts may also offer expert testimony/advice but the judge is not bound legally to observe anything the so-called experts say in court.
A psychologist can say a defendant is stark raving mad and not accountable but in no way does the judge have to take that into consideration and act on it, the judge can send the defendant to prison even if an expert says the defendant needs to be sent to a hospital.
If Knox pleads insanity, and the judge disagrees, he/she can send her down.
Terminology and words English-Italian
jury-giuria
juror-giurato
lay person- laico
judge-guidice
Therefore Guidici Popolari does not mean a jury, it means a judge who is a lay-person, meaning a person who is untrained in law, it is also not a popular jury.
Barbie, you have repeated these mistakes here, all of the mistakes are all over the newspapers, it seems journalists copy one another instead of doing their homework, even on the Italian Ministry of Justice website there are many poorly translated articles.
Antonyms of layman/lay-person

English- Layman (lay-person)- someone who is not professional or trained in a particular field

I think it may be a real kindness to the bereaved Kercher family if the terrible details revealed at the trial are not associated so closely to her memory. The suspects are on trial and their actions examined, not Meredith's. It is a different story. God bless and uplift all who grieve.
Trial of the century? We think not.
The Italian justice system will sort this out at trial. The last paragraph in this article is perhaps the most important:
"Whatever the outcome of the criminal trial, it's clear that the focus on the real victim has already been lost in the lead-up to Italy's trial of the admittedly young century. Knox's infamy will only continue to grow as details from the trial make titillating headlines for the next year or longer. And Meredith Kercher will likely be only a small detail among those stories."
It's important as commenters about the case to keep Meredith and her family a priority. In my opinion, many of the media outlets have lost sight of who the REAL victim is - Meredith. Thanks to Ms. Nadeau for acknowledging this in her article.
There is something deeply unsettling about this woman, I can't exactly put my finger on it, but I have a feeling that there is something really dark about her aura.
with this happening the way that it did, and in the head Christian World, I hope that many people learn alot from this. Color was not an issue at all here. There are many people from african coutnries that have lived in Italy for years and have lived there with their neighbors in peace. Right now, stereotyping only clouds the issure. However, I do know that there are strict laws for the citizens adn worse for the non citizens. And I cant see how anyone who happens to not be a native of that country woudl ever feel comfortable enough to just not give a crap about how harsh the laws are for even stealing a stick of gum when they are not from that country. If you people have forgotten, there are organized crime bosses that are native to the country that just seem to find a niche for over riding the law at times especially if you owe them money......
I thought is was completely implausible when I read some time ago that the former criminal defense lawyer Paul Ciolino proclaimed that there is not a shred of evidence against Amanda Knox even though there is formidable evidence against the prime murder suspect Amanda Knox.
What disturbed me is that the former criminal defense lawyer holds himself out as a private investigator.
I believe this is very significant, for the public would assess information tendered by an independent private investigator differently than that of a criminal defense lawyer.
they do not seem to have done much to stop the commora which controls naples, but perhaps they will get this one right.
