Come on guys, you are making fun :)
In Israel people in Knesset are represented according to the quantity of voters. Dot.

    What about IRAN?:(
"By law and practice, religious minorities are not allowed to be elected to a representative body or to hold senior government or military positions, with the exception THAT 5 OF A TOTAL 270 seats in the majlis are reserved for religious minorities. Three of these seats are reserved for members of the Christian faith, including two seats for the country's Armenian Christians, and one for Assyrians and Chaldeans"

What sum out of oil billions Iranian government invest in jewish kids?

QUIZ - WHAT SUM IRANIAN GOVERNMENT INVEST INTO NUKE DEVELOPMENT?

BEING IN PEACE WITH ISRAEL IS SIMPLE - DON'T ATTACK US. THAT'S ALL
    ALL SIDES KNOW IT.
ISRAEL PULLED FROM GAZA THREE YEARS AGO.
SINCE THEN OVER 8000 MISSILES WERE THROWN ON ISRAELI CITIES.
HUNDREDS OF ISRAELIS WERE KILLED AND THOUSANDS INJURED.
NOBODY IN THE WORLD WILL TOLERATE IT. AND WE WILL NOT EITHER

We have all seens the result of IAF action and the devastation cause in Gaza. I am sure everyone in Israel wants to live in peace. War and viollence have never brought in good result. Had it not been so peace loving people from all over would not have paraded in big number chanting "NO WAR" slogans. There must be vast majority of voters who too want peace. Politicians have to follow what the population wants. Those are bygone days when politicians led the voters. We wait to see the result of the upcoming Israeli election.

Are jews going to be given a right of return to the arab nations they had to flee and full return of confiscated property? What about their land and possessions taken from them in Medina and khybar by Mohammed for that matter.

In "Tora", it is clearly written that Jews will live under other Countries's Government rule. They will not have an independent country on the face of this earth. That's what what their "Holy Book" says. Then why they came hare all the way down from Europe to grab the land , with the help of powerfull countries, and kill local innocent people. You need a deep study of Jewish religion.

The Torah is only the first five books of the Old Testament. Also, what it says in English is not the same as what it says in Hebrew. For example: Christians always say "Thou shall not kill", but in Hebrew what is written is "thou shall not murder". If you would give that name of the book, the chapter and the line where you think it says: "Jews will always live under a foreign government" then people might take your comments more seriously.

In Old "Tora," it is clearly written that Jews will live under other countries government's rules. They will not have an independent countries on the face of earth to rule on their own. They should go back to Europe where they used to live. They came here with the help of powerful countries, USA, UK and France etc, to grab the land and kill local innocent people. You need a deep study of Jewish religion.

Where did you study Tora? In Saudi Arabia?

The Israeli attack is not a 'reprisal'. They broke the ceasefire in November by killing several Palestinains in an attack on Gaza.
Their actions of turning Gaza into a Warsaw Ghetto are totally indefensible by anyone but Israelis and Americans.
Hamas is entirely justified in attacking any Israeli target while the Israelis continue to behave in this way.

    • Posted By: SinCityScott @ 01/18/2009 1:13:20 AM

Once again the "Warsaw Ghetto" comment shows your racist, antisemitic hand.

Oh how bored I've become with these "Israel is the problem" emails. And, comparing the tiny Democracy of Israel that's surrounded by many much larger Dictatorship type enemy countries to the U.S. is maniacal. Especially in light of the fact that you're equating the Bush regime and it's actions with "America".
Zionism doesn't motivate Israelis to fire on Hamas terrorists in Gaza- thousands of fired missiles blowing up in Israeli residential areas is motivation enough. And yes, you're right- some of these areas in Israel are populated by mostly Arab-Israelis that would rather live there than any Arab state...can you blame them.
Israel is a peaceful, Democracy attempting to root out an elected Palestinian, terrorist regime and for whatever bleeding-heart, misguided reason people attempt to lay the blame on the defenders of freedom and side with and seem empathetic with the terrorists that fire thousands of bombs for months on end without provocation?!
So, now Israel has acted to end this daily, insufferable bombing- not to mention the suicide bombings and the fact that it's all funded and facilitated by Iran.
If you're ideas weren't so juvenile and so Pollyanna and so terribly misguided I might take them to heart and discuss them on their merits; but you have none.
If Mexico were a terrorist run country and they were lobbing deadly missiles at Rhode Island daily for weeks on end who'd decry RI from one day fighting back? Analogy may be futile due to the history and complexity of this issue but I can tell you as any American who's been to the Middle East and Israel- you have no idea how crazy you Hamas supporters are and how truly righteous is the need to excising in total their terrorist neighbors, before it's too late.

