Liberal dems seem to forget 400 dollar yahoo stock under Billy boys watch and when that bubble burst what effect it had on the economy. He was too busy smoking Lewinski cigars and listening to jazz music. Nobody seemed to care that stock prices were through the roof with dot coms that were worth absolutely nothing as far as liquid assets. Clinton surplus was complete BS when you subtract all of the meaningless stocks of meaningless dot coms that padded the stats. Bush inherited an inflated economy with bull crap overinflated dot com stocks tanking at the same time a terrorist attack equivelent to Pearl Harbor hit. The Bush administration has done nothing but deal with problems since its inception as well as keep us from being attacked in the last seven years. Lets hope Obama has as good of a security record as Bush. I'm sure if there is another attack you will find some way to spew your diatribe that its somehow GBs fault. I'm sure if Obama fails in the next four years you will find a way to say that is GBs fault as well. Hell, Obama himself is already saying " This may take more than four years".
The economy was a lie when Bush took office in 2000, and two wars are being fought at the same time, and Barney Frank with his Fanny Mae buddies have given too many overinflated loans for property not worth half if truth be known to people who couldnt afford it and are filing bankruptcy by the thousands. SOMEONE has to pay the fiddler sometime people.

I feel the need to point out that by your own reasoning, it took many years to get into this mess, so by that same logic, would it not take many years to climb back out of it? There is no quick fix for what's ailing this country at present.

Also don't forget that Sudan tried to give Bin Laden to the Clinton administration several times, but they wouldn't take him. Clinton was too involved in the previous administrations economic policies that he was basking in. Clinton lived with the economics of H. W. Bush, and Bush lived with the policies of Clinton. George had a surplus because of his fathers policies. Just the way it goes. The effects are always one administration behind for the most part. Clinton and the Dems pressure to put people in homes that couldn't afford them was a ball buster of us today. Ole Barney Frank's significant other was working at one of the agencies that Frank's policies benefited. Frank made changes, his boyfriend received bonuses. Just selfish political crap. I'm still irritated with Johnson and the Democratic admin he had. They took Social Security, which was not part of the general revenue fund, and changed the law to make it part of the general revenue fund so they could rob the excess to pay for their grossly excessive spending. Johnson screwed the rest of the generations that have to pay into social security, but may not get anything out of it.

Turning the other cheeck is mandatory if it's personal, but not when it's national. While God would like peace, He knows that there are people who's desires run contrary to His and unless their actions are checked in some way or there would be choas. So, God made certain people to have authority. For justice sake. Good government punishes evildoers and commends those who do right. Tell me, oldenougghtoknow, since you've addressed me, let me ask you two questions. Would you have respect for a person who does nothing to protect his family against a thief or murderer? Do you approve of those who stand by and do nothing when someone is bieng hurt, oppressed, and killed? I would not. None of us can appreciate the actions of office this President has been required to make. The difficulties that this nation has faced in the last 8 years particularly, would have challenged the best of Presidents. He's earned my gratitude. My respect. This has nothing to do with a political party. I've found that people who look for the negative alone usually find it and then cannot see anything beyond it.

Speaking politcally, you forget that while a Republican was President, the majority of Washington was run these last four years by Democrats. Not placing any blame. Just being fair.

Speaking spiritually, I say this. Whatsoever a man sows, so shall he also reap. When a nation goes astray, they will become a by word among the nations of the earth..

As for the weak in society, are those around them blind? Why is it the govenrment's job to provide for them? It's easy to expect that so we're not made to be PEPRSONALLY RESPONSIBLE. Why do we have realatives living in nursing homes instead in our own homes where they belong? This nation had mcuh to learn and a short time to learn it. We kill unborn babies and throw away our old people. We have a very short time to get this right.

      Okay,

Hire those who have disabilities, pay them $20 an hour-with full benefits-at forty hours a week, plus overtime after eight hours.

If you won't do that, then don't talk about personal responsibility, as your own Bible cites that you are your brother's keeper.

