you people are all nut you should get a clue before you speak. clinton deregulated the banks and started the economic collapse. iraq was our mess from the early 80's we had to clean it up. Stop acting stupid and be realistic.

the banks were deregulated in 2000 the last year of cllintons presidency 11 years after reagan left office that argument doesnt fly. and if you look at your history it ws kennedy that got us embroiled in vietnam

    • Posted By: vito vera @ 01/15/2009 9:51:48 PM

We went into vietnam in 1957 under Eisenhower. He got reelected by ending the war in korea and sent soldiers to viet nam. Check it out.

    Is this a joke??
Can you say the end of non-proliferation, the end of American jobs, the demise of University supremacy...that's our goals for India?
Our relationships with SA are more equal? Perhaps, we have never had worse relations!
And if there is any leasons in the fiascos of George, fighting "terrorism" his way is one endless disaster both home and abroad. Essentially the leason is; "What would George do? ... and then do th exact opposite!!!

Snagman, you haven't been around for over 50 years to see every Republican in office turn our country into war and a terrible economic downturn. The day Bush was elected - toooo many years ago, I told my Republican boss with a tear in my eye that I give it a year and we'll be in a war and less than that for the economy to go to hell in a hand basket. I also told him with Bush will have us in a recession if not worst than the 20s depression. I have no doubts whatsoever in my mind that Bush and his 'oil-dipping' family has had a lot to do with the price of gasoline and had no reason to stop the gouging of our nation.

Have you notice both oil crisis we during republican administrations first in 1973 and them now.

  • Posted By: WildThing @ 01/15/2009 4:47:14 PM

It's easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory.
I thank God for President Bush and his courage.
However, I do not think he got everything right.
But I do think he was in the right place at the right time
to do a job that no one else could possibly do, except him.

I believe we are too hard on some of those who lead us
and not hard enough on others that have great privilege
& a shared responsibility for helping our brothers & our country.
Such as: The USA???s level of corporate greed (I call it corporate terrorism)
is at an all time high. The CEO???s make millions of dollars, whether they
perform well or not. The lowly worker who is paid by his/her performance,
isn???t making squat, is taking pay cuts, and generally doing more with less.
For instance GM, Ford, & Chrysler move their most of manufacturing jobs
overseas due to NAFTA (BTW Thanks Bill Clinton). Now everyone wonders
why their cars aren???t selling anymore. I???ll tell you why, it is because the Big 3
fired their number 1 customer. It was their employees. I have never been a
Big 3 employee but I live in a Big 3 town and I see how much their jobs have
affected America and our lifestyles. For instance, the Big 3 employees
were the ones who bought the 50k ??? 60k cars and trucks. You wonder where
all the jobs all went and why we don???t have a strong middle class anymore?
Don???t blame that on Bush, blame it on Clinton, because he brought NAFTA in.
Now the Big 3 get a huge bail out plan but it won???t help them or us. WHY?
Partially because of NAFTA, the greedy CEO???s CFO???, COO???s, & EIEIO???s have
helped to kill Americas middle class. The Big 3???s old employees are not
going to buy their products any longer and neither will the rest of America.
WHY? For several reasons, many feel like they were cheated. Many won???t be
able to afford a new vehicle especially the big ticket vehicles as they now work
for Wal-Mart. Many see the Big 3 as traitors or sell outs. Many see the
Big 3???s actions as non American, etc. The question then arises, will Mexico,
India, China or Russia???s Big 3 employees buy the big ticket vehicles? I???m
sure they won???t with the wages they are being paid. Now another question
arises, since the Big 3 have lowered their employment costs so much then
why haven???t their vehicles come down equally in cost and price???

what would that be? Mke the wealthy wealthier?

  • Posted By: vito vera @ 01/15/2009 9:36:35 PM

These unexpected allies among the Sunni Tribes you speak of are because Bush is paying them not to fight. In effect he is paying blackmail. NOw that he will stop paying them all hell is going to break loose.

  • Posted By: LHGOLFER28 @ 01/15/2009 3:19:46 PM

If you're going to blame the Bush White House for the current problems with the economy, you have to take the Democrat-majority Congress with it, which most people are unwilling to do. The outragous house loans that have us in trouble now can in no way be linked to the Bush White House. As for Iraq, we all sleep better at night with Sadam dead, whether you are willing to admit it or not. How many times has US soil been attacked since 9/11? ZERO!!! Of course, there are those who directly blame 43 for 9/11 as if he flew the planes into the WTC himself, and also those who somehow believe he could have stopped Hurricane Katrina from happening! Now that's POWER!!!

