It is time for the US to take a second look at this so-called "special relationship." The Jews have been taking advantage of the Palestinians ever since it was "created." They have stolen land, established illegal settlements, humiliated the Palestinians by requiring them to stand in the sweltering sun and/or freezing rain for hours on end just to get to work. It has built and Apartheid Wall, blockaded the sea ways and they have done everything possible to make life miserable for the Palestinians. These money-grubbing kikes have one ultimate purpose: to steal all the land of the Palestinians. Nothing else will satisfy their insatiable greed. Israel is a mistake that will continue to perpetuate itself until it is finally blown off the face of the earth. It has to be kept in mind that the only reason Israel was established in the first place is that no civilised nation on the face of the earth wanted these people within their own borders. One occasionally wistfully muses on how peaceful the world would be without this Jew-infested so-called nation.

Any of you who wonder why Israel needs nuclear weapons just read the racist rant from bajan at 8:30 01/03/2009.

Sadly we all share DNA with this oligophrenic psychotic.

Hamas is cut from the same cloth as this freak.

By the way Newsweek your abuse system does not work; apparently your lawyers do not mind posters using the words deployed in that post; they are libel defamation and designed to cause offense.

bajan you must be one seriously miserable person: That provides some satisfaction.

Think how nice the world would be without hateful, vicious people like you. Israel is a nation of peace that has been forced to defend itself, again and again and again. Take the blinders off your eyes banana man.

As much as I have supported Israel, I am detested by the violence Israel is wreaking on Gaza last week, now, and next week (and sometimes in the past). America has for 60 years made sure Israel is the mightiest military power in their region, so they ought to BEHAVE like it and not like cruel bullies.
When you have nuclear weapons... weapons which you stole from America, which continues to give you a trillion dollars a year six decades later IF you believe the American government, which for at least the past eight years nobody does.
Anyway, when you have nuclear weapons, and nobody in your region does, or will (despite what you say) then you OUGHT to restrain yourself from using tanks and fighter jets to shoot bombs into a town of 8 million the size of Peoria, only to claim you are making "TARGETED STRIKES".
Maybe somebody should give that some thought before bombing babies and women. It's very upsetting to the people who pay for the bombs, missiles, tanks and jets.

I think ThGardener has a point, something that occurred to me as well. In 1946 the population of Palestine wasabout 1.5 million, Christians Jews, Arabs and others, of which there ware not more than 500,000 Arabs, now Arabs claim 3.2, or so million "Palestinian refugees". Clearly they have been cooking th books to make Israel look bad. Add to that launcing rockets from schools and hospitals so that when Israel targets the launch site, Hamas can try to make 'brownie points', and their constant howling over the slightest incident has kept the media focused on them and not on the real issue, that, though a cease fire was supposed to be in effect, there have been daily rocket attacks on Israel for the past year and a half. Only now has there been coverage of the rocket attacks, with photos of rocket contrails over Israel, where were such photos last year or six months ago ...? People like myself who stay informed, don't get suckered into Arab propaganda. What Miller's article indicates, is that he, and others who buy into it, do not keep up with the right sources and/or are anti Israel, anyway. One thing you should all know is that in Jewish or Israeli circles in the US and Israel, there is hardly an... correction, I have never heard an anti-Arab word.- it is such a world wide problem, but among Jews and Israelis it is not discussed, because they are not bigoted or prejudiced. But you continue daily firing of rockets for a year and a half in violation of the truce, with the end of the truce, Israel has the right to protect itself, if you don't like it, go join Hamas so you can be killed too.

People here think Hamas is some organization, let me refresh their politics...Hamas is as legit a government body as Israeli Ehud Barak government only actually less corrupt then Israeli government. Think of Hamas like conservatives in America with their far right radical views. There is probably no difference in policies between Hamas and NeoCons in America.

    • Posted By: Berserker @ 01/04/2009 12:28:46 AM

First, there is no government that is not corrupt. Secondly, I missed the part where neocons were killing people with terrorist acts. Thirdly, your hatred is so transparent that it occludes any logic in your post. Finally, pointing fingers at others transgressions does not make any wrongdoing less wrong, and it certainly is not a defense of it.

obama will sell out Israel just as he stated in his book "If the winds of war changes, i will stand with my muslum brothers just as my father did" and i still wonder who voted a terrorest group into power in gaza a few years back? was it not Palestinians who cast the votes to put the terrorests in control ? but then again i am still trying to figure out who voted for obama

  • Posted By: jakeher7 @ 01/03/2009 9:19:39 PM

Almost every faqir minded Israeli and American who is trully engaged with the history of the struggle between Israel and PLO/Palestinians have recognized that Hammas and other radical groups are not dealing fairly or with intent for peaceful objectives. Indeed, even the Oslo accords negotiated by former President Clinton was a disaster for Israel. A government that pretends to make Israel the PR problem and then indescriminately bombs Israeli civilian centers can only be stopped with force and possibly extreme measures. The current Israeli government doesn't have the backbone to address this -- a reason why they will not be governing after the next elections. The US can not strong arm Israel without compromising its security.

