If Obama Is Serious

The Palestinians have had their opportunity for peace and a nation, but their government keeps stealing all the money that was given to them by the US and EU to use for their own personal pleasures and to support terrorism.If anyone is to blame, it is the govt. the palestinians elected. instead of holding their own government responsible they choose to blame all their problems on Isreal. They could have easily turned their small swath of land into a wonderful place for their people to live and the borders with Isreal would have stayed open like they were before they started blowing themselves up in crowded jewish markets. they are getting what they asked for by supporting terrorist governments.

Who are we to say that Isreal can not defend herself. We would not be oh so happy if Mexico decided to start lobbing bombs on us and all Canada did is to tell us to give them Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Hamas do not want peace they want complete distruction of everyone not like themselves....including the USA.

Tough on Israel? How about we take a lesson from Israel and stop tip toeing around terrorism. Hamas is a terrorist organization that has broken every cease-fire agreement. They call for the destruction of Israel and cover up their true intentions by pretending to take up the Palestinian cause. If they really care about the Palestinians they would honor cease-fire agreements and stop using Palestinian homes, schools, and mosques as platforms for their attacks.

What Miller doesnt realise or admit to himself, is that whatever happens in Israel is just a microcosm of what will happen in the World. We talk a real balanced talk, but what about the rights of a sovereign state to defend it's borders and people. That would seem to be the #1 priority before any other discussion. How do you conduct peace negotiations with someone who denies your existance, or right to exist. There are some fundamental building blocks that are missing here, and by not acknowledging them we put ourselves at similar risks as Israel. Do you remember 9-11 and all the attacks in Europe - it's so easy to forget when you are busy piling on Israel...

The root issues are not political and although we would like to feel that applying our savvy political strategies would help, they do not, similar to treating symptoms instead of the medical condition.

I agree with Americanpatriot911. Israel has been forced to not only tolerate an enemy that has said openly they will not rest until all Jews are exterminated, but they are being asked to support that enemy by giving them land and tolerance. Sorry, if a guy comes to my door and says I want your cars and plasma tv, I dont negotiate the converter box, but not the DVD.

Isreal is a strong ali and we should be backing them in this war on terror that they have been fighting for many years, we should not even be considering stopping them from protecting their homeland.This is a war that will never end in a way to please everyone and I don't understand why we should even be considering helping the terrorist group Hamas against them. Hamas is not the Arab word as it should be and until the Arab Nations condem the actions of these terrorists there will never be peace.

I have never seen Israel make a concession with those people that didn't blow up in their face. What does "get tough with Israel mean?" Tough how? Tell the people to leave the area and go live somewhere else? Tell them to say thank you each time they're blown up.