I have small kids who like to dress themselves for church. Often times, we have to tell them to go back to their room and "CHANGE". Guess what? 9 times out of 10, they come back looking worse than before! For all of you who voted on CHANGE, good luck with that one!

    • Posted By: backd6 @ 01/15/2009 3:48:02 PM

i hope your kids dont end up growing up to be an idiot like you are

      • Posted By: kellyin ND @ 01/15/2009 7:20:35 PM

Now what makes this person an idiot? The fact he has his own belief, has children, or that he goes to church. By the way you are fast to call someone by that name, I suggest you look into a mirror. I'm not going to say you are an idiot. I choose not to speak like that. Remember, it may be wiser to say nothing and just thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt. There is no place for name calling in this forum, stick to facts if you know any.

matt0123...... Are you kidding ? Bush cut taxes on our employers and we have the highest unemployment since the great depression. So how are you coming up with this stuff ??? This is pure greed from the wealthiest people in the world. They don't care about you. We need to clear the way so we can take care of ourselves. The auto industry wants a hand out. Our tax $$$$ to bail them out. I say that our tax $$$$ should be used to buy them out. Pennies on the dollar and then do what Harley davidson did. Employee owned. There wouldn't be multi-million dollar bonuses when the company is losing money. Just take a look at Harley Davidson, and see how that company turned around. I'm not talking about a company owned by the government. I'm talking about a company owned by the employees.

As I commence to express my sentiments pertaining to this specific topic ???Where Bush was right???? I optimistically hope that my comments are not misinterpreted nor expressed out of context. It would be ever so nice to one day wake up with our press and many of us not portraying our leadership as the world???s worst government. We all are so cynical and judgmental the minute someone else makes a mistake and fail to take responsibility for our own failures and how we conduct ourselves as glorified knowledgeable individuals who could so easily make very presidential decision and appease all Americans. Imagine what that would be like? Being perfect, never making any mistakes, never upsetting anyone, appeasing all nations of the world while at the same time dealing with illegal immigration, health care, taxes, education, terrorism and democracy. I am very cognizant that changes are inevitable but we also must never forget of great principles that our great nations was based on and the fundamental foundation that we as a society nor a nation should ever undermine. We cannot blame our president for our all our problems as we are part of our own demise. Thank you and God Bless America, President Bush and our President elect, Mr. Obama.

bush was voted in, but, not the first time. he did not win the popular vote, meaning most people did not vote for him. he has led the usa into a communistic regime. the people no longer count. how does anyone fight that? if the people rise up, it's a rebellion (which I think is a long time coming), and after that is anarchy and total chaos, but when the president does it it's all legal?

      • Posted By: Californian @ 01/15/2009 2:11:15 PM

What an idiotic thing to say. Bet you've never even heard the words "electoral college."

What werte you smoking when you wrote this

      • Posted By: barnump22 @ 01/15/2009 2:05:59 PM

Slew 59, do you know the meaning of a "communistic regime"? See Eastern Europe and Russia. 20 years after the fall of their communist regime they are just coming back onto the scene as something resembling a world player. But guess what? The same communists that ran their country then run it now, and fail miserably. You realize if Bush created a "communistic regime" you'd be shot for even posting such a comment. go ahead, piss on what the president has done and hide behind the very rights you claim don't exist.

      • Posted By: barnump22 @ 01/15/2009 2:01:46 PM

slew 59, do you actually know what a "communistic regime" would look like? See Eastern Europe and Russia. 20 years after the demise of THEIR communistic regime, they are just now coming back into anything that resembles a world player. But guess what? The same people who ran their government 20 years ago run it today, miserably.

Honestly, Bush is likely not the worst president the US has ever had. If anything he's average. We don't know half of what presidents like FDR and Kennedy did because the media didn't investigate like they did then. For heaven's sakes, FDR made secret deals (i.e. the Atlantic Charter). I think Bush's administration ran into problems because they were very open about things they probably should have kept quiet, and silent on ones they should have spoken about. Now, while I don't agree with everything the Bush administration has done, I certainly don't think he's the worst president we've ever had. Harding was probably just as bad, if not worse!!

  • Posted By: georgiabirdie @ 01/15/2009 2:46:35 PM

George Bush is a man who's word is his bond. He can be trusted. He does not succumb to criticism. He has kept us safe for eight years. He should go down in history as a good president.

    • Posted By: iamsharper @ 01/15/2009 4:51:00 PM

911 very nice place to start counting ... oh ya you blame Clinton for 911, just like the economy and anything else that may be wrong .... bush has a 20% approval rating for a reason and it is not media bias but the fact he is very arguably the worst president we ever had.

