NOBAMA!!!
Gotta say, HR, I'm finally starting to see what your message is... And you do make me laugh too. Tongue in cheek works for me. Thanks.
People need to remember that if W. had spent all his time at The Ranch and never showed up in the Oval Office at all, we would be hugely better off. Then they can judge Obama appropriately (at the end of his second term, that is).
Unfortunately not true. Cheney, Rummy and the other neocons were in charge whether Bush was at the ranch or not.
I rarely comment on liberal blogs like this but I have to say that Pia1981, lisarae38 & HarleyisHere are three of the stupidest, most vapid people I have ever read. Wake Up! You are living in a delusion. People like you are the reason this country is in the shape it is in. You think you are intellectual elites but you are woefully uninformed and your blind ignorance is dangerous to my children, the USA and even to yourselves.
mrs.mwp-you are rude and disrespectful. If you are a Rep, it is people such as you who have given the party the bad name it now has. Btw-I am no Liberal so stop labeling all Obama supporters as Liberals! I vote for who I think is the better candidate. I have voted Rep in the past. Many Reps elected Obama. Let's drink to that, mrs.mwp!
I'm another non-liberal who voted for Obama because he was the superior candidate.
Obama is inheriting an increasingly bad hand! Between the horrible economy, created by the Republicans, the bad situation in the middle east, not helped by this administration and everything else bad created by the neocons, he has his work cut out for him. Unlike the current President, Obama is "smart", unlike the current administration, he has chosen smart people who are NOT "ideologs". He has contnually stated that it will take time but as long as the right wing nuts continue to block him just for the sake of it, he will have a more difficult time. We have to pull together and support him. You right wingnuts who blog here need to move on or just plain move out!
suzyku... This is the most ridiculous post I have seen in a long time.
Obama is in over his head... or 'pay grade' as he would say. He promised 'Change' and is delivering the Clinton Administration. This is 'Change'? His background is "the junior Senator from Cook County, Chicago". Are you now aware of the politics of Cook County? The MSM did a nice job of sheltering you from that 'fact' during the election... Just how did Obama get ahead in that cess pool... How did his wife get those 6-digit paying jobs? How did he get his mansion?
Perhaps you need to 'move.on' from this leftist blog... and find some real news sources that are not in the Tank for Obama.
Please post a source for your innuendo that there was anything nefarious in Michelle getting that job. Double Ivy League degrees might have been a factor. A top law firm hiring her is a clue. They don't carry dead weight for any reason.
Might it be that Obama's authorship aided the purchase on that "mansion"?
Why do YOU keep returning here to keep posting right-wing propaganda drivel?
Substantiation please to your paranoia that Obama and his wife somehow did something evil to improve their stations in life and help others on the way.
Even right-wingers such as Bush and McCain said they "greatly admired" what Obama has managed to accomplish in life through using his own wits and intelligence. Right-wingers such as Bush and McCain in no way insinuated that Obama got ahead through swimming through a cesspool of a corrupt political system like the delusions you have in your head.
Rather they would say that Obama managed to RISE ABOVE the corruption to get where he is now. This is the belief of the majority of Americans who elected Obama as our president. Got it straight, now?
Not on your life. We are fighting for what is right. You godless fools think you have the answers, but you are dead wrong. The problems we are encountering belong at the feet of a number of people, Bush included. But his problem is that he is too liberal. He spent like most libs and didn't practive conservative principles. The answer is to get true conservatives in control of the government. We'd all be much safer and more prosperous for it.
Oh, so the continued eradication of the middle class and middle class jobs and creating a society of two class rich and poor America would bring peace and prosperity. Maybe to a few. What conservative control would actually bring is a Feudalism government of more than 90 percent of the population living in poverty (and working at Walmart style service jobs for minimum wages) not seen since the Middle Ages.
I'm not a Repub, but I did find your comment funny. You say for them to move on, but you haven't moved on about the Bush Admin. Kind of funny that your not taking your own advise.
Yes, let us lower expectations for the media's chosen one now - after they trumpeted for months about how he can fix all the world's problems and propelled him into office based solely on his promises to right all that is wrong. Isn't Change and Hope enough anymore? It sure was during the election! In fact, take a look at the cover of Newsweek's latest homage to Obama (on the right of this page) entitled "How to Fix The World", complete with a picture of Obama looking serious. Great job, media! You've done your job in making the biggest "celebrity" President, and we will all surely suffer for it.
I remember the press asking whether he can do various things, and offering advice and warnings about the difficulties, but I do not remember the press saying "he can fix all the world's problems". I only recall hearing that last part as a way to misrepresent or anticipatorily criticize Obama.
Let's see what the Messiah Obama will do to "change" this country around? Will he tell us that all cannot be solved in 4 years and re-elect him in 4 years. Bailing out a doomed auto industry with rich CEO's and greedy union makers, who only make crappy cars, The Dems are going to sink us just like the Reps....Americans are suckers anyone saying the right words will get elected, worked for Bush and will for Obama
I'm an R who doesn't remember us sinking prior to the last eight years. My impression is that if the sinking continues, then it will be due to the last eight years.
Good Buddy Tony, Blago (at least he's tough), ACORN, WeatherF**k Ayers, Dr. J. Wright, Father Flamer, Aduchi, ACORN, Chicago, F. M. Davis, Cousin Odinga & burned alive Christians, Louie F. & the bow-tie bandits, Kenya, Indonesia, Islam, Birth Certificates, Communism, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Birds of a Feather...........
You asked for it...You got it......Toyota....

