If Obama Is Serious

Some of you amaze me with your rhetoric and ignorance. The numbers of injured and dead Israelis versus the numbers of Palestinians who suffered the same fate. Did Hamas think that Israel would not defend herself when missiles were launched inside her borders? Hamas has repeatedly claimed that their ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel and her Jewish people. Hamas and Hizbullah do not desire peace with Israel, nor will they ever accept peace with her. Has the missiles not been fired into Israel, or had they at least stopped and a truce maintained, Israel would not have gone into Gaza.

Israel must be Demolish hamas

One does does not need to be an alert analyst to deduce that the bloodthirsty Israel is driving America to its doom. Using american presidents as instruments to wage wars to ensure a fanciful security, Israel is setting fire on the region. Since its creation in 1948 , its history is a succession of holocusts inflicted on the palestenian populations and of broken covenants and agreements. The world will be a better place without Israel. All indicators show that its end is approaching.

I think if President elect Obama does anything against Israel it will spell DOOM for the USA, we must protect Israel and stay sided with them or the USA will become a week nation and will be attacked. Read the Bible, God's chosen people are not to be messed with. The presidents before were smart, let's see Obama be the same.

Has anyone thought of 'buying' out Israeli settlers from occupied Palestinian lands? Expensive surely. But peace is worth any price.

Not difficult for Obama the Muslim to get tough with Israel... That is what he was born and taught to do... Suckers!!!!

I read today that a Hamas rocket landed in an Israeli kindergarden and exploded. Now, thankfully no children where there at the time and nobody was hurt. Let's pretend that 50 kids were there and 25 of them were killed. All of the sudden public opinion would change and the IDF would have more support. POINT - Simply becasue Hamas lacks the ability does not mean that Isreal is over-reacting or showing aggression. If Hamas had nuclear capabilites Tel Aviv would be gone in an instant, without a hesitation towards what pain that would bring back on Palestinians and all people of the world. Hamas clearly cares not at all for their own people. Their religous ferver actually promotes the death of their civilians because to die for Islam is for some reason a good thing to these people.

For as much experience as this author brings to the table, he seems dangerously naive when it comes to the Gaza situation. I have seen very credible reports from very credible sources that any and all supplies that are sent to the Hamas-controlled territory, and all of it meant for humanitarian purposes for the support of the so-called innocent inhabitants of Gaza, are hijacked for Hamas' needs, or even sold on the black market by Hamas in exchange for weapons and munitions.

I doubt that any current monitoring force, or any future one for that matter, could adequately determine where ANY humanitarian aid would end up. Any Gazan who wants to live would be forced to surrender any and all supplies to the Hamas-led government, or face the certain consequences.

I do agree that the settlement activity is troublesome and provocative, but Israel is tiny and in need of arable land that will sustain life. Is it any wonder that "settlers" will grab any land that they are allowed to access? This situation is the fault of the Israeli government, but settlement activity is generally non-violent. So how provocative can the settlers' actions really be? When, or if, a territorial agreement is finally reached for a Palestinian state, it is a relatively small matter for the Israeli government to clear the land. It has been done before, and it will probably be done again. Consequently, this is almost a non-issue. The author should move on to more pressing matters...

No, there are no new ideas here, and until all of the Palestinian leaders finally reject the idea of a world without an Israeli state, and renounce for good and all the attending violence that accompanies Hamas' current mindset, then and only then will there be any sort of peace in the Middle East.

LONDON (Reuters) - Thousands of chanting, banner-waving demonstrators marched in cities across Europe on Saturday to demand a halt to Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip.

Protests were held in Britain, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey as the Israeli offensive entered its second week, and before Israel confirmed ground forces had entered Gaza.

Israeli Arabs held a protest march, Kuwaitis also took to the streets, a day after bigger Middle East rallies, and peaceful pro- and anti-Israel protests were held in New York.

In Paris, police said more than 21,000 demonstrators, many wearing Palestinian keffiyeh headscarves, marched through the city center chanting slogans such as "Israel murderer!" and waving banners demanding an end to the air attacks.

Groups of protesters clashed with police. At least three cars were set alight and about 20 overturned by demonstrators as the march ended near some of the biggest department stores in the French capital.

In London, police said more than 10,000 people staged a march and rally to urge an end to the Israeli offensive against Hamas militants that has killed at least 446 Palestinians.

Similar protests were planned in some 30 other towns.

In many cities people waved shoes -- recalling the action of an Iraqi journalist who hurled footwear at U.S. President George W. Bush in Baghdad last month in a symbolic insult.

British demonstrators threw dozens of shoes into the street as they passed the gated entrance to Downing Street, where Prime Minister Gordon Brown lives, and shouted angrily at a line of 40 police officers on guard there.

"Come to get your shoes Gordon," one woman shouted as other marchers directed chants of "Shame on you" at Brown.

A spokesman said Brown had spoken again to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Saturday and was pressing hard for an immediate ceasefire.

Leading the march were singer Annie Lennox, politicians Tony Benn and George Galloway and comic Alexei Sayle.

Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and placards with slogans such as "End the siege on Gaza" and "Stop the massacre."

Israel says rocket attacks from Gaza by Hamas Islamists must stop before it halts operations, but the attacks continued on Saturday. Four Israelis have been killed by Hamas rockets since the offensive began.

I am tired of hearing about Israel. I am tired of hearing about the Palestinians. I am tired of these fights over religion. I long for a world where there are no Christians and no Muslims, just people. Oh we will find something else to kill each other over, but my point is I am tired of this argument and game, its old. Next please.
