The identification of 9/11 hijackers' remains presents a thorny ethical and political problem.

Seven years after 9/11, the agonizing work of identifying the dead continues, with one question unresolved: what to do with the remains of the perpetrators. Grappling with that question is a group of coroners, medical examiners and grieving victims' family members--all of whom feel they have a strong personal stake in the tiny fragments of tissue and bone fromthe 19 Al-Qaeda hijackers.     I agree with your sentiments & your intent; however, the High Moral Ground must not become Boot Hill.

    Desecrating their bodies in a manner that ensures their road to Paradise is closed to future traffic makes sense. It is disgusting & below the usual American standards, however, it still makes sense.

    If we prevent their dead from receiving the reward that they died for, is it possible that even one less Islamite will be come a Terrorist? I don't know the answer to that question, nor the next one. How many innocent lives will be saved because that Islamite chose another line of work?

    If descrating the corpses of Islaamic Terrs saves life, I'm all for it. If descrating the corpses of Islamic Terrs causes them to treat American corpses with the respect they deserve, I am all for it.

    I thought basically the same things. Actually some of these were funnier than what I thought of.

    The people who did this were twisted and ignorant. I do, however, worry about sinking to their low level and losing our moral high ground. The perpetrators and their supporters are the ignorant savages. We are not and neither are the rational majority of muslims (however big or small the rational majority is) and we MUST suppress our worst instincts and rise above the dirt bags in our response to the animalistic terrorists. You cannot defeat terrorists by sinking to their disgusting level.
