Remains of the Day

Cremate all remaining unidentified remains and spread them over the ocean, regardless as to whose remains they may be. As someone pointed out, leave it to God to sort out the rest.

It is ridiculous to continue trying to identify pieces after seven years. There are unidentified bodies around the country that these resources should be expended on. I think a solid effort has been made and that should be the end of it. I think some of the comments to the families have been a bit crass but it is not unreasonable to tell them enough is enough.

In death, all are equal; let God sort them out. I am becoming tired of the families of some of these victims trying to stretch out their 15 minutes of fame. The need to stop demanding the impossible. Enought already!

beguiled, you are a sad twisted human being.. Go on believing the lies that are spread by middle eastern governments and Muslim extremist groups. Of course we aren't supposed to believe our own eyes. It was all a put on by the Bush administration and the Saudi government to control the oil. GET REAL, it really did happen. Muslims killed Americans on American soil. It wasn't the government, it wasn't saddam, it wasn't organized religion, it was a group of sick, selfish individuals who lacked any moral fiber or religious center. The world is a better place without them. As for their remains, cremation seems the best end, burn them!

Is there anyway that the remains of the cowards, not terrorist - cowards, could be combined with the remains of dead pigs? All future cowardice kills should be buried with dead swine.

Anyway we could have the terrorist remains mixed with the flesh of dead pigs? I think that any terrorist killed, on our soil or elsewhere, should be buried with the remains of swine.

I agree with the comments from a victim's mother. If a family member wants the remains, let them have them. Why punish the family for the sins of the guility? My God is a loving and forgiving God. He will punish those that have done wrong in life, and cast them in to the lake of fire.

I agree with the mother of one of the victim's. All are entitled to a proper burial by family, if that is what is wanted. Why punish the loved ones for the crimes of the guilty?

The remains of these sub-humans should be fed to the PIGS and this should be televised for the world to see.

This comment is not about the article per se, but about it's title, Remains of the Day. What are we supposed to make of that? Yes, it's about human remains. Yes, I know it was also the title of a popular book and movie. What is the connection? There is none. It's just a lazy convention that news organizations use reflexively - find a pop culture reference that you can pin on an article for no reason except as a sly inside joke. Was that really appropriate here? My wish for Newsweek in the coming year would be to take the cure - this sort of thing has gotten very, very old.
