Get tough with Israel?!?!? Are you serious? Your opening paragraph proves you are completely out of touch. "The potential for a nuclear Iran, combined with the growing accuracy and lethality of Hamas and Hizbullah rockets, will create tremendous concern." Tremendous concern?!?!?!? WTF does that mean? You don't negotiate with terrorists and terrorist states for them to get rid their nukes and rockets, you wipe them out of existance so they can't use their nukes and rockets.

Maybe the thinking that Isreal has the right to defend itself has not worked. Have we ever thought of how far Isreal could defend itself?
If America has been a friend to Isreal, and has been tough on the Palestinian, and has the slogan "Isreal has the right to defend itself," has not worked for all these years, let's change the plan and slogan. Going forward, let's be tough on Isreal and say the Palestinians also have the right to defend themselves, which I think is also true.

I'm sorry...I'm going to add to my recent post. By the way, I am not Jewish either. What I'm trying to figure out--is the media and Newsweek insane, or just a group of idiots?!! God made promises to Israel long ago, and unlike human beings, God is faithful to make good on his promises. How do you think Israel survived the wars after they recieved their independence. They were outnumbered by the Arab militaries 8 to 1, surrounded on all sides by a much larger military Hell bent on obliteratijng them.....and what happened?

Israel has every right to do what they're doing ! They have as much right to defend and fight for themselves just as much as we do. When Japan hit us, we struck back twice as hard and yes innocent civilians were involoved. But If I remember correctly our point was made clear. And now this article is screaming that Obama needs to do something when we as a country have no room to speak or judge Israel's actions. Are you saying it's ok for America to do what they have to do to defend themselves but not anyone else? If it was our nation being attacked by a terrorist group like the hamas we surely we would not sit there and take it and turn the other cheek. Israel is not wrong in thier actions.

I love the fact that all of the news reports that I am reading are vilainizing the Israelis. It is too bad that innocent civilians are dying but, what about the countless number of innocent jews who have died over the past 20 years from the repeated missile attacks from hamas. Is Isreal just suppose to sit back and take it? Sometimes I wonder if the media isn't anti-semetic also. Maybe they should just crawl into bed with these terrorists. Wait, maybe they already have!

What a lot of crap! There is no compromise with terrorists. The land belongs to Israel, flat out. Anyone who fails to accept that or fights that, fights with God Himself. The United States of America would not be a nation at this time, and never would have been established without the financial support of many Jewish families. There is no "peace" with men of war, and bullies. We need to quit messing around and take swift and decisive action on behalf of Israel.

We support Israel's Right to Exist and we Support the Palestinians Right to Exist, but we have helped You for 60 Years...
3 Billion in Tax Payers Money, its time to Stop this flow of Billions, especially in these Tough Economic Times, here in America.
My Opinion, The 3 Billion per year sent to Israel should go to the Poor here in America.
Can you imagine the impact of 3 Billion Directed to the Poor Classes here in America...
If the Government Streamlined the funds correctly, to ensure an End to Generational Poverty here in America..
Within 20 years we'd have a Major Decrease in Poverty and a Major Increase in Middle Class America !!
The 3 Billion Dollars of Tax Payers money, should be spent on the Poor Classes in America.
Israel is a Virtually a [Welfare State, a Welfare Country], by receiving 3 Billion Dollars per year, from U.S. Taxpayers when they are supposedly Self Sufficient, Independent and Prosperous and standing supposedly on their own to feet !!
How about giving some of those Billions back to the Poor U.S. Tax Payers..Hmmm
Just think 60 Years of Dolling out Billions to Israel.....
Just Imagine a Small Population Receiving 3 Billion Dollars Per YEAR Times 60 YEARS !!!
Not to mention the Billions received by Countries around the World and Jewish Americans and around the World.

It has to STOP and other countries as well, America should streamline or cut off sending Millions to Billions of Dollars to those countries as well.
