The United States is evil and hegemonic country, will come a time when the United States for his conduct paid with their blood.

In my opinion, we definitely have to find a renewable energy source. Buy oil from hostile countries does not sense to me. We should try and find a renewable energy source within the next decade to stop our reliance on foreign oil imports.

  • Posted By: catseye82 @ 03/04/2009 1:32:00 AM

This is a lie. The US has plenty of oil. The "deals" made in the 60's prevent us from using it.

  • Posted By: AVelez1987 @ 02/26/2009 7:26:37 PM

It'd be nice not to rely on oil that we buy from countries that give us problems like Venezuela, Russia, or particular countries in the Middle East. We wouldn't have to negotiate with them if we didn't need anything from them. We wouldn't have to bend or break away from doing sound, rational policies that benefits our own country as well as others simply because we need oil. If we focus on alternative, safe kinds of energy we would also have a healthier environment.

I agree with most of this article!. We need to use alternative energy right now!!!

I now hold a US "Utility" patent for a utility power plant, patent # 5,430,333, that needs no fuel and makes zero pollution. These plants can make more than 1000 times the output of our largest Nuclear reactor and have life span well over 100 years. I have had this in front of more of the highest government people than you would believe. Currently it's Congressman Tom Price. The problem is the government.
They can do Trillion dollar bail outs, but they don't put money into what is the most simple yet elegant, cheaper, higher output, and longer lived power when it's given to them on a silver platter. Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Newt Gingrich, Sam Nunn, Bob Barr, Tom Price and so many more that i have a wall full of their letters have all said this desearves the funding. Yet not one dime has been put into this. Utility companies wanted to buy the patent, but building any plant was NEVEr to be on the table.
The patent office saw this as energy independence and issued the patent on the 4th of July, 1995. Since that time I have been seaking the funding they all say this should get. The problem is our goverenment will not put the money where it needs to go even when they know and say this should be funded.
All the problems we now face would have never existed if this had been funded. Our government is at fault. Now the claim is they have to many problems to do anything with this. The millions of the highest wage jobs any working man could get are at the bottom of their priorities. Building these plants would make an economic explosion that would look liie an atomic bomb blast. But the government will not fund this and have denied us all the benifits.
The government built our first coal fired plant, the dams, the first Nuclear reactor, and the jet engine our natural gas plants now use. They put money into solar, wind, and many other things that can't come close to the 250 to more than 1 Million megawatts from a single plant that this can do. Everyhting they have money into makes pollution, has a shorter life span, and costs far more than what is in my patent.
We didn't have Space Shuttles, Nuclear reactors, dams and much more but we built them. This is far more simple, costs less to fund, lives longer, is cheaper to build, cheaper to operate, and makes zero polliton. It's clear the government only talks a good game, but is poorest player ever. They miss what is handed to them on a silver platter and we are now in this entire mess because they miss what is given them on the silver platter. Then they vote themselves raises for their incompetence.

The problem with renewable power is the government itself. I hold a US "Utility" patent # 5,430,333 which uses gravity to lift water to any height. Gravity pulls the water down through the same size water turbines as used in our large dams running the same size generators used in the dams. This is fuel less pollution free electric power that has more than 1000 times the electrical output ability of our largest Nuclear reactor with a life span well in excess of 100 years.
No fuel, no pollution, and the plants in this patent cost 25% of what our last Nuclear plant cost 30 years ago. These plants are the only ones ever that can mass produced, built in factory, making super durable, high quality., cookie cutter style parts that are interchangeable. Plants from 250 megawatts to well a Million megawatts, even a trillion megawatts is possible from a single plant. Not even Fusion somewhere in the far off future can compete with what I have patented.
The government has built every new power source we have ever had. The first coal fired plant, the dams, the first Nuclear reactor, and developed the jet turbine engine which powers our natural gas fired plants. My patent has been to Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Newt Gingrich, Sam Nunn, Bob Barr, plus many others, and now with Congressman Tom Price. Everyone of them spoke highly of this and said it deserves funding. Then all communication stops, no calls are returned, no email answered, just silence.
Utility companies from the Southern Company out to Southern California Edison offered to buy the patent for a fraction or the patent costs. They all said that building any plant was NEVER to be on the table. Newt got the in with the Southern Company and communication with his office ended when their low ball offer was not taken. Newt said said that their offer should be taken and ended all contact when it wasn't.
The patent office recognized this as energy independence and issued the patent on the the 4th of July. Patent law states that the machine must work as laid out in the patent or no patent will issued. Search "What can be Patented" at uspto.gov and read it for yourself.
Building these plants would make millions of the highest wage jobs ant working man could get and the jobs would be here for decades to come. The problem is the government will not the money where it is needed but does Trillion dollar bail outs that should never be needed.