How is it that the Israeli Jews with a history of getting slaughtered in Germany's concentration camps, during WW II, have never shaken off these fears that dictated the formation of their Zionist state and its political structure? It has led to so many wars and battles with its Arab neighbors, ever since. The Israelis are their own problem; the Israeli Arabs, the PLO, Hezbollah, Hamas and whoever comes next are merely symptoms and a convenient distraction from the truth. That???s why this decades-old problem has never been resolved because the Israelis, like, Americans are unable to get honest. The Jews and the Christians always want someone else to change before they will be happy, it???s never about them accepting reality as it is. Thus, this region only knows chaos and not peace. Under these conditions, it never will.

The American problem isn???t much different we blame al-Qaeda and global terrorism for our problems and look at our reaction overseas at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the two wars we initiated in, both, Iraq and Afghanistan. We have insulated ourselves from reality, from the world while putting up many barriers, walls at our airports, at our seaports, on the Mexican border, at our government offices, at the Super Bowl, at the upcoming Inauguration. Our political officials are convinced that terrorism that struck and killed some 4,000 out of 300 million Americans on 9/11 is the real threat not a dishonest society lacking in moral character and leadership that???s corrupting the world and causing the justified Islamic anger and backlash.

We are constructing our own ???Great Wall??? to keep us save from the Mongolians while our ship is quickly sinking out at sea.

Daniel Gavron remains a cockeyed optomist. No doubt Israeli Arabs have had the shorter end of the stick in government spending. and there have been examples of discrimination . But among other things, they have full legal rights, serve in parliament, and boast the highest standard of living of all Arabs living in the Middle East.. The problem is their general refusal to accept their minority status in a Jewish state and to increasingly demand cultural and even political autonomy for themselves. EG: they are excused from military service, but for the most part even refuse to volunteer for national social service in their own communities. Tragically, Israel's Arab citizens have chosen to be part of the problem, not .a key to its solution. Richard Z. Chesnoff, New York

Israels arabs are the answer........to Hamas. After this war hamas will need some new recruits and where better than those already inside israel itself.

  • Posted By: anlund@gmail.com @ 01/09/2009 7:35:51 AM

The two-state proposition is clearly not a viable option for the Mideast anymore. The solution should be a one-state one: that is, a secular, democratic state for jews, muslims, christians, atheists, agnostics alike. The territory would be "Greater Israel" as it exists today including the occupied territories. The idea of an ethnically "clean" state is a leftover from 19th century politics.

Israel can not exterminate Hamas but could possibly weaken it physically, psychologically and damage its' ability to challenge Israel's de facto total mastery of Gaza's air space in the absence any air defence from Hamas, and control life and death of the Gazians. It is behaving like a Satan of death and destruction. Zionist Israel has become a messiah of gloom and doom, death and destruction and exterminators of the abjectly poor Palestinians. It has become far too arrogant, malevolent and stubborn in showing two fingers to world opinion. It is taking every opportunity to corner Hamas from all directions but as it has no where to run and escape unlike in 1982 Israel incursion into Lebanon, the PLO had to withdraw to the safety of Tunisia. Hamas has now where to go but to do or die facing the eight most powerful nuclear power in the world. They have no chance of survival unless the world conscience shouts at its loudest and say it boldly that Israel is hell bent to exterminate Palestinian people because they want liberty, freedom and desire to live as human beings from the illegal brutal occupation of blood thirsty and blood shedding Israel. And that is the root of the problem. So far Israel has failed to achieve total destruction of Hamas' infrastructure and its ability to exercise civil authority, which was is the object of Israel's planned open warfare against Hamas and invasion of stone throwing and firing useless rockets. No occupying force has for long oppressed, suppressed and crushed aspiration of the oppressed and history proves it. Perhaps Zionist Israeli politicians are poor student of history and never read that the French won the two battles of Algiers killing millions of the Front de liberation national but lost the war. Israel has not for the last forty years defeated Palestinian people despite killing over one million innocent men, women and children, expelling another million from their homes, farms and land and almost regularly destroying their little strip they live in to rubble. Israel can an not and will never defeat or crush Hamas because for every Hamas member it kills, ten more will be born and take up arms against their brutal oppressor; and there will never be a shortage of Palestinians to sacrifice their lives for their mother land. Israel can not kill every Palestinians to be victorious but only solution that it dare not take: bomb the bloody place flat so that nothing lives or grows on that land as long as the Zionist state exits.

"Israel can an not and will never defeat or crush Hamas because for every Hamas member it kills, ten more will be born" - exactly like rats. People still manage to control them.