hmmm....me thinks me smells a chipmunk turd....nasty little buggere they is.....
Allah Akbar little one....may the moon goddess shine bright...
NOBAMA!!!
Calling Obama a crook and a fraud? Man, that's an insult (to crooks and frauds!).
Not to worry Howard, 46% of us didn???t buy the Obama snake oil and are in no danger of being disillusioned. Being in charge means having to choose, like Pastor Rick Warren delivering the invocation at your inauguration. The true believers and independents will realize they have been duped just in time for the 2010 congressional elections. Obama will prove to be as dynamic a president as he was effective as a senator ??? go ahead, try and name one thing he changed.
Obama raised expectations to where they are by chanting change and hope over and over again, and rarely providing even a clue as to what he would actually do. That got him a majority of the voters, despite his inexperience and unsavory ties with criminals and haters, because they decided he would change things in the direction they wanted. The gay community decided he would champion gay civil rights in both the military and civilian life, Jewish voters decided he would continue to be a friend to Israel, etc, etc. And everyone had reason to think we would have a fresh new era in politics. Well now we see the stench of the cesspool of Chicago corruption with Rezco, Obama, Emanuel, Axelrod, and Blagojevich all tied together, moving into the White House, Gay voters are beginning to realize that gay civil rights of any kind are unlikely under Obama as he invites a man who equates their rights with pedophilia and incest to give his inaugural invocation, and we'll find out fairly quickly whether he truly supports Israel or will pressure them to give in to Terrorism as many people foretold during the election. All in all I think that we have reason to lower our expectations where Obama is concerned....but hope springs eternal......he hasn't even taken office yet.......we should give him a chance!
After 8 years of george bush, how could expectations BE any lower?
Obama couldn't do a worse job, even if he tried!
Oh Yea of little faith. We're talking politics here...it can ALWAYS get worse...and will. In the words of every politician ever, "Trust me."
I've known Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, the GOP leader in the Senate, for 30 years. He just won reelection. He does not mind taking unpopular stands. He will have questions, some of them reasonable.

Like what's in it for Toyota?
What a joke, Obama, his team and his supporters main goal during the election was to raise expectations. Remember hope. What are you telling is, that it was really hopelessness that he was running on.
The liberal MSM is a joke. Obama made promises that no rational person thought could be kept, but all the irrational Bush Derangement Syndrome liberals didn't want to doubt their Messiah. Obama will be a failure. Not because of what he inhereted, but because he and his followers are living in la la land.
Now your coming to terms with the fact Obama can't do what he said he would. If he was a republican this magazine would have called him out long time ago and not so nicely. I just wonder how are they going to blame this on Bush
Disagree. Obama can do it, he has to hit the ground running and get programs pushed through. He's been in the Senate and knows how sluggish and contrarian it can be. The President is given 100 days and at the end of 100 days we'll see if he's capable. He's certainly got the confidence.
We got what we voted for. The next four years are going to be a roller coaster. I hope my harness is tight.
Wonder what Mr. Fineman's pay for this article was: emotional or monetary. Sounds like a pulling lineman coming around the corner to make things easier for the following halfback.
President Obama will indeed be the president of change. He promised it and I believe it will be so. He promised solutions to the economy, to the budget, to the Washington stalemate, to global warming, to energy in 10 years or less. Now he has to make it so, in the words of Captain Kirk.
And iven if he doesn't, he will be the President of change: of changed promises, or changed solutions, of changed openess, of changed truthfullness. I am hoping for the former, but in light of political reality, I will not be surprised to see the latter. Indeed, he will be The One. How we finish the phrase will depend on his performance. I wish him the best...he will need it. As to Mr. Fineman, I hope his check clears.
Always lower your expectations. That's a great way to start off a new job. That's part of what's wrong with this country. If you expect mediocrity, that's all you'll get. Way to go, press.
As the world turns to the US to lead the way to finding solutions, we need to raise expectations, not lower them. When President Carter spoke to Americans about the difficulties facing us in 1979 and the need to sacrifice together to solve the problems, Reagan came on and told us to be more selfish. 9/11, when the nation was ready to pull together, Bush came on and told us to go out and spend. We need to learn from history. Republicans have shown us that ignoring problems, lowering our expectations as to our ability to solve the issues facing us, leads to failure. Democrates have shown that by taping into the American will, we can solve any crises. Part of Obama's success was tapping into Americans willingness to win in the face of the crises. Will he be 100% succesful, probably not. But like President Franklin Roosevelt, you try something and if that doesn't work, you try something else. Being from Utah, this was brought home last night when the University of Utah beat a great Alabama team. If Utah had lowered thier expectations they would not have won. And Alabama, even in thier losing, didn't lower thier expectations. They played hard until the end. Lowering expectations doesn't win games or solve world problems.

Obama is going to find out very quickly that there is a lot of difference between campaign retoric and the actual facts. He is going to have to "grow up fast. " He is also going to find out that George Bush knew what he was doing. It is going to be very interesting this next year.
