What will it take for Israel and their supporters of "Ethnic Cleansing of the Palestinian people" war crimes, genocide, Massacre to understand that labelling decent people of conscience who deplore their Barbaric behavior as Jew haters ot anti-Semetic does not work anymore.. They have milked it for all iits worth.. We now see the light,. The nation of Israel is a Terrorsit nation aided and abetted by America terrorinzing the people of Palestine for the past 60 years.. They have just confirmed it to the world.

I THINK ITS NOT ACTUALLY FORCING PEACE ON THE INVOLVED PARTIES. RATHER IT IS FRIENDLY INTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION. THE WORLD IS NOW A GLOBAL VILLAGE AND WE CAN NOT JUST SIT AND WATCH WHEN PEACE IS BEING THREATENED. WHAT AFFECTS ISRAEL AND PALESTINE AFFECTS ALL OF US..WE ARE ONE HUMANKIND. HOWEVER I ENCOURAGE AMERICA NOT TO TAKE SIDES WHENEVER IT IS BROCKERING PEACE. THATS THE ONLY WAY IN WHICH AMERICA AND INDEED OBAMA'S ACTIONS MAY BE TAKEN AS CREDIBLE.

Many Americans do not know that while she is an ally of the USA, she can easily make friends with Russia , and India, and China too. America is a great country, but America leads the world , she does not rule the world. That's why I liked president Bush. He understood, that only the Israelis and the Palestinians can make peace or not. It can't be forced on the parties. America can't force it.

Include my mother who had to come with her mother on donkeys from Yemen after the Muslim revolution kicked them off of their land which they lived on for 2000 years since the first temple was destroyed. Miller's advocating of redifining the roles of the participants in this tragicly drawn out political mire is a worthy one. It will certainly take original thought to further the peace process in the middle east.
That being said, in regards to American foreign policy, Miller's comments seem to have a major flaw: America should only seek to ally itself with those nations who wish such an alliance in return.
Isreal is one such an example of a nation who shares our modern ideals of freedom and democracy.
Palestinian Arabs in Gaza, on the other hand, as their behaviors continually suggest, do not maintain such a perspective: videos of them gleefully burning American flags, or firing missiles into Isreal with the specific intent of killing Jewish children (Isreal's targets are always strategic in nature, though there is unfortunate collateral damage as in any conflict) are examples of why America cannot seek an alliance with these individuals.
In order for this conflict to be resolved, there must be a major shift - not potical - but moral in nature: the palestinian arabs must face a period of intense introspection where they redefine their attitudes towards life and the world.
If Miller's concept is going to make any sense, the Arabs in the region will need to change their behaviors drastically, ceasing to fire missiles with the purpose of killing children is a great starting point.

Therefore, in order for Miller's ideas to make sense to American national interest, the Arabs in the region will have to redefine their perspectives, this is going to be a crises of morality on their part, an introspection that goes beyond land squabbles, or "right" or "wrong," in any simple sense of the words.
Ceasing to shoot missiles with the express intent of killing children would go a long way towards accomplishing these goals.

I am so disgusted with the way American politicians and media are so timid to ever say anything critical of Israel, no matter how heinously it behaves. Thank you, Mr. Miller, for writing a fair commentary.

Let's avoid the concept of being fair. Let's seek the truth. Israel has killed three militants for each civilian death. The Israelis have the firepower to kill half of Gaza. They obviously choose not to. How about Hamas? They have enough tunnels dug through the border with Egypt that they could have smuggled whatever they chose to bring in. So what do they bring in? Missiles to aim crudely at Israeli civilians. If the Israeli blockade was so severe, how did Hamas acquire 10,000 missiles. All Hamas had to do was stop shooting missiles and put an end to their call for Israel's destruction and the blockade would have been lifted. Incidentally, for the uninformed out there, Egypt also enforced the blockade for fear of arming an Al Qaeda-like regime.

