"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. "........ A quote from Thomas Jefferson in 1802

Every time a "gimmie gimmie" liberal wants the government to give them something....remember, first the government has to take it away from someone else first.

Bush has done evrything during his tenure WRONG! He has one more day to change it! Remember? between 1954 to 2000 US deficit 1.4 trillions. During this catastophic administration the US deficit jumped to 55 trillions!!!! What 3 generations were not able to do this idiotic lider put us in the red for 3 generations to come!!! And you found something nice to say about him??? Well...

  • Posted By: cloudy2000 @ 01/15/2009 2:41:02 PM

with 9/11 he did well; our response was proper and and timely and we have them on the run in their house; not ours. The previous administration had numerous opportunites to settle with the USS Cole and the other related incidents and didn'. I give him an A+ on that note. As far as Saddam was concerned; he was manageable and kept the Iranians at bay. We could have managed him indefinitly at much less cost.

That is all you have for 8years!! The list of what he screwed up and with which we suffer from now I think out weighs the little matters you point out. By the way we paid the Sunni not to fight.

I believe again Bush has been cut short. With all that was left undone by the Clnton Administration and having 9-11 land in his lap, I continue to praise Bush's efforts, his strength and his will to make the world safer. I truly think Obama should do a little more studying of what has happened as well as why before he decides it is "Time for Change" throughout the entire world.

The U.S do well to try Bush and his cronies for war crimes agaisnt humanity ,not only for his unlawful invasion of Iraq but also the impunity and arrogance he has shown for humanity by giving Israel a cart blanch to do and massacare as it pleases in Gaza through provision of the controversial Dime and phosphorus bombs . It is a pity that the western world is steeped in double standard and racism just to protect Israel's interest and ignore the halaucost committed by the Jewish state against the defenceless palestinians

Spoken as a true Bushie apologist. He got Iraq WRONG, WRONG, and WRONG again. He got Afghanistan wrong, thought we had won there 5 years ago. Gave up the fight when we actually had a chance to eliminate the taliban and Al-Quaida. Small wonder this character is from a right wing so called "think tank". A true Bushie, never admit to the truth, keep repeating the lies and some people will be fooled.

THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT AND OUR GREAT AND WONDERFUL BRAVE SOLDIERS. Comments
In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. Thankfully after 9/11 President Bush and our Great Soldiers have prevented another attack on American soil by taking the war back to SADDAM,THE GODFATHER OF ISLAMIC STATE-SPONSORED TERRORISM.

Those of us that love American and the freedom that we have can never thank you enough!!!!! More truth at: http://www.commandments.us No matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection from the Terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die? So who are we at war with? There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists.

Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting. We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question: What does losing mean? It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get. What losing really means is: We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us over the past 18 years. The plan is clearly for terrorists to attack us, until we are neutered and submissive to them, If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We'd better know it too!!

THE WORST PRESIDENCY IN THE COUNTRY HISTORY!! NEED WE SAY MORE????

    • Posted By: sevenhearts @ 01/15/2009 2:29:59 PM

Yes. There should be no limit on two terms for a president. Bush would get my vote.

He failed, and ruin the country... Charge him for warcrimes and crimes againist humanity. BUSH=Fail

Thats crazy talk. Obviously your safe your writing here.

The Whitehouse was warned about this. There were many people who went to the Whitehouse to warn of the subprime lending crisis to come but were completly ignored. There was a lot of money being made. Now we are in it. Bush Sr. is the first person to publicly saw " New World Order " Prescot Bush ( GW's grandfather ) was the head of a bank that laundered money for Hitler during World War two. Look it up. This family is evil. They play their part in the end game.

Someone did see it coming. President Bush tried to put together legislation back in 2003 and John McCain tried again in 2005. Both times it was blocked by the Democrats, like Barney Franks, Chriss Dodd, and Harry Reid. Of course the fact that thier relatives and friends made millions off of bad banking deals didn't have anything to do with it. And now we see those same people standing up before America, with a straight face, and demanding regulations be put in place to make sure this doesn't happen again and "they" will be in charge of over seeing those regulations. Sort of like putting the fox in charge of the hen house or in this case the burglar in charge of watching the bank at night.

