Save the Planet, Save the Country

The best way to steer growth in the right direction is to put a value on carbon emissions.

Lets schedule Gore for a conference in N.C...HEADLINE Jan 14, 2009 ... RALEIGH ??? Governor Bev Perdue has declared a state of emergency for North Carolina due to the winter storm impacting most of the state

Does Krupp really believe this crap? How cap & trade can free us from the "debilitating grip" of oil is so far out of touch of reality that it begs the question as to whether he is up Gore's posterior so far that he can't see the light, or that he is directly profiting from such ridiculous statements. Cap & Trade of any commodity (assuming a carbon footprint is a commodity) does not eliminate the commodity. Oil will be with us for a very long, long time...for good reason. We need it. It does lots and lots of helpful, useful things for us. So get over it. Go count polar bears. Oh, wait, that would assume that you can count more than what there was just 20 years ago.

Nice to see that the carbon footprint delusion has it's own regular section in Newsweek. I would say, however, that it should be a sub-section of the Religion section, since the believers of Gore Vision...that the planet's got a "fever" that only by driving only electric cars can cure...have left all observed science (versus the computer projected forecasts) behind and have clearly entered the realm of faith. I wonder if the Church of Al gets a non-profit tax break?

PROMOTE CLEANING-UP THE ENVIRONMENT, BUT QUIT THE GLOBAL WARMING DIATRIBE

If we are to set serious guidelines to clean up our mess in the air and water, we should base decisions on sound data and not emotional hype. For example, ???

While Al Gore's efforts to clean up the air and water should be applauded, his and other arguments on Global Warming seem rooted in information now appearing to be incorrect.......

It seems we may not really be warming, but cooling.

No, the best way to steer the country is NOT to put a monetary value on carbon emissiions. The fact is that CO2 is having NO effect on the warming of this world. The only thing that is: that big ball of flame in the sky called the SUN! Even the Army Corp of Engineers have said, EMPHATICALLY, that global warming is coming from the Sun, not from man.
Add to that, the fact that we are still coming out of a "Little Ice Age"..... and you realize that the warming and melting of the polar ice caps we are seeing is totally NORMAL for a world that for a long period of time.... was colder than it should have been.

The nation will be in greater debt if great resource is to be spent to confirm or carry out Al Gore's dream or mandate that the current conventional electric power generation which produces CO2 be replaced by renewable energy, i.e. solar, wind and bio fuel in ten years. The available experience in Germany shows that solar power can hardly exceed one percent of total energy generation. Furthermore, the new administration does not yet have investment plan on building new nuclear power plant, which is clean energy.

That really started off with a bang. FDR's successful assault on the Great Depression.

If that is the definition of success, then the author's definition of failure would be what?