Making Israeli Arabs a coalition partner would be a half-hearted half-step in the right direction. In fact, all Palestinian refugees aka victims of ethnic cleansing should be eligible to vote in Israeli elections.
Indeed, refugee vote appears to be a part and parcel of the conflict resolution template around the world. As long as Palestinian refugees don't get to vote, Israel remains an apartheid state, not a democracy.

Question: What do the place where Muslims live side by side in peace and harmony with their Jewish,Christian,Buddhist or Hindu neighbors and Never Never Land have in common?
Answer: They are both imaginary places
    Conclusion: It speaks for itself

handyhesh, I salute your eloquence. I've been trying to articulate what you've now stated so precisely. With whom are the Israelis going to negotiate? These people's reason for living is the destruction of Israel. Whenever they are asked about rocket-fire into Israel, they clumsily try to slime their way out of a straighforward answer and appeal to the West's humanitarian values. Trust me, they do this while smirking behind their hands. They are simply playing the system.

  • Posted By: handyhesh @ 01/07/2009 9:50:10 PM

Why doesn't Newsweek present an advocate for peace negotiations with al-Qaeda? Because everyone knows that fanatical hate rooted in religious beliefs are uncompromisable.
Hamas is the same ilk as al-Qaeda. Newsweek is good at presenting pics of dead Palestinian children but wont present pics of Palestinian children dressed in military fatigues chanting death to Jews and singing songs of praise to suicide bombers, their role models. Newsweek like other newsmedia outlets are covering up the true nature of Hamas.
Both Hamas and Fatah have inculcated their society from old to the very young with shahada.
For Israel to negotiate with people who only fervently pray for the destruction of Israel is suicidal and laughable

To me this article is just veiled pro-communism shlack. Class warfare and whining about not allowing anti-democracy parties in a democracy. Not allowing communists or anti-Jewish parties into a cabinet or coalition whose purpose is to protect a Jewish state that was created to protect Jews seems a pitiable but reasonable way of doing things.

"If we here in the USA were in the same situation, we would blow the enemy to smithereens" this is just the type of thing the world agrees on. Both Israel and the USA are problems that need fixing. Whether you are a Jew as Goldmel is or a Christian like Bush, both are extremists. The world could use a lot less of these people.

  • Posted By: Goldmel @ 01/06/2009 8:54:47 PM

If we here in the USA were in the same situation, we would blow the enemy to smitherreens, Israel is protecting its people, Arab and Jews alike, they have the right to fight extdremist. Hamas is to blame for the wow they bring there own people, they are cowards, they use the people they are suppose to protect as fodder. I sit here and take in the news each day and hope the insanity will stop, no one in his right mind can watch what is happening to women and children but Hamas is doing this on purpose. Perhaps the people of Palestinian will learn to hate less and elect a government willing to let live. I watch TV news and can't believe the antagonist that are here in this country (USA) who should be educated enough to know that hatred never gain anything but harm. How can they be helping their brothern in Palestine, while they enjoy the freedoms we have here in the United States and cheer maice to there own people. All the people of Israel have ever asked for was peace to live and let live. Until we rid the world of extremist the world will never come to harmony. As a Jew I pray for all people to use their common sense their education to evolve for a better world.

I think it???s absolutely pathetic to sympathize with any Palestinian. Have we forgotten the Palestinian reaction on September 11, 2001? Palestinians from the West Bank to Gaza rushed to the streets CELEBRATING the attacks on the United States by fellow Arab Muslim brothers that killed innocent Americans. Watch the video and judge for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrM0dAFsZ8k

The Palestinian Arabs in Gaza are led by a terrorist organization whose sworn goal is the destruction of Israel. The casualties that result in Gaza, are the curses and maledictions that they asked to be given. They teach their children to hate all Jews, that all Jews must die, and that Israel must be destroyed utterly. They use their women and children as shields, hiding weapons in schools, mosques, and hospitals. They violated every cease fire, taking the time to increase the range and power of their weapons, and then crying for help when Israel fires back in self defense. Note their Arab brothers do not offer them sanctuary in their lands, nor do they offer hundreds of millions in oil money to build infrastructure, save to build more mosques as recruiting centers for suicide bombers and terrorist fighters.
Hamas has declared war on Israel, violating every cease fire ever signed. Hamas has declared war with the stated goal of Israel''s destruction as the only solution, a final solution. Every Arab nation that lends military aid to Hamas, is an accomplice in this attempted genocide, and an accomplice to acts of terror. When genocide is the declared goal of Hamas, all the curses and maledictions that are being poured out, are only what they called upon themselves, and the heads of those who follow them willingly.
