THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT AND OUR GREAT AND WONDERFUL BRAVE SOLDIERS. Comments
In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. Thankfully after 9/11 President Bush and our Great Soldiers have prevented another attack on American soil by taking the war back to SADDAM,THE GODFATHER OF ISLAMIC STATE-SPONSORED TERRORISM.

Those of us that love American and the freedom that we have can never thank you enough!!!!! More truth at: http://www.commandments.us No matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection from the Terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die? So who are we at war with? There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists.

Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting. We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question: What does losing mean? It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get. What losing really means is: We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us over the past 18 years. The plan is clearly for terrorists to attack us, until we are neutered and submissive to them, If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We'd better know it too!!

Brace yourself. this is a long one but WELL WORTH READING.Dont get me wrong, I love america but theres a fine line you have to establish between patriotism and unnesassary slaughter. This war is going on for ALL the wrong reasons and frankly i question the fact of the "Threat" of terrorism. 9/11 Was a tragic day in the history of America but the details are conflicted, sketchy, and soforth. Now here is the part where most people will call me unpatriotic, or a conspiracy theorist. For those of you who just had this thought cross your mind, stop for a second. Can you honestly deny that the media is more or less controlled, or in a lighter sense "guided" by the government. Even if you think not you KNOW they have that power to do so. THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT. Unfortuatly we cant, and never will be able to fix that. Money my friends, is the key in society. What you have to understand is that Politicians are no better than you, me, or anyone in the world. 90% is acting with a fake smile for the camera and dirty deeds off the record. They are not saints. Some like JFK, Lincoln, etc. Do care about americans and the well being of america. But i want you to notice. These presidents have been assasinated. If you look at the "stats". Over 60% of americans disapprove of Bush. No one out of the 60% has attempted assasination. Digressing to JFK and Lincoln, They were over 60-70% approved by the people of the U.S. Unfortunatly, THEY did not get involved with money scandals and schemes but instead worked FOR THE PEOPLE. A real Democracy, So in turn the people who wanted to go through with the money scandals got rid of the problem. There are too many "coincedences" and conflicting details. I know this is long and im sorry if i've rambled far but i need to stress this to america. WE OWN AMERICA, THE PEOPLE OWN AMERICA. NOT CORPORATIONS. TAKE. IT. BACK. i would be happy to discuss with any that whish to do so.

"Bush's Iraq model should be reapplied: pressure Pakistan into ending its assistance to the insurgents, send in more troops and adopt new tactics. The job will be tough. But the new president should know that if the last one could do it in Iraq, surely he can do it in Afghanistan."

Which begs the question: Why didn't Bush already do this? The only reason there was an "insurgency" in Iraq in the first place is because we were there sans any valid justification. The insurgents only real target was the invading coalition!. Instead, we should have dealt with Afghanistan first, and worried about Iraq second, if ever. I don't see the logic in saying that Bush got this particular thing right, when it is rather obvious we were in the wrong country at the wrong time. for the wrong reason, fighting an enemy who only existed because we were there. No Iraq invasion means no insurgency to deal with, end of story. Only a conservative ideologue could reverse the truth and give Bush bonus points for making a horrible mistake.

It's like congradulating the pilot that caused the plane crash by ignoring the tower for saving his passenger on the way out. Good job...

I, for one, was never behind Bushs' ill conceived plan to attack Iraq. I did not need to listen to 6 months of media bliitz to convince me he was wrong. I knew 6 months before the actual attack that Bush had plans in that direction. Some of his comments were setting us up to believe that terrorists were in Iraq, even before the WMD excuse was fabricated. Anyone listening closely to Bush' rhetoric could have figured out that he had plans to invade months before the senate voted.

The closer BO gets to power, the more he sounds and acts like GWB, on policy, and the media thinks thats great now that it is BO! they are a bunch of original thinkers!

Two things we can credit the "W" for which were very worthwhile: No more Hanky Panky in the White House and no more "9/11's" during his watch...

99.9% of the people in this country have never heard of Mr. Snagman, so i'm not sure where the notion "Except for the people who hate America, I remember everyone being behind President Bush after Sept. 11, 2001." I know i do not speak for myself when I say that I do not hate America, and was never behind Bush. Apparently anyone who opposed Bush consitently, regardless of the terrorist attacks (which had little to do with whether the American public liked Bush), hates America. Opening your comment with that ignorant statement leaves little credence to the rest of your argument.