      • Posted By: NoSanctuary @ 01/19/2009 1:24:47 AM

Regarding your comment about relatives in nursing homes - many families can't afford full time care of their loved ones, since in most families today everyone works. It isn't maybe preferable, but this is the way it has become in our capitalist, caste society.

    • Posted By: NoSanctuary @ 01/19/2009 1:21:21 AM

In response to your first statement, haven't you read your bible? Obey God's law rather than man's, and be no part of the world? It is for God to judge, and not ours to say if others are wrong. The military should be to defend, not offend.

  • Posted By: gunner9 @ 01/15/2009 11:23:18 PM

All the bashing ,all the the critisim. Come on people get a life. If any one of you out there think you could have done a better job. Than President bush ,why did'nt you. This stuff makes me sick. "Juge not thy Fellow man,or ye shall be juged." Some say hes religious, and in the same word ,say he's killer and a crook. Can't be both, not if for real. Sounds like the hipocritts need to leave the congrigation.

    • Posted By: NoSanctuary @ 01/19/2009 1:19:20 AM

I don't want to be offensive, but I do have to point out that almost every war fought through history hs had religious roots. So, apparently you can be religious and a killer.

  • Posted By: bovey1@msn.com @ 01/18/2009 11:56:59 PM

True conservative as to Haliburton what is your point? It is apart of the military complex. As to your comment on Clinton's deficit Bush wouldnt have had the ability to issue 300 to each U.S. taxpayers unless there was a budget surplus. As to FDR as the cause of the Depression, apparently you don't know history very well. 1929 President Hoover administration knew it was coming and the Great Depression occurred with unemployment at 23%. FDR inherited the disaster of the previous administration: Campaign slogan: a chicken in every pot was FDR not your Hoover. If you look around the country the homeless community is growing under Bush. No they're not being called Hoovervilles but Bushville's. As to the current economic situation Bush had been warned but turned a blind eyed as Hoover did. You seem uneffedted by the economic downturn. As to CEO's of this country which has riped off American's for their personal gains. A good dose of Stalinism would cure the problem.

  • Posted By: bovey1@msn.com @ 01/18/2009 11:44:52 PM

True conservative, you seem to be a supporter of Republicans and Halliburton maybe is a great military provider but that is it. Maybe your the Ceo who only cares about yourself. Regarding the next comment about the deficit Bush your friend gave the 330.00 back it came from the surplus Clinton left. Apparently you haven't studied the Great Depression for FDR inherited Hoover's disasterous policies. Remember-Hoovervilles? Now Bushvilles are coming in existance. Also the depression occured while Hoover (a Republican) 1929. You sound like a wealthy person not effected by the downturn of the economy. As far as American CEO's one cure would help- dose of Stalinism.

Cauthon. Can you be anymore clueless??
President Clinton did alot for economic growth during his tenure. He left Bush with a huge surplus which did not all come from the dot com bubble. Bush quickly squandered that on an unnecessary war. You give Bush credit for recovering from the 2001 recession but you convieniently forget to note that the "recovery" itself was a bubble and a fraud and one of the main reasons for the recession we're in now. Typical Conservative double speak. Claiming victory over a problem with a "solution" that has caused an even greater problem. Just like the Iraq war which was a lame reaction to Americans wanting Bush to do something(anything) after 9/11. Once again Bush claimed victory over terrorism and the people that attacked the U.S. only to find out 6 years, hundreds of thousands of lives, and hundreds of billions of dollars later(at 10 billion a month times 72 months) enough to fund the bailout; that oops we went after the wrong guys.
The recession that Obama has been left by Bush is ten times worse than the minor recession that Bush inherited. Bush's tactics did not get us out of any recession. A false realstate bubble lifted the country out of the last recession and now that's popped and the country is drowning. Did Bush inherit an economy losing 50,000 jobs a month? Did he inherit the highest unemployement numbers since the Depression? Give me a break and on top of that you criticize Obama's plan as just giving people money and hoping they will spend it after Bush just did the exact same thing last year with his "stimulus" checks that did nothing. Wasn't it Bush that told the people to get out and spend while they were losing their jobs by the thousands.
Like Bush you obviously still don't get it. Republicans that are dissatisfied did not stay home on election day to send a message. They sent the message by going out and voting for Obama. You say the Democrats are the party of higher taxes yet Bush raised taxes on the middle class. You say that Democrats are the party of high gas prices yet we saw the highest gas prices ever under Bush. You say that the Democrats are the party of profligate spending yet Bush went crazy with spending. You need to take your head out of the sand and realize this is not 1980 anymore. We voted for a different way to do things and only time will tell if that's what we got but Bush had 8 years to show the world and he came up empty. Your last line is pretty funny because you sound just like the outgoing president. Even though your party lost seats in the house and the senate and was thouroughly trounced in the presidential election like Bush you find solace in doing as well(TERRIBLE) as you did.

