    ???Obama must get tough with Israel..??? isn???t just the case! You need to be fair when publishing your news and articles, and please try to get your information from accredited and neutral parties, not just what the Jewish lobby tells you. I???m not gonna give you a lesson in history, but in 1948 the Israelis have officially started their ethnic cleansing of PALESTINE, they massacred its indigenous people, demolished its villages, and dispossessed whoever was left. Some people managed to stay and resist and they???re still doing a great job at it.
    It???s totally untrue and unfair to say that ??????the transgressions of the Palestinians (and there are many, including terror, violence and incitement)???.???, the indigenous people of Palestine are trying to resist the Israelis who???ve occupied their lands and deprived them of every right. I don???t expect you to understand or sympathize; you???ve done the same to the 50 million Indians who once lived in America.
    Hamas ???home-made??? rockets are no match to the Government of Israel F16, Apache, tanks, and high-tech weapons, which ironically are paid for by the US tax payers money.
    Please do yourself a favor and go read about the 600+ innocent people who have been killed and the 3000 wounded in the past 13 days by the Israeli army because their only crime is they want to free their country.

      Show us a map of this "Palestine" of which you speak. Explain to us why ALL the neighboring Muslim countries won't take the "Palestinians" into their countries.

      And by "their only crime", I gather you mean, "Other than killing innocent civilians with daily rocket attacks".

        unfortunately you read Israel on the map where it should be Palestine.
        and as for neighboring countries not accepting palestinian refugees, first this is wrong, jordan, lebanon, syria, iraq, egypt and many other countries have accepted palestinians since 1948. all these refugees have the right to return to their homeland sooner or later.

      Hamas did stop shelling Israel for 4 months during the cease fire, but israel raided Gaza, killing their leader and eventually killing 5 other palestinians. Then the rockets came back.

          Just Google it!! It's all over the web. You will get about 669,000 entries, most of which will say "Israel breaks ceasefire". Don't read too much, do you. I remember the day it happened!!! Hamas did not fire a single rocket untli they killed the Hamas leader. Look it up. Its easy.

    Israel is in the RIGHT here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They gave warning, they tried negotiating, but you cannot negotiate with a group raised from birth to HATE. They've turned the other cheek several times taking attacks againest them!!!!! It's about time they stand up and strike back. How long were they supposed to sit there and take it???!!!!! What human being on the face of this earth would not eventually take a stand for themselves? And enough with the Ratio BS. You ever hear the phrase "If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen?" If Palastine wasnt ready to handle the retaliation they should not have struck in the first place!!! What Israel is doing is just plain common sense and human nature, anyone with some dignity would defend themselves.

    I admit that i am not up on all the issues of Isrealy and Hamas, but I do have a question if anyone has an answer. Regarding this statement

    Let the Palestines stop their major preoccupation of destroying Israel then Israelis will never bother them. If the Arabs swear to annihilate Israel then the latter will endlessly defend themselves. It is unfortunate that most observers criticize Israel for defending herself and forget the provocations against her. Also what most people do not know is that Palestines are very cunning ... good at working public sentiments in their favor ... firing missiles from hospitals, etc.

      Actually YOU need to get your history staright. This is why Arabs are so against Israel. They have been brought up on false stories of victimhood. The truth is that the Arab leaders told their people to leave one Israel was declared a state and then to attack the Jews. Those who did not listen are the Arab Israelis living freely in Israel today. And even before Israel was declared a state, Arabs in the area were constantly staging pogroms on the Jews living there. Just read about the one in 1929-and that's not an isolated incident. If the Arabs don't want peace, give them war.

        i know the history of my homeland very well. the lie your media keeps feeding you that palestinians voluntarily left their country is simply stupid and can't be bought, you leave your job, your girlfriend, your car, but not your country and where you belong.
        with the great help of USA and Britain, there's now more than 6 million palestinian refugees worldwide who long to visit their lands. as for the palestinians who still live in Israel, go there and see how they can't move or work freely, and how they're constantly threatened to be expelled.
        israel isn't a democratic country, it practices terror and group punishment on an entire population under the supervision of the UN and approval and support of USA and its double standards policy.