  • Posted By: mngsears @ 01/15/2009 1:30:05 PM

You people are full of the "hate" that you talk about when describing the right. I used to vote left almost always, but, after seeing the ignorant posts on this site, I see nothing but "left wing hate". The very same hate I used to get so frustrated with the right about. I trust my gut feeling about someone, I trust that more than I do a bias news report. My gut tells me that President Bush is a good man who is human, made some mistakes, like Bill Clinton did, But is human. You make me sick with your hateful comments. How about saying "thanks" to our outgoing president and lets welcome our incoming president. I suppose freedom is just for you and not the children of Iraq?

    • Posted By: Outragedallthe time @ 01/15/2009 3:18:29 PM

Yeah Bush trusted his gut too - how did that work out? He would have savede us all a lot of trouble if he'd choked to death on that pretzel watching football - would have been a just dessert

What Frum said that George Bush did right are not important. Tell stupid, it is the economy and secondly, protection against terrorist attack. The best thing about Bush is that he finally is leaving office after probably the most disasterios administration during my life time and maybe, in all of the administrations in the histroy of the U S.

The question is, are we better off now than 8 years ago? Even Bush backers cannot really believe that we are better off. During Bush's watch we had the worst terrorist attack in the U S. I don't think anyone feels safer now that 8 years ago. The economy, is the worst since the great depression and with Bush's policies we may not avoid going into another drpression.

What Frum talk about is so unimportant. He must be a Bush backer and he had to very hard to come up with what Bush did that were good. Whe people talks about what is important, no one talks about what Frum brought up.

The Repubilicans lost ground politically because they deserve to lose. I hope they back Palin and keep loseing ground to the Demmocrats. I don't think it is good for the Democrats to control both houses of Congress and the Presidency but the Republicans don't deserve anything because they backed Bushs policiies when it was bad for the country. Bush and the Republicans when they had control, were smug in the way they developed their policies. Obama will be a more bipartisian president, although the Republicans will still waste their time looking for faults instead to proposing meaningful ideas.

  • Posted By: buffalo @ 01/15/2009 3:18:19 PM

the closer BO gets to power, the more he sounds like GW, the media now thinks all of Bush'es ideas are good, as long as they belong to BO! they are orginal thinkers.

Except for the people who hate America, I remember everyone being behind President Bush after Sept. 11, 2001. We were a united nation and ready to take care of business. Then we got 6 years of the media telling everyone what a dummy President Bush was, how he did everything wrong, and on & on. So evertually people began to believe it and his approval ratings dropped. However we were not dealing with Bill Clinton who based every decision on the daily poll numbers but instead we had a REAL President who made decisions ( right or wrong ) based on what he thought was right for our country, which was what he was elected into office to do.
People complain about the economy....look no farther than your local Democrats in Congress who are the ones actually in charge of that ( not the President). President Bush tried to warn against Fannie & Freddie back in 2003 and then John McCain once again sounded the alarm in 2005. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Harry Reid all were involved in blocking any legislation to safe guard our economy and the banks. Right along with them were the media saying everything was "rosie." Now these same people are demending that regulations be in place and they be in charge of it. Of course this is after their friends and relatives have filled their bank accounts with our money. Putting them in charge is like asking a burglar to be the night watchman at the bank.
As for Iraq...I for one feel much safer fighting them on their soil and not ours. However if you wish, I'm sure we can make arrangements to bring a couple hundred over here and let them live with you so you don't feel guilty. Better yet, go on You-Tube and watch the video from Dec. of last year where these "want a be" terrorists were protesting on our streets in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
The banking mess we can thank Jimmy (worst President ever) Carter and Bill (I didn't inhale) Clinton. They put the wheels in motion that forced the banks to loan money to people who could not afford to pay for them.
I know President Bush made mistakes and there are a lot of things I did not agree with him on, but over all I think he did a pretty good job with the hand he was dealt.
A lot of people recently voted for "CHANGE" and I believe that they will find out it wasn't what they had in mind when they entered that voting booth in November.
Let's see if the media is a critical with the new President as they were with President Bush.
I doubt that will happen but we will be watching.

How can anyonce blame Carter for the banking mess - for crying out loud he's been out of the Whitehouse for 25 years The media although sometimes biased REPORTS THE ACTIONS of our politicians - They didn't need to help show Bush as an idiot - He can do that ALL BY HIMSELF!

Actually, the banks and oil companies were deregulated at the request of President Reagen. Reagen was completly opposed to government regulation. It's been the conservitive mantra ever since.

    • Posted By: jwalker8680 @ 01/15/2009 3:16:29 PM

Exactly... Deregulation is the republican montra... They think if you deregulate everything will take care of itself... Well... now we know what happens when you let greedy people do whatever they want. Oh... Actually... I think most of us already knew that.

