Before I state my opinion, I would like to say that I was born and raised in the Catholic Faith. why is islam being portrayed as a sick religion that is completely against peace and humanity?! why is islam to blame if a man decides to blow himself up "in the name of islam" why is islam to blame if the Iran government cannot interpret certain passages from the quran correctly and take them literally? why is islam to blame if the law in saudi arabia and some other arab country states that any women who has sex before marridge is to be killed? these are all crimes commited by the "followers of islam" and not islam itself! for example when the ku klux klan were around they were waving crosses as if to symboly christianity, do i then go on to think that all christians are rasicts! of course not! i say that there is something wrong with the people and not the religion. it is exactly the same case here were it is people and no the religion that does this. in response islam was not spread by war, war was fought because other people in the gulf that were in charge of many powerful tribes saw islam as a threat to there power and so fought mohammed (S.A.W) so he had no choice but to defend himself. and when people went to other lands preaching islam, the governments of those lands at the time did not accept it and mohammed was again forced to defend themselves. this is the same wy as christianity was spread, it was the religion of the romans and when they conquered europe they took their religion with them and thats how it got to the U.S ( the first americans were europeans). and i have heard many things about muslim women wearing headscarfes and people are then saying that this is demeaning to women and takes away their rights. this , i beleive, is nonesense. the law was introduced at the time of the prophet to infact protect women! it was to cover there charms ( e.g. hair and other areas of there body) so that men wouldnt see them, and be less liable to sexual attack. and as men in those days, in the region were seen as much higher then women and they could get away with almost anything, so this law was introduced as a measure of protecting women. and one last thing, living in kuwait (a muslim country) i have day to day encounters with people from other religions , christians, jews, hindus, buddists, sikhs etc. and they are in no way shape or form prosecuted by the government for following there religion, and if you had actually visited a muslim country instead of beleiving some garbage you read on the internet you would know that this is not true.

I as a Christian do not hate Muslims. My Buble teaches me differently, but I do not see that in Islam. The Koran tells Muslims to make no friend of a Christian or Jew. There are whole books in the Koran "against" Christianity and the Jews. When reading the "Traditions", which are accounts of Mohammed during his life, even Mohammed went against the Koran. He had people killed because they left Islam, which is against the teaching of the Koran. He ignored the complaints of his wives when he spent so much time with little Aisha, his child bride (married her at 6, and sex at 9). His excuse? Allah gave him his revelations while in bed with Aisha. Recently in the middle east, some Islamic centers were closed because they were saying that it was now ok to marry 9 year olds because Mohammed had done it himself. Yes, Islam must change. The atrocities must cease. I have read the entire Koran, and I have read many of the "Traditions". I will stick with the message of love that Christ taught. Purity is a wonderful thing, but too many people are ready to cast the first stone, when already the "hate" in their hearts have made them the greatest sinner of all. As a Christian, I hear Muslims refer to the Crusades, and they spout hatred because of it. Please understand, the Crusades were the doing of the Catholic Church and thier Popes tring to play "god" That is unscriptual in itself. I am not catholic. I see Catholicism as a mutated form of Christianity. That is what happens when government and religion form together. It was the result of Christianity being accepted as the "official religion" of the Roman Empire. It started it's decline into the Catholic Church at that point. And that is what happens when Islam is the religion of a nation. It becomes an atrocity as Christianity did swith the Roman Empire and many years after. Change Islam . . let love rule instead of letting traditions and rules make the calls.