    • Posted By: trueconserv @ 01/18/2009 11:01:58 PM

Some quick points. First, it is a lie that Clinton left a surplus. In fact, Clinton left a huge $133 Billion budget deficit. Next, Carter had more unemployement with double digit inflation and interest rates. Sorry to burst your bubble! Roosevelt made the recession the Great Depression.

In response to weslene's post below. Iraq was like an unnecessary (and botched) surgery that Pres. Bush was pressured into doing because he was under the "gun" of Pres. Cheney. The UN investigators were requesting more time.
On February 15, 2003 in more than 100 nations around the world, approx. 30 million people demonstrated against the invasion of Iraq. I was one of them.
    .

    • Posted By: trueconserv @ 01/18/2009 10:58:29 PM

Bush was just carrying out the original UN resolutin that ended the Gulf War in 1991. Are you familiar with that? Most liberals try not to. Have you heard of the Iraqi Liberation Act of 1998? Well, Clinton enacted that. Funny how all the dems in Congress told the American people how Saddam was. Hans Blix was still asking Iraq in Feb. 2003, where the 1,000 pounds of VX nerve agent was, do you know?

    • Posted By: renojmc @ 01/18/2009 11:18:55 AM

Hey Buddhist, why didn't you just chant peace into happening (or something useless like that)? You history revisionists conveniently forget that nearly all democrats voted to proceed with attacking Iraq. Also, you forget that in doing so, we provided freedom for millions of oppressed people. People like you are a danger to us all.

President Bush focus a'lot on Middle East crises. During his 4 years Israel was only nation he concentrated on.

    • Posted By: trueconserv @ 01/18/2009 10:54:19 PM

Where have you been, 9/11 was in Bush's first year in office because Clinton failed to act. There will be no peace between israel and Palestine as long as Iran and Syria are holding the strings. You can't have peace when one group wants to destroy you.

  • Posted By: trueconserv @ 01/18/2009 10:48:57 PM

    Kashahndra -
Where do I begin? First, it is a big lie that the left has used and it's time the truth comes out. Clinton DID leave a budget deficit. When Bush submitted his first budget that took place in October 2001, the budget deficit was, get ready......$133. 29 billion with the national debt being $5.8 trillion. Please check the U.S. Dept. of Treasury. The public debt was paid down because mainly of the dot com bubble in that social security income was high, therefore, once the bubble burst, excess income went down, causing the debt to go up. Next, one doesn't have to listen (in your view faux news or Rush) to have two brain cells to know that Saddam Hussein DID have WMD's. In fact, if you check your history, Iraq used them during the Iraq/Iran war and on his own people. After the Gulf War in 1991, the U.S. was surprised at how much Saddam had come in WMD's and the original U.N. resolution was to recquire Saddam to have U.N. mandated checks on his WMD's. If he did NOT comply, then any nation could come in....that was what Saddam agreed to. You need to read the original resolution, in fact, there were many, including the UN For Food Program scandal whcih Saddam used to funnel money for his personal use, but for more weapons and he paid off members of the U.N Security Council. It was Clinton who created the Iraqi Liberation Act of 1998, which called for regime change in Iraq and attacked Iraq twice. In fact, Both Clinton and Gore said that Iraq was a global threat. You may not know this, but Saddam did give al Queda Salman Pak, which was a training facility. In fact, the Duefler report stated that Saddam was clearly inteding to reinstate the programs once the sanctions were lifted and that he was far more dangerous than thought. The Pentagon released a report last year stating how much Saddam was linked to promoting terrorism and funding terrorists. It was Clinton who was offered Bin laden from the Sudan three times. Clinton, according to ex-CIA agents had an opportunity to get Bin Laden and he didn't. We now have problems with Iran thanks to Carter. The Shah of Iran pleaded with Carter for his help and Carter refused! We have the mortgage mess because of democratic "not doing anything" congress. You can thank Barney Frank for not allowing the Bush Administration more oversight of Fanny and Freddie. Please get your facts straight.