  • Posted By: bizona @ 01/15/2009 3:16:10 PM

I never cease to be amazed at how many people still insist that Bush's presidency was a success or has been good for our country. At any rate, it is telling that David Frum, a conservative, could think of only 3 things Bush was "right" on in 8 freakin' years.

  • Posted By: kathyg @ 01/15/2009 1:36:27 PM

The one thing I know to be true is that truth prevails. I'm not sure we ever get the truth from the mainstream media. We may get their perception of the truth, but it always seems that in their rush to report the news, we never get the whole story and in essence....the truth. In my opinion, to be human is to be someone full of flaws and incapable of perfection. Why would anyone want to be President of the United States? Some of your respondants are calling for George Bush to be hung, to be thrown in jail. Why because they don't agree with him? Can they prove he has actually committed crimes? In my opinion, he probably made some mistakes, but if he was being guided by a desire to protect the American people and not selfish motives, how can we be anything but grateful for his service? Who in their right mind would want to put themselves through the venemous, microscopic criticism that any president must go through? Perhaps the American people should bear a lot of the responsibility ourselves. We have become a people who are more informed about who Angelina Jolie's latest husband is than world affairs. We have become a people who expect to be bailed out. We have a congress full of senators and representatives who rather than be exposed to the same harsh criticism of their actions and involvement instead make it constantly about partisan politics. I did not vote for Obama, but now he is my president, so I wish him well. I do not think he has the experience he should have in order to be president, but perhaps what he lacks in experience, he will make up for in intellect. I think the American people need to accept more personal responsibility for their lives and for where they are in their lives. This is still the greatest country in the world and all one has to do is educate themselves, be willing to work hard and sacrifice in order to achieve their goals and they can do it. Government hand outs and rescue packages aren't the answer. I am grateful for the fact that there have been no more attacks on our soil since 09/11 and if nothing else, perhaps all of President Bush's naysayers can give him credit for that. As long as we allow partisan politics to detract us from real solutions, we're in trouble!

  • Posted By: Angry Student @ 01/15/2009 1:37:57 PM

To be honest, if you blame Bush for everything, you're pretty ignorant. Everything Bush did was pretty much Congress' fault for passing. You elected the Senate, so Bush's downfalls were YOUR FAULT!

    • Posted By: Sticktothetruth @ 01/15/2009 1:40:47 PM

True! Takes two to tangle....Congress put politics and self interests first, instead of what was good
for the American people. And if Bush was so awful, why did they vote him into office, not once, but twice!
      Go figure!

  • Posted By: gailmatt1 @ 01/15/2009 3:14:05 PM

Blaiming someone else is always the cop out of the ones who fail and cannot own up to their mistakes. If you want to look back and start blaming earlier presidents, why start with Clinton? Lets go back even further to cast blame, but first make sure they happen to be a Democrat. Repulicans are always smarter, more honest and right. Let's see, who can we blame the Vietnam war on? It must be a Democrat's fault somehow....

I almost fell out of my chair when I read a positive headline connected to President Bush. I bet this poor writer is getting fired as I type this. I always remind myself that in the first 9 months of Bush's first term - 9/11 happened. In the first 9 months of his second term - Katrina hit. Gore and Kerry better thank their lucky stars that they didn't get the job. Plus throw in working with a Democrat-controlled Congress that loathes your very existence - well let's just say he had a lot to overcome. I voted for him twice - though I don't agree with all that he did and truly wish he would've controlled spending like a fiscal Conservative - atleast I always knew where he stood. I have a feeling our new saviour, I mean President Obama, will be heavily influenced by what's politically correct or popular. I maybe part of a very small group but I wish President Bush and his family well.

    • Posted By: Outragedallthe time @ 01/15/2009 3:12:36 PM

Yeah you aways knew where Bush stood - on the WRONG spot or side of everything. Why is that certitude a virtue?

Even if Frum is right (and I would totally dispute #3- creating a disaster and then finally finding a way to mitigate it does not count as "something right" to me - the horrendous lies, lawbreaking, manipulation, treason, torture,, negligence after Katrina,, opposing stem cell research, denying global warming, etct etc, the list goes on and on - arel ike saying The Captain of the Titanic hit an iceberh, but the evacuation to too few lifeboats was handled well." Bush and Cheney ruined this country, financially and otherwise, and should have been impeached and tried for war crimes. That would be getting it right!

Gillanator, Bush created a war in Iraq to bleed the terrorist death and it worked. Also, America has no responsibility to support or feed oppressed pecple, anywhere. It is the responsibility of oppressed people to raise up free themselves.
