If Obama Is Serious

There is no such nation as "Palestinians" and no such country as "Palestine," neither in historical nor in geographical sense. It is purely an invention of the former Soviet Union. How come the world is not screaming when those Arab animals send suicide bombers into Israel to kill innocent people, when they are specifically targeting Jewish schools and day care centers, when they kill teenagers at the dancing clubs, innocent bystanders on the outings with their families in shopping malls and cafes, or people at weddings and religious ceremonies? Those arab animals do not deserve to live; all their cries for help are propaganda. When left alone, they cannot build, grow, or develop anything new; they can just destroy. Jews went into a desert and created a beautiful country; when Arabs got a former Jewish settlement with well-developed infrastracture, they could not even learn to apply it to their own advantage, they just destroyed everything and started complaining about their bad living conditions again. Come on, stop complaining, killing, and demanding help, get a shovel, and start working and building for your own future. Instead the Arabs are training their own children to murder and then are hiding behind their backs. They deserve whatever they are getting. Let us not forget those famous words, "if arabs put down their weapons today, there will be no terrorism. If Jews put down their weapons, there will be no Israel."

The Author of this Article, Mr. Aaron David Miller, wrote this from a Secular point of view, with very little facts. He tried and failed.
The point I am trying to make is this:
The Holy Bible deals with all of this, this is all prophecy coming true. I really don't care if all of you don't believe me, as I am washed in the blood of the lamb. I am a Christian, I know what the Bible says, and I know it is true!
The Jewish people are "GOD's Chosen people", it says in the bible when Jesus returns, the world will be as "In the days of Lot, and as in the days of Noah" You read the Bible as to what was going on in the days of Lot, or what was going on in the days of Noah.
Homosexuality was at an all time high, in those days, that is why God destroyed the world with a flood. In the days of Lot, once again homosexuality was at an all time high, so God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, with flaming balls of fire from heaven.
Now if you read what is to come, you will see that God will destroy the earth with fire! and Once again, Homosexuality is at an all time high!
You see, whether or not you believe in God , does not make a bit of difference, GOD will destroy the earth again, and he will deal with ALL sinners! It doesn't matter if you believe or not, it will happen, and when it does, you best be on Gods team, you best be born again, saved christian! If not, well, we won't be seeing you in Heaven!
It is all written down in the Bible, don't believe me? READ IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

JRodriguez2k, look at the number of Palestinian civilian casualties vs. Israeli civilian casualties. Now who would you say was the callous killer?

Let's see if rockets were being fired into the US from Mexico or Canada would we stand for it? It may well happen on day, I would love to see how Newsweek address that issue, especially if women and children are killed. This world is a much more scary place that it has ever been. If we do not stand up to these islamic radicals & terrorist, who will?

I am a Canadian, Anglican, of British desent. I am afraid that I never wanted to be soldier, but totally respect those that are & fight to protect our countries & help the lest fotunate countries fight against dictators & or terrorists. What I would really like, is that all of these ignorant blogers stop for a minute & TRY to Think..."What would YOU do if a terrorist group sent hundreds of rockets raining down on YOUR City or Country???" If all the Hamas understands is force, I fully support Isreal in fighting back with force. They suffered enough during WW2 They learned that if they just "take it" as it comes they could be all killed, especially by hate mongers such as Hamas. Why haven't there been protests about the Hamas
breaking the cease fire, & sending rockets into Isreal? Isreal has given so much to the world. What has Hamas given?
Leave Isreal alone & let them ride the world of these horrible hate mongers.

Thank you Mr. Miller for a fairly even handed article. Thank you for not making the entire 1.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza villains in this heinous attack. I.5 Million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, the most densely populated area in the entire world, with one of the lowest incomes per capita in the world. They have been living under occupation since long before there was a Hamas. What was Israel's excuse for terrorizing them prior to the creation of Hamas? That they are Palestinians. The same answer it has been since 1948 when they first began massacring and terrorizing Palestinians, before Israel even existed!
Now, since summer, 2007, Israel had a blockade on Gaza, long periods were no food, no clean water, no gas, no electricity would be allowed into Gaza. Even with the 6 month Cease-Fire agreement from June, 2008, Israel continued its blockade. In November, Israel bombed Gaza in an unprovoked attack killing 4 Palestinians and then attacked a second time in November, killing an additional 3 Palestinians.

Why are the innocent victims in Palestine always called the "terrorists", always called the "provokers" of Israeli attacks? Let's lay the blame at the feet of the real aggressors, at the feet of the true Terrorists in this conflict and definitely in the current assault on Palestinians in Gaza. The true problem is Israel.