    • Posted By: bajan man @ 01/04/2009 12:22:05 AM

YOu idiot, Hamas is a freely elected government, not a "group.

  • Posted By: vvurdsmyth @ 01/03/2009 9:04:41 PM

jajan man & Mr Miller, the 1947 UN Resolution 181 mandated a Jewish state and and Arab state. Jews had no problem with that and promptly established a democracy - the Arabs promptly attacked from all sides - what does that tell you about the mentality of the parties involved? Israel forcibly pulled all of the settlers out of Gaza in 2005 and Hamas began shelling Israel with rockets and mortars - what does that tell you about the parties involved? to use your own words, bajan man, One occasionally wistfully muses on how peaceful the world would be without this slime-infested world.

    • Posted By: bajan man @ 01/04/2009 12:21:05 AM

If you want to go to the UN Resolutions, I suggest you take a look at UN Resolution 242. The Israelis are always crying about the Palestinians not abiding by UN Resolutions, forgetting all the while the numerous resolutions they have refused to abide by. I fervently hope that Hizbollah joins with the Hamas to defeat the murderous jews, not just defeat them, but completely destroy them. They are truly the scourge of the earth.

I see The United States of America becomming a puppet regime for Tehran under this guy you call obama his book states "if the winds of war changes, I will stand with my muslum brothers as my father did" so now rad all about how The United States will sell out Israel and the poor Palestinians start a fight with junk weapons that kill innocent Jews and when the Jews fight back with top of the line American Know How thety are killing thepoor Palestinians and these poor people live in fear ......Oh wait a minute who voted in a terrorest group called Hamas in the first place mmmm was it not those poor Palestinians

  • Posted By: TheGardener @ 01/04/2009 12:04:54 AM

Ray in the 1930s the World was doing exactly the same with Hitler. Pacify him and he will be happy. Seems History repeats itself and we are not even 60 years later. Sad really.

    One more Item:

8000 Israelis left Gaza after having build it into a flourishing area. The Muslims told the Israelis that the Land of Gaza was cursed. Nothing grows in Gaza they said. The Israelis entered and made it into a blooming, flourishing center. Jealous of the accomplishments the trouble with Muslims began that was put to an end by Ariel Sharon who ordered the Israelis to move out of Gaza.

Gaza was hand over to the 'Palestinians" totally free.
What has Hamas done with the Finanicial Contributions of the EU and the USA since 2005? Certainly it was not used for Nation Building.

Hamas asked for it. Israel is giving it.

Some folks truly need to get their info updated instead of producing dumb stupid Islamic propaganda rubbish.

  • Posted By: TheGardener @ 01/03/2009 11:52:42 PM

@tonypate...spoken like a true Ignoramus. You have no clue what is really going on do you?

Your First Item on the list of your homework is Google Hamas Covenant.
Your Second Item: READ DA HAMAS COVENANT. Slowly and carefully.
Your Third Item: Re-Read the Hamas Covenant and everywhere you see the word Israel replace it with the names of all countries that do not have an Islamic government.

Then you may begin to have an idea what on earth is really going on.

Before 1967 There wasn't any 'Palestinian" problem. The Palestinian problem was created because Israel was placed on the Map. The Palestinian problem is an artificial problem: Arafat, an Egyptian National, related to Hajj Amin Al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem arrived in Iraq in 1939 and was among the leader of the pro Nazi revolt in May 1941. He produced an Islamic Army he sent to the Balkans to commit genocide on the local population. Israel disappears and the 'Palestinian' Problem just moves to another area.

What happens in Israel is awaiting all countries who do not submit to Islamic Culture. Israel has made it very clear to want to be its own, having its own culture. THIS has triggered "Palestinian" rebel gangs from all over the Islamic world. There were 600 000 Islamic Palestinians in 1967. Today we see 3.2 million. Muslim women do not reproduce this fast that can account for 3.2 million. There is no Israeli Genocide, there is only Islamic growing gangs with origins in all Islamic Countries where Poverty, Illiteracy and Unemployment dominates daily life.

Do update your knowledge instead of posting rubbish.

People in normal circles have been discussing for months how the perception of a pacifist American administration would actually lead to more violence.

Iran would feel free from the threat of a hawkish American president and thus be more aggressive in the deployment of their proxies i.e. Hamas, et al. Israel seeing all of the same signs would likewise react, their own politics moving to the Right to offset the Leftist stance of the American president.

And now the media is moving to provide the "narrative" of a "tough" President Obama.

    Tough, pacifist, whatever. . .

  • Posted By: Calfed @ 01/03/2009 11:31:00 PM

"There is probably no difference in policies between Hamas and NeoCons in America. "

There are only two possible explanations for such a statement--deep, deep dementia or deliberate prevarication. I'm betting on the former

  • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 01/03/2009 4:23:54 PM

We just want to live in peace with the Palestinians. We don't hate Arabs. Let's get real here. Israelis think Arabs are an inferior race and Arabs think Isrealis should be exterminated. Israelis want to expand into areas they don't own and Arabs want to push israel into the sea.

Obama doesn't need to get tough with Israel, he needs to treat Arabs and Israels the same with the same support and encouragement. I'm laughing at myself as I type this, knowing that this will never be the case. We will always be on the terrorist's hit list because of the huge, one-sided, support of Israel.