If it's all about using the most viable "bio-mass", why is'nt Hemp considered? All these supposed "usefull" crops, are just another demoncratic ploy at cornering the market. Give us, "We The People" what we should have all along!
We can create fuel sources from virtualy anything. Lets just do it now! Or is the $$$ more important to the government than we are?

  • Posted By: Doreensgourmetfrozenpizza @ 01/20/2009 7:45:52 AM

we already have the technology, clean burning and already available---NATURAL GAS. My fleet of freezer trucks
the only ones I am aware of, deliver Doreens gourmet frozen pizza all around Chicago. My trucks use either CNG or gasoline. It costs about $1.50 per gallon. When gasoline was $4.39 a gallon, I paid a $1.50. Next week I am putting in a small service station to fuel my own trucks for more savings. I plan on spreading the word on this green concept, use it for my companies advantage for savings and good press. Natural gas (CNG) is 1. made in America 2. better for the enviroment, 3. already has a substantial distribution infrastrucure--all we need is more fueling stations, 4. the US has about a 400 year supply

Putting your money where your business is.More americans should be this smart instead of funding dictators and despots from iran to venezuela.

Suck it up and deal with oil dependance now.a return to low price foreign oil is NOT the solution.Eventually the cycle of growing economies and political strife will lead to increasingly hostile foreign governments and market forces causing a dramatic increase in oil prices.History repeats itself because we forget the past and make the same decisions and mistakes over and over again. An EQUAL mix of oil, natural gas, nuclear, wind, solar, hydro and geothermal power generation along with energy conservation by citizens, corporations and governments will quickly lead to energy independance.

True, and accordingly all its thuman rights violations problems and collatera damage problems going back to at least the first world war. Then again the power elite in the US is mostly based on oil and oil driven industry so the solution seems to be that those illuminatis (i.e. enlightened ones) spend their resources (money and spies) on figuring out how to produce the same amount of energy on U.S. soil.

Alcohol and alcohol-derived substances can replace petrochemicals for fuels, in plastic products, and in synthetic fabrics. Methanol can be produced from Coal, Natural Gas, or any kind of BioMass including animal waste, human waste, crop waste, etc. Methanol can also be converted into Dimethyl Ether (DME) that can replace Diesel fuel and power cars, trucks, locomotives, and ships. DME can also be distributed like propane gas and be used in home heating and for cooking.

Oil @ $150/barrel ...What sort of creature produces such prices?

  • Posted By: TheGardener @ 01/06/2009 11:00:46 PM

The oil beast could have been put to sleep many years ago and we could have saved ourselves a lot of misery with these camel riders who are holding the world in bondage because of their raw material of black oil.

H2O Car - Water Powered Car is on the market for a few years now. If Detroit had invested in this new energy source we would not need a bail out today!

Just AWESOME. Environment Friendly! A winner on all levels.

Adebayo Morakinyo - Nigeria . A desired step by the American government to reduce the overdependence on oil will be a major step. The need to provide a short-term and medium term solutions on renewable energies technologies will be a drastic measure in actualising the set plan . I want to suggest Biomass technology as a very short term solution which will develop both the indirect sector and the direct sector of the economy quickly. Take a step from Brazil. Good luck

All cars should be converted to use natural gas now, with prices set to reduce driving by forcing ride sharing or non-auto commuting. Oil should only be used to create diesel for transporation of goods by semi-truck and train. Biodiesel could be used for super-efficient cars. Plugin cars shuold be developed ASAP. Home heating should be converted to all electric. The increased demand for electricity should be filled strictly from wind and solar. Plastics should be made from non-petroleum products. It should not take decades to eliminate our demand for foreign oil; it should take years. It wouldn't take that long to convert the cars and home heating, as well as non-petroleum plastics of replacement of plastics by other materials. Building wind and solar plants and their support infrastructure can start now and should be completed to the initial necessary level in 5 years or less.

as long as the big companys are making moey from oil...all the little people, will have nothing to say...the power hungry rich, are powering this drive to keep the demand for oil...so, until someone gets serious enough about it...we will stay in this rut...a government voted by the people, for the people...i wonder who said this.

The idea that "[I]t is not really practical to distinguish between foreign and domestic supplies in the marketplace" is only partially true. The greater proportion of oil extracted in the US, the smaller the trade deficit and the smaller the risk to national security in the event of war in the Middle East or another oil embargo.