    • Posted By: postal dude @ 01/15/2009 3:11:27 PM

why start counting @ 9/11. that's B.S. . Start your count when he started his watch on inaguration day. dumb tuna

I the media ever printed the truth about the DEMS, the election would've been a different outcome...

Perhaps you would have been happier if they lied to and misdirected us just like before Iraq, you sound like a guy that loves his propaganda.

Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when
'The Big Three' referred to Japanese & German car companies?
Are the Big 3 thinking creatively about how we can restore our
competitive edge in manufacturing. In WW II our manufacturing
companies saved our butts. Let???s hope we don???t have WW III.
The Big 3 with all its pomp and circumstance can???t even produce a
decent hybrid car. Heck GM can???t even produce one of their best
selling cars, the Camaro . It was announced in 2006 that GM would
revive the car with a cool retro look. Every year since 2006, GM claims
they had plans to rerelease the Camaro. Now GM says it will be released
in 2010, or is it 2011, or is it 2012? Give me a freaking break! Americas
corporate gangsters are stealing us blind. America can't even seem
to clean up after a hurricane much less build a Camaro or hybrid car.
So are all of these problems President Bush???s fault? That is the question.
President Bush faced some of the toughest decisions a president
has ever had to face. I can tell you this....I wouldn't have wanted
President Bush's job even if they paid me 20 times what he is currently making.
Please pray to GOD for our country.

Be sure and watch this video which was not allowed in America .
This video shows that George Bush tried to warn
Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if
something was not done. But congress refused to listen,
along with Barney Franks. This video says it all.
Also that the liberal AMERICAN media did not want
this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a
law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.
This link is of the same video but is routed through
Canada . Everyone in America needs to see this!

I'm so sick of you Bush supporters saying Bush thought he did the right thing. That is the problem with him. He wasn't savvy enough to realize what he was doing was so very horribly wrong. Half assing it isn't doing the right thing either by the way. Take a look at what this country was and what it has become. The people who support the close-minded morons are the real problem. It makes me sick that you people will continue to ruin this country for our youth.

And the NewsBreak Special Report about the US Airways plane that is floating in the Hudson River that took off from Laguardia Airport to Charlotte, NC is NOT the result of a terrorist attack or any foul play. It was only up for 6 min, 200 ft in the air and had a double bird strike. Lots of geese go along back and to over the Hudson River. It is only an unfortunate situation. Our concerns are the ice cold water conditions while passengers are afloat with their inflated vests from over their seats safely keeping them for rescue. Ferry's and the Coast Guard are making rescue attempts which appear to be successful and everyone on the plane were orderly and all passengers have made it off of the plane. Watch and enjoy.

lowaborn....that is a perfect example of the heartless, closeminded attitude I was talking about. Try thinking about something other than yourself, and consider the situations that some HUMANS are in. I know someone that was smuggled into this country at a young age, and sold as a concubine (sp). She had no legal citizenship, and if it were up to you, neither would her children. You are as bad as these people calling those that have been foreclosed on, deadbeats. You don't, and never will know what it's like to walk in somebody elses shoes.

  • Posted By: Iowaborn @ 01/15/2009 4:11:55 PM

I have been a Bush supporter for the past 8 years. I don't believe for a minute that he got everything right, but I do believe that he did what he thought was the right thing. I think we went into Iraq premamturely. We should have cleaned up Afganistan before going into Iraq. One of the worst things Bush has done was his attempt at Immigration reform. I believe this is one of the biggest problems this country faces. We need to close the borders and rid the country of illegal aliens. There needs to be a system of accepting workers into the country to fill needed jobs but not allowing them to bring other members of their family. There should be no form of amnesty or citizenship for anyone here illegally no matter how long they have been in this country and childrem born to illegals should not have automatic citizenship.

As time will reflect the history of Bush's administration and his supporters, Bush and Cheney, will hold a karmic debt of tremendous accountability of 2 terms that destabilized a nation in peace and prosperity. Hindsight tends towards 20/20 vision of a leadership deluded by superior wisdom and virtue. So many Americans have become homeless, died as a result of a very expensive war, and been robbed by the allowance of rampant deregulation of banking, wall street, major corporations, insurance companies and so on. With more exposure of robber barons that emerged during his terms, it is no surprise that middle class Americans have lost their jobs. There is a question in anyone's mind that had Bush's team done the math before engaging in war, who were actually paid 10 billion a month for the war effort, major companies? And those that already benefitted from his administration felt that they needed to make a last ditch effort to ask for more billions before his term ended. Another question must be posed, should there be another family member in past presidencies be allowed for a presidential election? Are the American people promoting dynasties or democracies? Only time will tell.