    • Posted By: blisterpeanuts @ 01/03/2009 11:12:52 PM

Absolutely, what a great idea, let's just treat Israel--a democracy--equally with thug regimes like Hamas. Simple, simple. No thought required.

Lest you forget, Israel is the only place in the Middle East that allows freedom of religion. Try starting a church in Egypt--a major recipient of U.S. foreign aid--or Saudi Arabia, a country that arrests Christian evangelists for "spreading poison"--or Afghanistan, a regime that executes those who convert away from Islam.

Israel is also the only country in the Middle East--and one of the few in the world--capable of building weapons equal to or better than those made by the U.S. If we dump Israel into the Mediterranean, they are likely to start selling their own weaponry on the open market, and they will become a major competitor to the U.S. in aerospace. Their avionics are superior to ours, and the U.S. stopped them from building their own fighter jet a while back out of fear it would be too advanced.

Then there's that little detail of being a consistent friend and ally. If the U.S. dumps Israel, whom else might it dump? Taiwan would definitely be next, along with S. Korea and most of Europe. Why stick your neck out for your friends when you can just be selfish and do everything for your own benefit only? Sounds like the perfect "Me Generation" foreign policy, for the most narcissistic and self-centered generation in history.

The world is simply too complex for such morally neutral stances as yours to succeed. We already make a lot of mistakes in the other direction, endangering our friends through reckless policies and decisions. We need to be consistent, firm, principled, and reliable, not fly-by-night. I stay loyal to my friends.

  • Posted By: Bushfatigue @ 01/03/2009 9:40:12 PM

A breath of fresh air. I'm sure Miller will be crucified by the neo-cons and their media enablers for finally speaking the truth, but it must be done, both for our sakes here in the US as well as Israel's. The status quo cannot be maintained. If Israel won't listen to us, then I say lets stop borrowing $3 Billion a year from the Chinese to give to Israel, with absolutely not accountability whatsoever.

    • Posted By: blisterpeanuts @ 01/03/2009 10:59:14 PM

Great idea. Then Israel can proceed to develop its own fighter jets and advanced weaponry that it can sell on the open market, competing directly against American aerospace workers instead of giving them employment. I actually think Israel should stop accepting foreign aid, so that it can chart its own course instead of doing what Condoleeza Rice thinks it should do, which is usually disastrously wrong.
      .
And then the only beneficiaries of U.S. aid will be places like Egypt, Gaza, Iraq, North Korea, and a few spots in Africa. We can just let the only democracy and our only true friend in the Middle East fend for itself.
      .
With friends like you, who needs enemies?

  • Posted By: jimbo3800 @ 01/03/2009 9:57:14 PM

Give me a break, Mr. Miller, because you cannot be serious. There will be no peace in the Middle East until there is a clear cut military victory, and Hamas is totally defeated.

  • Posted By: different opinions @ 01/03/2009 9:51:37 PM

Good analysis on what should be done !
As I remember the first Jews who fought English rulers in Palestine in the before next to become Israeli State were yet not Israelis... and they were considered as terrorists...
I strongly disagree with what is doing Hamas, but what is doing Israel, generally speaking, can be call a genocide.
Who are the new Nazis ? Israel governement...
Killing "only" 500 palestians (at the time I write that), mostly children, woman or civils, against the 4 or 5 deads on the Israeli side means they have no common sense of behaviour, or better they know so well that they almost won't have any political disagreement,
that they are on the same level with China/US/Russia making wars just for they own profit !
All the rest is just excuses !
Years ago I really agree to defendIsrael positions, but also since then Israel behaves like a mad territory dog, so it becomes almost impossible for me to support it anymore...
    I am for Peace !
That means taking all the positions in count, as mentionned in this article !

    Mr. Miller
I think you have it backwards. America should get tougher on the Arabs. Afterall, they have been the truce breakers every time, not the Israelis. How would America like it if Russia came into Alaska and wanted it back, since it had once belonged to them before we "bought it" (what a deal). We wouldn't just let them have it. And what would happen if Russia started to bomb (daily) the mainland USA and wanted more of our lands. This scenario wouldn't fly at all with us, so why should it fly with Israel?? Let's be a little more fair to the land of Israel and what they have put up with for many years---the daily threat of bombs--from Hamas in the Gaza. JL

  • Posted By: jllee @ 01/03/2009 9:30:51 PM

    Mr. Miller:
I believe you have it backwards. America needs to get tougher with the Arabs first and foremost. Then when we see the Arabs keeping their honest peace agreements, then and only then is it time to ask the Israelis for any more committments. After all, if Russia demands that America return Alaska to them because it once belonged to them before we "bought it" (what a deal) could Americans do that? I don't think so. So let's get real and practical with Israel. They have had to give up land that was won by them and in the effort of peace, but still peace hasn't come to their lands. Israel put up with bombs from Gaza for what-several years-and now returns fire. America would have returned fire a lot sooner than they have. We can't condemn them without putting ourselves in their shoes. Other wise, let's shut up. Thank you for reading my point of view. J. Lee
