Bush also doubled foreign aid worldwide over the past eight years. Approval ratings for the United States exceed 80% in many African countries, even with large Muslim populations. In Darfur, many families name their newborn sons George Bush. US exports to Africa have more than doubled and African exports to the US have tripled since 2001 which will allow Africa to escape poverty. He humanitarian efforts should be applauded.

Obama supporters ...as well as all Americans can only hope and pray that Barrack isn't faced with a 9-11....What was the correct reaction? How to fight an enemy who has no borders or regard for human life...not even their own...iis a dilemma for the ages...Bush said very early on that this conflict would not be a short one...Our fast food, half hour sit-com society wants everything quickly and painlessly. The war on terror will never end.

Hm... so killing over 1,000,000 Iraqi civilians and thousands of Americans in order to secure oil that's to be sold to India and China is a good move on Bush's part? How about suspending our civil liberties - the very things that make us American - under the pretense of national security? How about making the rich richer and poor poorer? Ignoring the disaster in Katrina? Let's over look these, please.

This article is obvious propaganda and I'm not suprised that it would come from a MIcrosoft network. So the things we should consider good from Bush's presidency are, apparently, that he set up FUTURE WARS FOR US TO FIGHT? Arming India? Turning South and Central American countries against each other? That's the best you could come up with? You might as well say that Reagan was our greatest president for arming Iran with the weapons that it's now using to kill American troops in Iraq. Bravo.

David Frum, please stop demonstrating how little journalists actually think. You're making the profession look worse than it already does.

Bush will be seen in 50 years as a Great leader who transfored the muslim world and led the liberalization of Islam the same way that Germany and Japan were transformed. Zero Birthrates in Europe will bring Islamic Rule over Eurabia within 100 years. The present day feminized Western man who has fallen from Richard the Lionheart to Richard Simmons just doesnt get it. There are NO gay parades in the muslim world but you wont hear ellen degenerate and the rest of the pretend to be liberals in San fran SICKO squaking about that.. No, instead they hate Bush who was smart enough to see what was in the best interest of all in a post 9/11 world. The war was so much about oil as it was a race against time...We either liberalize the muslim world while there is still time or they rule over us all in due to the demographic reality of the future. Thats a fact of life that the idiot left never want to confront. Will it work? Probably not.
The muslims are not interested in having their children grow up in a sewer culture. The Muslims still have what the western man lost long ago...a shread of Honor...they refuse to be the Stooges of the jews that the west has become.
History will show Bush at least tried but the weaklings he was trying to lead had long since givin up.

Bush had a very successful presidency up until the Democrats took control of the Senate, then he became a lame duck. I am thankful there has been no attack on our soil since 9/11; we have him to thank; and we can only hope the new administration's "change" doesn't change that.

People continue to blame the media for the negative portrayal of "W"- but the media is only responsible for showing us the ignorance that is George W Bush. I am grateful that I live in the greatest country in the world, and that I am not given only filtered down versions of only what the government wants me to see and believe. This is a case of- you???ve made your bed??? I've seen many instances where ???W??? himself created this negative perception, so much so that Webster's can now add a new word- "Bushism" Definition- any comment or incomplete sentence that is unintelligible, unintelligent, and/or ignorant. The media didn't make him cheat his way through every school he ever attended, they only highlight the great probability that he did!

As I commence to express my sentiments pertaining to this specific topic ???Where Bush was right???? I optimistically hope that my comments are not misinterpreted nor expressed out of context. It would be ever so nice to one day wake up with our press and many of us not portraying our leadership as the world???s worst government. We all are so cynical and judgmental the minute someone else makes a mistake and fail to take responsibility for our own failures and how we conduct ourselves as glorified knowledgeable individuals who could so easily make very presidential decision and appease all Americans. Imagine what that would be like? Being perfect, never making any mistakes, never upsetting anyone, appeasing all nations of the world while at the same time dealing with illegal immigration, health care, taxes, education, terrorism and democracy. I am very cognizant that changes are inevitable but we also must never forget of great principles that our great nations was based on and the fundamental foundation that we as a society nor a nation should ever undermine. We cannot blame our president for our all our problems as we are part of our own demise. Thank you and God Bless America, President Bush and our President elect, Mr. Obama!

I can really appreciate an editorial like this. With all of the "Bush bashing" that goes on in the media, it is easy to forget Bush's good accomplishments. I think he has borne up well under intense unpopularity and bruising economic problems. Also, he worked hard during his term to appeal to a Democrat-controlled Congress--not an easy task, I'm sure.

Barbara (Frum) was brilliant...David is not. The unanswered questions of 9/11, the lies and fabrications that led to unending war, the destruction of the the fabric of American society, the greed and the economic meltdown and many other factors lead one to the stark realization that, though the published agenda had failed entirely, it failed so magnificently that the unspoken agenda of human slavery had, just as magnificently, succeeded.

Re: Just thinking out loud - you hit the nail on the head. How dan people look at Obama as a hero when there is nothing to prove it out. He has done nothing, shown nothing of his ability, or lack thereof to lead this nation. Too many voters of today have no real insight into our history and what makes us tick. They look for the easy way - they will get a country controlled by the government more than ever - if they get their wishes. No more free enterprise, medical provider choices, etc. One robot after another marching down the line doing the wishes of the government. No - not for me. Obama will discover the real world when he becomes president - I hope his staff is up to it (which I have my doubts based on things going on this week). Common sense and doing for the common good need to be implemented. We need to be strong to remain free - not wishy washy and turn the other cheek. Sorry for rambling, but it annoys me how people think we will have a better life - freer - if we give rights to everyone who has broken our laws - forget the law, look the other way, without laws there is chaos. Get ready.

I love reading comments from people such as yourself - filled with so much hate, ignorance and disrespect. I imagine someone as articulate as you works (as needed) low wage part time jobs just to earn enough to buy the dope you need to get through the miserable experience that is your life. You have my pity.

I think the best thing George Bush has ever done is to finally leave office! Goodbye George W!

I THINK OVERALL BUSH DID A GOOD JOB, NOT MAKING EXCUSES, MOST THINGS THAT HAPPENED WERE A BUTTERFLY EFFECT OF SEVERAL OF THE DESCISION MADE IN THE PAST. I AM GLAD THAT I CAN STILL ENJOY MY FREEDOM FREE FROM FEAR. HE DID WHAT HE HAD TO DO, THAT IS WHY I VOTED FOR HIM. I ALSO BLAME THE PRESS FOR MAKING HIM SEEM LIKE A BUMBLING FOOL, ITS ASHAMED THAT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT RATINGS AND MONEY, SOON ALL YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH ON TV ON ANY GIVEN TIME OF DAY OR MINUTE WILL BE A NEWS BROADCAST (MISINFORMATION BASED ON SOMEONES OPINION) AND VERY LITTLE FACTS AS USUAL.

I see that Mitchel6 thinks President Bush is a Star. You are a real bright one Mitchel6 :( . It will be noted in President Bush's legacy despite what "popular" opinion was, Mr. Bush made decisions FOR this country. Time will tell. I believe the Left will find Mr. Obama a little more conservative than they would like, it's REAL out there, not a game, people will die and Bush has done a great job insuring it was not Americans. Five years from now, let's talk. I will be praying for our President Elect Obama, I believe reguardless of who is in office, we must support them. It's OUR COUNTRY last I checked.