If you really want to understand Hamas, check out "hamas mickey mouse" on you tube. Ask yourself if the Israelis have a chance of making peace with these racists. Their goal is to kill the Jews, pure and simple. Their secondary goal is to fire missiles at Israeli tanks from areas near schools. Why? So when the Israelis retaliate, children will be placed in harms way and we'll all see it on the news. They don't care about their own kids. Their goal is abject poverty for their people so that religious extremist fervor remains popular, along with a healthy hatred of infidels.

Our goal should be to prevent the rewarding of terrorists anywhere, no matter how just their cause. It's Israel now--it might be France in 50 years.

Let me see, when Israel was created the Arabs attacked. They held their own by themselves against those who would see them wiped off the earth as Hitler had just tried doing. Then there was the 6 day war. The Arab nations stood around, beat their chests and attacked. The Israelis drove them back to the present boundaries and not one step more. But they did claim the Gaza Strip as being under their control. Then we had the 6 hour war and the fight that they have had ever since being a nation just to survive.

The palestinians should have been assimilated into the neighboring countries over the last 60 years or so. But the Arab nations have kept them hostage as a reason for them to attack Israel. They were not allowed to immigrate into the other countries but forced to stay there. It is a crime against the Palestinians by the other Arab nations. So what else is new

Whoa there, umustbelieveit, what do you mean Jews WERE the chosen people? Do you think they are 'unchosen' now since they missed their Messiah when He first came, and we Gentile peoples got a chance to accept Him as Who He is and follow Him? Do you think it was because of our 'goodness' that we got that Awesome opportunity? They are no more 'unchosen' than you can unchoose to be your own child's biological parent. The entire world gets to see God working with Israel through their times of rebellion and their times of believing and following, throughout history till Messiah returns. Remember, the entire world is going to be blessed through the Jews, if only that the Messiah comes through the Abrahamic line through Isaac. We Gentiles are wild by nature--we have NOTHING to brag about, other than that Jesus Christ graciously offered us His salvation by believer's faith and following His Word. They still are the Chosen People and a wise nation would not touch a hair on their heads, or carve off a bit of their land to give away to their enemies. I wish the UN and especially the U.S. since I LIVE HERE and don???t like what has befallen our nation since our leaders pressured them to give away the Gaza. Almighty God offers to provide those arrogant nations their consequences HIMSELF. Recently the Israeli forces bombed three UN schools where civilians who fled their homes were seeking shelter. First israeli army attacked their houses with F16 and Apache helicopter that our government had provided them. They claimed that Hamas fighters were hiding there. The UNRWA ( a neutral party) denied their claim. Do you know who died there, it was 40 children and women. The death toll in Gaza is more than 700, half of them are children and women, Go and search the net and look for the pictures of babies killed by the occupying army you are trying to defend. Today, Shalomet Alany an Israeli politician admitted that the Israeli cabinet gave the army the okay to kill civilians. Why would you be surprised that the Israeli army does not hit pregnant women or shoot on civilians. Who is in the wrong place, the Palestinian who were born in Gaza or the Jewish occupiers and armed forces who are throwing 1000 lb bombs on civilians, targeting worship places, hospitals, clinics, ambulances, universities, schools, residential houses and innocent children and women. I would not feel surprised if they hit a pregnant woman as they killed pregnant women, infants and disabled people before. Also, Don't forget the cruel siege on Gaza preventing medical supplies, food, infant formulas. The excuse that they always say and puppies repeat after them is always the same, these people are in the wrong place or the wrong time, or Hamas is using these people as shields. Please go and read the history of Israel massacres from deir yaseen to qana and now Gaza. So please don???t try to cover the truth by twisting the facts, what were the 700 innocent people who died so far doing, were they attacking Israeli soldiers, ???perhaps?????. No they were not. They were at their homes, schools or jobs. I don???t know where did you come with the idea that Hamas was preventing people from fleeing their houses as everybody knows that there is a siege on Gaza, no body can leave, and Israel allowed only people with western citizenships to leave before their cruel attacks.