I think we should all remember that the media were all over President Bush from his 1st day of office. By the way the media rules this country not elected officials & there are actually people living here in our great country that belives everything they hear, see or hear from the media. President Bush was faced with many horrible disasters. Have you forgotten? The Twin Towers; the attack on the Pentagon. Have you forgotten? And most of all the most courageous patriotic Americans? The ones that managed to crash the last jet that was aimed at the White House? Have you forgotten? Don't forget Katrina. He personally held the game controller that steered that hurricane into New Orleans. I believe the city knew their levies needed to be higher. I know what a hurricane is all about. I live in southeastern North Carolina & have ridden out quite a few. I was born the year of Hurricane Hazel & no I was not named after her. No one American is carrying this load by themselves. Maybe health care would be easier if so much money were not being spent in local health departments for illegal aliens. I dont know about anywhere else but all illegal aliens do here is have a child & automatically they are American. I also think that every American, those who voted for Barrack & those who didn't should ponder about his past history. Will they say out loud on January 20, 2009 his middle name of Hussein? Have you forgotten?

    • Posted By: tiredofobama @ 01/18/2009 10:36:17 PM

Peabody. As far as Katrina goes, have they forgotten that an incompetent Mayor Ray Nagin could have used school buses to get people out of New Orleans before Katrina? Have they forgotten another incompetent. former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco, who looked like a deer in the headlight? Have they forgotten that Nagin and Blanco are Dimocrats? Have they forgotten that a young Republican, Bobby Gindal, is getting them out of this mess?

I feel President Bush has served his nation with honor and dignity. The press, instead of supporting, has done nothing, during the last three Republican Presidents, to honor them, but instead to demean and embarass. Although Clinton publically disgraced the office, he has been hailed a better president, even though his approval rating was lower than Bush. Our nation is quick to condem and ridicule our Presidents...the Freedom of the Press is much overrated, because being free it should be objective, not subversive, as it is now. I wish President Obama the best, but know full well, the slightest slip will bring the wrath of the the people and the press down upon him. Biden will be the scapegoat for awhile, he's sure to make mistakes. That was evident during the recent interview, when Biden was asked a question and before he could answer, Pres-elect, stepped between him and the press to take the question and give the rehearsed patt answer his administration has been giving. Biden's time and part in the presidency is over. He provided the experience his boss lacked, so they could say the administration has the experience necessary to stand in office....Biden is the biggest joke of all, and I think recently he has come to understand that. God Bless America and have mercy upon our new President.

You libs fail to realize that Bush won TWO elections. The second with a mandate and probably the largest margin of popular vote in history. He obviously has done several things right. You libs cry about how the Catrina victims were not taken care of yet fail to praise when the other seven hurricanes that have hit since then have been handles flawlessly. I cant think of one city that refused to pull themselves up by their bootstraps the way New Orleans did. Every other city has rebuilt and without bitching the way they have. You people think that democrats are going to help you when you lose your jobs? They are going to tax you to death and rob whatever you have to leave your children when you die. IMO its great to disagree but the hate for Bush is complete BS.