Frum is delusional. His analysis is like saying a felon deserves a break because he dropped a dollar in the Salvation Army bucket. The only positive contribution I can recall that Bush has made in the world is his efforts against Aids in Africa which has born fruit. Even that is debatable since a large portion of his efforts were based on abstinence instead of the realities of life.

I find it very funny that everyone feells live is going to change in 5 days. Get Real. Preisdent Bush did what need to be done when it came to war on terrorism. I guess evryone wishes Sadam was still alive and still a threat to us wheter or not there were weapons of mass distruction. Everyone's hero Bill CLITon ignored the problem in Iraq and overseas. Al Gore or even everyone's new favorite Obama would have hid after 9/11. To say that either war effort was a waste would be a grave injustice to our men and women who have lost their lives over there or are continually fighting on a daily basis.

    • Posted By: adam6672 @ 01/15/2009 1:05:52 PM

Saddam was evil man, but there are MANY evil men in this world that our President has ignored. Explain that please. Saying that Gore would have run has identified you as a necon as opposed to an intelligent conservative such as the author of this article. People who praise Bush never cease to amaze me. "He kept us safe". How? Saying that he kept us safe becasue we weren't attacked is based on specious reasoning. Give me specific examples how he helped this country be safe. All I see is an inept president who did nothing more than make millions of new enemies. Where's Bin Laden? Can you honestly tell me that all of our resources have been used to find him. The real disservice to the brave people fighting for our is the fact that they don't have proper equipment or support, and we don't have an exit strategy. To me, that is treasonous.

      • Posted By: sevenhearts @ 01/15/2009 2:07:09 PM

Proper Equipment arrivals will never end. They get them periodically as quick as tested and delivered. We don't know anything. You won't know this. It would be too risky for us to know all of this. Go get the proper education and try all this on your own. While you are at it. Think how hard it is for you to do such a thing and then maybe no one will call Bush reta--ed which I find an insult to Bush and to our mentally challenged/ handicapped citizens. That word is so missused. Spread the love. I love all of you. God Bless.

        • Posted By: sevenhearts @ 01/15/2009 2:23:26 PM

Also....................Aiding and bedding there were connections with Alqaeda seeding refuge in Iraq and chemical and biological weapons are where the WMD's came into play. Bush warned, Bush warned, Bush warned Bush warned. No actions taken forward by Saddam, fascinating how all those bunkers were built underground and some are to be YET found/ discovered/ analyzed/ tested/ waiting periods for lab results/ this is not even over yet. It will be a whole other tremendous Chapter. I love you Bush Family. I wish you the best always. Now you can relax without you being incriminated. I could do this all day. This is my last comment. I love being an American. Have you hugged someone today? :)

Mention Bush's administration and the movie Keystone Cops comes to mind. What a knit wit. The man can not even speak without making up words, just like many comedians do. This goes to show just what his thought process must be like.

He and his administration lied to the American people on so many things, they should be tried as criminals.

    • Posted By: Californian @ 01/15/2009 2:21:52 PM

      Wendy,
The word is actually "nit-wit." Or perhaps "knit wit" is just a phrase you made up....you know, like the comedians do.

Bush may have not personally been directly responsible for the economic crisis, but good heavens someone on his staff should have seen this coming. Paulson, another Wall Street buddy, comes rushing in one day and says "we need $700 million dollars NOW". And what did they do with it? Gave half to his friends. No matter where this started, the fact that there was no one competent enough to see the end was coming is ridiculous. This all boils down to greed and had President Bush had any moral compass he would have put a stop to it. Since I doubt he knew there was a problem himself, at least there should have been someone who told him it was coming - just like he was told 9/11 was coming - and he ignored that also.

    President Clinton:
2million + new jobs in his first term... unbridled economic growth and the only president in a century to eliminate the deficit and decrease national debt.
The worst presidents were on either side of him...
