Many people suggest that Obama will have 100 days of a honeymoon with Republican legislators in Washington. I don't think so! Republican leaders will try to get Obama to "blink" beginning on the first day. If they achieve even little success in slowing Obama down they will celebrate it by trying to stop anything absolutly anything that Obama suggests or does. That is the way it will be. His honeymoon will last about two minutes with a Republican party that has become totally out of touch with the American people.

I'm really glad you are not part of the Obama team. There is absolutely nothing wrong with approaching the presidency with an idealist zeal. However, Obama has proven, several times over already (look at Cabinet appointments, etc.) that he's more of a pragmatist than he earlier advertised. As justanothervet stated, "make up your minds, Newsweek!"

No offense intended if I'm wrong, clintonlover, but you're coming off as a Republican troll trying to stir up trouble. Although you're correct that the Newsweek coverage seemed biased toward Obama during the election (and I say this as a fan of his), Fineman's piece here continues to be very sympathetic and doesn't seem to be complaining at all.

One other reason I have some doubts about your sincerity is that although Obama HAS inspired a cult of personality , there was never one around Sen. Hillary Clinton aside from the minuscule numbers of fake PUMA trolls. There were and probably still are Democrats who believed she was better for the job and certainly her husband has his big fans, but Hillary never engendered that much love even in her supporters.

But hey, if I'm wrong about you and you're part of some obscure club of Hillary fanatics, I apologize for doubting your sincerity.

I'm glad you aren't on the Obama team. While I must assume from your reading that you consider yourself a realist, there is absolutely nothing wrong with an idealist approach. However, time and time again, Obama has already proven that he's more of a pragmatist than he earlier advertised. As justanothervet stated, Newsweek, "make up your minds!"

Lowering expectations from comparisons of Obama to Lincoln, King Arthur, Ghandi, JFK and RFK, Roosevelt is a laugh. NEWSWEEK has contributed to the raising of expectations and even lowering expectations at times. Make up your minds NEWSWEEK you are doing a dis-service to the USA and the office of the presidency.