  • Posted By: jimtexas68 @ 01/18/2009 8:56:54 PM

I'm sure you liberal jackasses are aware that Clinton had Bin ladin and chose not to take him out for what ever reason. That alone would have saved more lives than salmonella from peanut butter cost many times over. Hold on to your baseless hate and keep knocking a good man that didnt dodge making the tough choses to keep our country safe. Its expected. Ol" Billy boy could have saved our country trillions of dollars and thousands of lives if he would have had the balls to make just that one not so tough choice to put a bomb up Binladins ass when it needed to be.

i'm sure through the years they will find more things that George Bush did right. I'm looking forward to some honest
thought about what he did right insteaad of the constant Bush bashing. I hope Obama does as many things right and those that were mistakes by GB will be learning lesson for Obama, however, I don't look for that. I think that Obama will make his own mistakes, just hope the press gives him the same treatment they gave Bush. That would be fair..

Turn off FauxNews(sic) and ignore Rush(sick) and do some independent research ??? Your boy AWOL George changed the way they ???count??? unemployment ??? If you use the standards from the 30's, it's now around 20% - Same with inflation, only this time it's Reagan who decided to discount the effect of oil price changes so he could avoid the figures that lost the election for Carter. Go back to the way they calculated things in the 70's and George-the-lesser's policies have given us inflation of around 14%.
I'm guessing you have no retirement plan, or you would be aware of just what neocon policies have done to the value of people's 401K's, namely, reducing their values by a couple TRILLION bucks. Then we can go to the things the little Preppytwit did with our military, like send it off to a totally unnecessary war to make Iraq safe for Western oil companies ??? here's hat we now KNOW he knew before the invasion of Iraq:
    1.Saddam had NO nuclear weapons
2.Saddam had NO program to acquire uranium.
3.The aluminum tubes George claimed were for centrifuges to refine uranium were actually artillery missile bodies.
4.The ONLY ???terrorist??? organization Saddam was supporting was working to overthrow Iran

On the domestic front, Georgie Twit gutted all Federal regulatory agencies, which made it possible for companies to poison thousands of Americans with tainted food, toxic toys and polluted water and do so without fear anybody in the Government would be around to stop them or catch them ??? Think about this: In the last WEEK 6 people have DIED from eating tainted peanut butter ??? the annual death toll in western Europe from food poisoning is ZERO ??? European doctors have to travel to the US to see patients with symptoms of salmonella, But hey, you Republianzis are doing a GREAT job of keeping government ???small???...except that by small you just mean the actual number of Federal employees, perferring to replace them with contractor workers who get no retirement, no paid vacations, no advancement prospects and no health care BUT the cost of these workers to the taxpayers is MORE than the Government workers they replaced ??? the extra money goes all the the owners of the operation-nice.

About Clinton: He not only balanced the Federal budget, he handed Georgieboy a $280BILLION annual surplus that Georgie turned into a $1,3TRILLION annual deficit. Clinton's 8 years saw a net creation of 21 million new jobs. AWOL's 8 years netted 3 million new jobs-mostly low paying service industry jobs. You neocons hate him because he was getting some -and even those of you who are married can't get laid.

  • Posted By: bytemass @ 01/18/2009 6:53:35 PM

I just hope that the secret service will briong in dope dogs to make sure that Obama's little girls don't stumble on to some of G.W.'s stash. You KNOW that he's hidden coke in weird places all over the White House.

    Yo floridave
Turn off FauxNews(sic) and Rush(sick) and actually do some research. George the AWOL' unemployment is as good as it is because he decided to NOT count folks who have used up their unempl;oyment benes and gave up looking for work - add thow in and his administration destroyed more jobs than anybody since Hoover. By the way, during 8 clinton years, the economy added a net of 21 MILLION Infaltion? Same thing, only this time it was Reagan who decided he didn't want to risk the double-digit Carter numbers so he ordered the folks at BLS to EXCLUDE increases in petroleum prices. Using the same factors they did in the 70's and your beloved Preppytwit's policies give us inflation rates over 14%

  • Posted By: searcher5 @ 01/18/2009 4:57:59 PM

Also, I'd like to mention the large amount of monetary aid to Africa to fight AIDs. Last years payment was larger than the entire amount of the whole of Clinton's two terms. If you don't like Bush, don't go into Africa where the aid has been applied, and ask Africans what they think of him. You won't like the answer. He is thought of very positively by those that needed the assistance.