    If there really was "toughness and fairness" the US and every other country would back Israel up 100% and demand it use more force to protect itself. For Israeli civilians to be attacked the way they have been and constantly live under terror is unacceptable. If Hamas were doing to the US what it has done to Israel, and US cities were being bombed, I guarantee you that the US would have long ago bombed the entire Gaza strip until not one single rocket would be launched onto US soil. Why is it so hard for some people to understand that it is unacceptable to demand that Israel make MORE concessions? Isn't it about time that the Palestinians make some move towards peace (and not just talk)? Although it is convenient for the US to keep demanding more and more from Israel, it is due time that the US back Israel more!

    And, for those who need to get a clue: Israel has been calling for Palestinians to leave the specific buildings where missiles have been found so that there will be a minimum amount of casualties. If that???s not humane, I don???t know what is.

    I agree with maham. We preach about our precious war on terror, when we are both practicing and supporting terrorism. How might we (America) react if someone pushed their way into our territories and forcefully put us in a in a political and economical choke-hold.? Weren't we founded on the principles of revolting for the sake of our people's freedom? We need to stop funding Israel's genocide of the Palestinians for our own special interests.

      That land never did and does not and never will belong to the "Palestinians." Palestinian claims to that land are fabricated, only supported by our joke of a U.N. and all the terrorist nations within it who think the world would be better off without the Jews. Arabs themselves created that whole "Palestinian refugee" situation in the first place, by the way - the Jews never threatened the Palestinians with "convert, die, or be expelled." What about all the genuine Jewish refugees from Russia, Ukraine, Morocco, Ethiopia (just to name a few), that were expelled under threat of death while being forced to surrender everything they owned? Nobody seems to deem them worthy of mention. And "occupied territories?" Give me a break! Lands have been conquered and reconquered all over the globe for a long, long time and, somehow, Israel doesn't get to lay claim to its own sovereign territory? Only Israel should be expected to trade land for peace? Only Israel should be expected to give back land it won pushing back wars they didn't even start? Do some of you even listen to yourselves? Do you realize that Israelis all need to know where their closest bomb shelter is? Why should Israelis be forced to live in a situation that requires every apartment to be built with a reinforced saferoom? Could you imagine living in that situation? As someone else stated, the Palestinians have gotten tons of aid and money from all over the world, and what have they done with it? Let their own people live in misery while they smuggle missiles in to shoot at Israeli civilians. Israel is far too patient, in fact, and cares too greatly about world opinion. Let them do what they need to do. We would.

If Hamas wins, they will spread the violence across the world in the name of Allah. After all, the Quaran calls for the death of all infidels.

    Israel is a certified Country of Residence for Isaelis. If that land was not inhabited by a majority of Israelis, it was mostly because of fearing for their lives from attacks of Arab countries. I feel sorry for the Palestinians or anybody that must live under a terrorist groups rule. Being used as human shields? The countless stories of their own people putting them in harms way? Money being funneled into the military instead of providing for their own people? So, yes, with Israel going into Gaza and trying to combat militants who will not stop shooting rockets over the border, I feel very sorry for the innocent families and children that get caught up in that.

    Do you think Israel would be in there if the militants would come to grips, lay down their arms and mortars and rockets and talk sensibly? Even if they did, don't you think Amadenijad (sp?) means it when he has said countless times he wants Israel wiped off the map. How in the hell can you not see they will not stop until they have ALL of Israel? You can't negitiate and give and take. That has not worked time and time again. If Gaza can get their rogue miltary groups under control, help stop the flow of weapons to them, live up to cease fires and agreed negotiations, this all might work out. Instead you have them digging tunnels to move weapons, suicide bombers going thru checkpoints, launching mortars and rockets into Israel on a steady basis? And you want to go to the table with them or get tough on Israel? Where is the logic in that?

    The solution is simple: Let the Palestines stop bothering the Israelis; let them occupy themselves with development and not the destruction of the State of Israel - then, there will be peace. To the contrary and what some people do not understand, Palestines major preoccupation is destruction of Israel - Consequently, Israelis constantly struggle to stay alive - it is not oppression.
