If Burris is as great and honest a man, how come that he has NOT been successful in his bids for any position for the last few times? This shows that he had been thoroughly rejected by the voters and now he is showing his true self - totally unethical and immoral in accepting a position that is deemed to be totally tainted with corruption. We should first find out how much he paid for it before he is even admitted to the floor.

"In 2002, Cruz received a gubernatorial pardon based on innocence." Why was a pardon necessary if he was found innocent in the third trial? Something is missing here in this story.

As a lifelong Chicagoan I have had the pleasure of NOT VOTING for Mr. Burris for Governor, for Senator and for Mayor of Chicago.

Luckily, my fellow Illinoisians also voted against his promotion.

This guy is an empty suit, who wasn't even the Rodmeister's first choice for the tainted spot.

If it is true that this is how Burris acted, then he is not the right appointee.

However, it is very important to keep in mind that there are no dots connecting Burris and Obama. This is where we constantly get off track -- guilt by association, connecting the wrong dots. It's our lackof intellectual maturity that we can't think these situations through.

If Burris is the wrong one, it's as simple as "next."

When I first heard about Burris's appointment, I thought, well, OK. This man was propably not on the playing field before the Gov's arrest, but he is probably a man above reproach or else the Gov wouldn't have appointed him. Now that I have read this article I withdraw any positive comments I may have previously voiced. Any man who would have allowed an innocent man to sit in jail- let alone on death row- has no business in the Senate. When Attorney Generals have to be elected and re-elected it becomes more about the numbers than truth and justice, which Burris demonstrated by doing nothing in this case. Evidently coruption isn't confined just to the politicians but to the law enforcement too. For shame, Burris. Withdraw gracefully before it becomes a nasty fight.
