Amazingly accurate depiction of the myjts and realities by Aaron Miller. If only most Americans and Amercian offcials would heed to Aaron's advice. In the end, every country acts in its best interest; but America didn't when it came to defending Isarel's interest as perceived by the Isareli govts. I nevetr understood the dynamics of this unless of course the US has nuclear missiles siuated in Isarel or Israel has missiles targeted at the US.
It is because of America's insane and blinding support for and comalcenec with illegitimate Isareli govt actions that America has earned enemies all over the world, especially in the Muslim and Arab worlds. Is this irrational partisanship worht it, when America in fact finances and arms Israel. Shouldn't it be the other way, that is, Isareli govts should take orders from the US Admin? The main problem with Israel that it is not a Jewish state as it claim to be. Starting from the beginning of 20th century Israel was populated
by people who has very little, or nothing in common with local jews. No wonder why Israel is so confused about who is the "real" jew. Many newcomers were decent people,

I hope the Obama administration does not give unconditional support to Israel. I agree with the aritcle in the sense that there must be accountablity of Isare; actopms. Their latest actions ,have been over kill. While most agree they have a right to defend themselves, they do not have the right to kill inocent cilivians. I believe the over kill was more for political gain and to pit the new administaration on notice, they expect to be allowed to do what ever they wantto to do. The latest resolution from congress tthat gives them teh right to defend themselves, does not give them the right to slander people and the USA the rresove to agree with evrything they do.. Obams will have to be touch and fair. Israel is not always right.

I don't agree with the saying that Israel has the right to repel Hams, because of many reasons:
1- Hamas was elected legally by the people, and till now they accept it.
2- Israel was formed on the ruins of destroyed Palestinian land, which was and still getting stolen by force.
3- even if Israel want to repel Hamas for any reason, why did it kill thousand people mostly civilians and children.'
4- Palestine has the right to ask for protection from Israel, but the problem is that no one cares, America backs Israel in everything.

Pity poor Israel. They created Hamas, along with US help,to counter Fatah and now they have the python by the throat and can't let go. Their very fear is coming true with every bomb they drop. They have become the Nazis of today as they work to exterminate the people whose land they coveted. With every target assination they create create more young people who vow revenge, with every school or hospital they bomb, they show their true colors to the world.
The only way out is for Israel to withdraw to the 1967 borders, dismantel the illegal settlements that seize the best of the Palestinian land and appoligize for the past treatment.
When will Israel recognize the python can only tighten the coils? When will the rest of the world stop giving them a blank check, a pass to their own asured destruction? The US must stop letting AIPAC and Israel design our foreign policy. If the U.S. would stop vetoing every U.N. resolution, perhaps there might be a chance for peace.

Obama should make sure Iran doesn't have any nukes.
Iran's global Jihad will be global- not just regional.
Since the USA is the world's superpower, the Iranians would want to neutralize America and the easiest way to do that is to send a ship with ship with nukes to New York shores and blow up the atomic bomb.
They will use a proxy as they always do- and the proxy would be a terrorist organization as always. They will not take responsibility.
The chaos and economic instability that would ensue would gerentee that America would not be able to assist Europe and Africa that would be next.-

I think that America should change it's policy with Israel, We've seen America 'the most powerful country' protecting Israel in all it's actions which mostly are violent to human rights, up to now more than 900 people died in Gaza because of Israel's highly developed weapons which are brought from America.
In the past it was confusing who is right and who is wrong in the war in meddle east, but now it's obvious that Israel is aggressively violent.