An even handed policy on Israel and Palestine, a fair and full discussion on everything that has occurred in the region, a true willingness to find, discuss, negotiate, and implement peace is what is needed for Palestinians and Israelis. I truly pray that Barack Obama is the man we hope he is. I pray that Barack Obama is the man for the job! I pray for peace for all people in the region. At the very least, I pray the people of Palestine will stop suffering at the hands of Israel and their supporters (i.e. the USA) simply because they have the audacity to be Palestinian and wish to live in peace in their own land, Palestine.

Apparently, you are very excited about the massacre of the Palestinian people by Israel. Apparently, you are waiting for the complete Genocide of all Palestinians by Israel. Apparently you can't wait for the complete extermenation of all Palestinians so you can get on with the "prophecy" that you speak of. Amazing that anyone can make such a comment and still consider themselves human. And you believe in Jesus?!?!

why is it our responsiblity to tell Isreal how to protcet themselves where is it wrong to defend yourself.

Wow you should have ran for president. It seems that you have all the right answers when it comes to Israel get rockets launched at them from the North and the Southern borders. Maybe it seems to me that they should not have to give up their land that they once rightfully took in war times, but no to satisfy the world the give parts of their land back to Arabs and that just makes it easier for Arabs to kill them. I'm confused - if Israel has every right to defend herself, how can that be done without going after Hamas. Israel has every right to go after Hamas. The people of Gaza voted Hamas into power which is a world wide recognized terrorist organization. If the people of Gaza truly want a government that will set up a true government to help them rise as a true recognized country world wide then they need to vote someone into power that has those objectives and not the one objective Hamas has and that is to destroy Israel. Hamas is turning the Gaza territory into one huge terrorist organization. When the people of Gaza get tired of Hamas putting guns and other weapons around schools and hospitals and close to civilians, then maybe they will do something to change their sad predicament. I blame the people of Gaza for their problems.

Imagine living in a country where you were at constant war because your neighboring countries want to exterminate you completely and they try to do so by creating terror, destruction, and murders. It???s not a matter of ruthless actions of retaliation from Israel but rather of protecting your family, home and country from a callous killer.

Mr. Miller, I respectfully disagree with your thoughts and your solutions to solving a very serious crisis impacting the Middle East and the US. It is extremely important for people to understand that this is not a war between the Israelis and Palestinians. This is a war between Hamas and the Palestinians. Israelis care a hell of a lot more for those suffering in Gaza than those who are a part of Hamas. Hamas doesn't care about their people. Israel cares!!! Doing away with Hamas will allow the good and peaceful Palestinians to live a productive and peaceful life and it is Israel that can make that happen for them. Israel is NOT the enemy. Please Please It is so important that people understand this. If Israel wanted to do away with Gaza and all its people, they could succeed tomorrow and not lose one of its young soldiers in the process. This is NOT the goal of the Israelis!!!. They do not want to do away with the people of Gaza. If the tables were turned and Hamas could do away with Israel and all its people tomorrow, they wouldn't hesitate. We are dealing with human beings on one side and inhumane beings on the other side. Those representing Hamas have verbally said that they want to wipe out all the jews. That is a fact. It's been written and verbalized by this terroristic group. It's never been a fight over territory.
I pray that Obama can remain strong for the State of Israel and continue US Support. I pray for the Israeli Soldiers and their families who never asked to be attacked but must defend their people and their state. I went to Israel this summer and saw the 18 year old boys and girls in uniform. It breaks my heart that this wonderful State has to always live in fear and be on high alert. The Israelis deserve more. They deserve what we, the American People have.
Our government would never have been able to restrain themselves for 8 years. We had one horrific attack in 2001 and it was only a matter of months before the US engaged in war. Can you imagine holding out for 8 years with daily attacks to you and your family here in the US??? I can't!!!! Israel needs to defend themselves and in doing so, they are helping the Palestinian People who want nothing more than to live in peace.

Peace is going to be darn near impossible if the Obama administration has to deal with hardliners in Israel or Gaza. We can't force these groups to co-exist peacefully, both the Israelis and Gaza Palestinians will need to decide that for themselves. If the US, Israel, and Gaza are truly serious, at least two conditions will need to be met

1) Israel must have the right to exist (with borders that both sides can agree upon - I don't think 1967 applies anymore)
2) The Palestinians in Gaza must have the right to live as free people, not citizens living under an occupation.
