ISRAEL HAS EVERY REASON TO WORRY. WHEN OBAMA TAKES OFFICE IT WILL PROBABLY BE THE ABSOLUTE END FOR ISRAEL. OBAMA WILL ALL BUT ELIMINATE MILITARY SPENDING IF HE CAN AND LEAVE OUR FRIENDS SUCH AS ISRAEL DANGLING. OBAMA RECEIVED DONATIONS FROM ARAB COUNTRIES AND HE WILL HAVE TO PAY THEM BACK IN SOME WAY. THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK THAT ISRAEL IS THE AGGRESSOR HERE HAVE FALLEN FOR THE LIBERAL MEDIA AND THEIR SPINNING THE NEWS SO AS TO MAKE ISRAEL SEEM THAT WAY. YOU HEAR PLENTY ABOUT HOW PALESTINIANS ARE DYING AND LIVING IN FEAR. HOW ABOUT ISRAELIS AND HAVING TO LIVE SURROUNDED BY COUNTRIES THAT VOW THE DESTRUCTION OF THE JEWISH STATE? OBAMA IS NO MIRACLE WORKER, HE WILL HAVE NO EFFECT ON BRINGING PEACE TO THE MIDDLE EAST. HIS POLICIES WILL ONLY EMBOLDEN THE TERRORISTS AND MORE ISRAELIS WILL DIE.

The support for Isreal has to stop, over the 60 years we been giving them too much and getting nothing in response. They kill our navy officers, kill US student who protesting against resettlements of Palestinians and everything is kept under DL. We have give them so much financial aid and none of it has to be justify where it goes, which most of it goes to military and bombing civilians and using gestapo tactics to drag palestinians from their homes. If Iran would get the nukes maybe that would help becaus that would restrain Isreal. As Jews are greedy people and they will always want more land. People may call Palestinians terrorist, but citiziens of Europe in WWII use similar tactics against Germans. Its hard for them to fight against military that is supply by US might. I love US to death but Im deeply ashamed that we support Isreal so much, it has to STOP and rest of the world will see us different. I just hope America will wake up one day and hopefuly with this President it will.

Miller..... Why is the mainstream press hounding Israel when all they are doing is defending themselves, just like the US would do if say Mexico was launching rockets across its borders into the US. Why don't you mention that Hamas is a TERRORIST Organization who wants nothing more then to eliminate all Jews and Israel off the map. Palestinians or Arabs as there has never been a country called Palestine. Palestine was a name given by a Roman General who wanted to wipe Israel off of the map, so he put the word Palestine on the map. That's where it came from. Israel has the right to defend itself, as we do, against terrorists. They have had enough given enough land to terrorists, land which is rightfully Israel', in order to broker a peace. If there really was "toughness and fairness" the US and every other country would back Israel up 100% and demand it use more force to protect itself. For civilians to be attacked the way they are and constantly live under terror is unacceptable. If Hamas were doing to the US what it has done to Israel, and Philadelphia and New York and L.A. were being bombed, I guarantee you that the US would have long ago bombed the entire Gaza strip until not one single rocket would be launched onto US soil. Why is it so hard for some people to understand that it is unacceptable to demand that Israel make MORE concessions. You can???t spend decades systematicaly breaking down the social infrestructure of a peoples, as Isreal has done in Gaza, and then expect them to be able to do something as simple as police themselves. Have your home bulldozed so that a new house can be built for a jewish settler. Wait for death cause you have not eaten or drank water in days and the propects of getting food or drink are zero cause your oppressors want you to starve and have restricted your access to those essentials.. All of you may think the sun shines out of Israels ass but I think that they are worse than Hitler. I must agree with Mr. Miller, that a tougher stance on Israel is necessary. While the Palestinians certainly do shoulder a great deal of the blame, we cannot ignore how the Israeli government seems to be unwilling to provide any real changes to the system that keeps most of the Palestinian people from living freely, working freely, and learning freely. The actions that the Israelis allow, whether it is turning a blind eye to illegal Jewish settlements, cutting off vital foreign aid and supplies, or bombing "targets" in densely-populated urban areas, simply makes the Palestinians and the Arabic nations resent them more, and serves as a recruitment tool for extremist groups. This is the reason that extremists were elected to power within their government, even though most Palestinians probably are much more moderate in their leanings. Israel needs to learn that progress will not be made until they are willing to change as much as they are asking the Palestinians to change.

We all have our personal biases but I cannot believe that amount of hatred coming through these comments. Both sides are just creating an ongoing cycle of violence. Hamas does not speak for all Palestinians - most are willing to live side by side with Israelis (as long as they are able to have the SAME RIGHTS as the Israelis). And although Israel is claiming to only attack to defend itself, do they really think that killing young children and destroying homes and families will not lead to more terrorism? That in itself creates disgruntled, unhappy, desperate people irrational enough to commit acts of violence in revenge.

Obama has the opportunity to make change and I think that he might actually do it. I agree with this article in that America is doing a disservice to the entire world if it keeps blindly supporting Israel as it has in the past. Continuing to build settlements, denying aid, confiscating fertile land, applying curfews and restricting necessities like water are only a few of the acts committed by a nation that claims to do nothing wrong and only act in defense. This needs to be revisited by our American foreign policy.

In response to the fact that Palestinians can establish a homeland within other Middle Eastern countries, that is out of the question. They are in their homeland and should be able to stay where they are (and where they were before more settlements were built) and raise their families as has been done for generations.

If world war breaks out...and it eventually will...i pray i can be in the heart of Israel, because it has been promised to God's people, and is protected by him. I know there are those who will laugh and scorn those of us who base our beliefs on the Holy Word of God, but you look at recent history and you see the miraculous odds that Israel have overcome to even exist as a nation. Isn't it funny that every time they are attacked by one of the arab nations, that they end up with more territory than before. The land is their's. They have tried to share it and every time they are stabbed in the back. Hey let all the terriorist continue to bombard Israel, that's the quickest and surest way to rid this world of the cowardly scumbags.

I am ashamed to be an American, which is the first time I have felt this way in all of my 60 years. But to condemn Israel for defending themselves is not only stupid but non - sensical. And the previous comment from the gentleman that one day the Messiah that Israel has waited for, will return -is very true. Jesus-the Lanb- will return as a King of Kings and Lord of Lords-to decide the fate of the HAMAS. Jesus warned us of these times-when armies surround Jerusalem, He said, the end is drawing near. And He told us that men will cry peace, peace, but there will be no peace. Check out your Bible also, to determine who is the rightful owner of the land that Hamas is sitting on-the Israelites were given that land a long time ago by a much higher power than Hamas. God! You know Him-don't you? The one you claim doesn't exist anymore? You claim He's dead-and that His son never existed or isn't the rightful King of Heaven? When He returns you will find out that Hamas was wrong and that Doomsday is not just a myth.
