I have a question to all the Palestinian supporters:

What did they think would happen when they sided with, and even elected into government, Hamas, whose own charter states:
    (source:http://www.palestinecenter.org/cpap/documents/charter.html)

1)"Surat Al-Imran (III), verses 109-111 Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors."

Maybe you thought they were talking about Dodgeball, or something, but it seems pretty clear to me that they're talking about a violent takeover.

    2) "Article Eight: The Slogan of the Hamas
Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur???an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief."

At least Hamas has the decency to admit they were created for the sole purpose of "jihad" and "death".

3)"[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement."

Again, at least they have the decency to admit they have no intentions of a finding a peaceful solution.

4)"At the same time, we must be aware of current events, follow the news and study the analyses and commentaries on it, together with drawing plans for the present and the future and examining every phenomenon, so that every Muslim, fighting Jihad, could live out his era aware of his objective, his goals, his way and the things happening round him."

Hmm....Palestinian civilians die and the world rallies to Hamas' cause... (you do the math)

    ***

So I ask you again, what did the Palestinians think would happen when they elected a government with these positions? Did they figure they were just campaign promises to be broken? Why should we feel sorry for you when this is your government's official position?

I can't wait to here the answer (I'm sure it will have 'Zionist' somewhere in it...)

    Love,
    JM

Palestinians and Israelites (radical ones) are Semites with pretty much the same ideology. It is like one is standing in front of a mirror and complaining that reflection is too ugly.

      • Posted By: joe_mama @ 01/06/2009 5:15:14 PM

Would that be the "We're stoopid, but they're stoopider" defense?

        Love,
        JM

        Hamas isn't radical? Lol

Let them fight it out............This has been going on for decades and one side needs to destroy the other.

Is someone confused by my use of "Jehovah God"? I love the title. My God, if you will, is Jesus. He is part of the Triune God, of which Jehovah is also. In fact Jesus claimed to be Jehovah when He said, "before he was, I AM". Tell me, if there are any Jews out there, how do Orthodox Jews refer to God?

  • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 01/06/2009 3:05:12 PM

It seems to me that both sides are enjoying themselves...who am I to stop them?

  • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 01/05/2009 9:03:32 PM

I guess this means when a prisioner,, who BTW have more freedom than those in Gaza,, hits a guard with a spitwad, the proper responce is to level the whole building he resides in.. killing him and everyone else, but they got in our way so what...you want smaller bombs to respond with,no way, the bigger the better, and those in Gaza have none, but the Isrealies do...so what if they love mass murder in the name of GOD...all is well in the world when Isreal dominates in the name of some God...How sad!

    • Posted By: fishoutofwater @ 01/05/2009 9:15:39 PM

      shouldn't that be "pinko"panther?

      • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 01/05/2009 9:49:52 PM

where were you in 83? I was in Beruit digging out 241 Marines, and the Hammas and the Lebonese were FAR more respectful twords us than any Isreali in the region..,my name is Nobody, and spent 4 years from 79-84 in the sand.. so unless you have walked through a camp built to hold 150,000 with 250,000 in it eating slepping in communal crap begging cause the man with the sign was killed so don't try the newsweek version on me. Isreal are nothing more than butchers today...

Yes, continue with your simple and niave belief that the conflict is black and white. Israel is bad and Hamas is good - that is a real productive viewpoint when it comes to finding peace.

It is because of people exactly like you that the conflict has gone on for so long. Thank you for being part of the problem.

everyone has to be proud of something...perhaps displaying your ignorance online for all to see is your source of pride.

          • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 01/06/2009 11:40:01 AM

Having been a Marine is to be very proud. I admire you.

          • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 01/05/2009 11:15:47 PM

My pride comes from being a Marine i guess you should look in the mirror..to figure out your responce

    • Posted By: Dan_the_Man @ 01/05/2009 9:27:58 PM

      Hey Pinky......................:
You forgot to mention that prior, the guard first kick you in the groin untill you black-out!!!!!!!
So, get real....and look at the facts. Hamas was killing Israilies with "home-made" rockets, that is what cause the responce with the F-16, tanks, and troops. What would you do? Lie there and take the beating????? No, you would do anything that you can to make the gurad stop kicking you!!!!

      • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 01/05/2009 10:01:39 PM

5 dead Isrealis 500+ dead in Gaza is not a kick kick in the nuts, it's a slaughterhouse..in the name of GOD..

        • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 01/06/2009 9:13:27 AM

There's a simple solution: Hamas stops firing rockets. Easy.

Attacks can never bring peace. Attacks promote more violance. There is only one KEY SOLUTION OF ALL DISPUTES in the world. Tha is always do JUSTICE even it goes against you. The whole world thinks it is America who is the root cause of of all problems in the world. Attacks on Hamas by Israel are attacks on Hamas by America. America should not back Israel.
There should be JUstice at all forums. As long as there is Security Council in United Nations there can be no peace. If any bo body thinks there would be peace in the world, they are living in the pardise of fools. In United Nations all member staes should have equal rights, equal voice and equal vote. THE NEXT DAY THERE WILL BE PEACE EVERY WHERE IN THE WORLD.. We are living in the darkness of hopes. American backing of Israel has worsened relations with the Muslim world. Muslim world thinks America and West are their enemies. The ball is in the court of America and West.

    • Posted By: coolbreeze2 @ 01/06/2009 1:36:20 AM

No matter what America does or does not do, most arabs think America is resposible for everything that happens. I remember when the Aya-toilet Khomeni blamed the U.S. for an earthquake that happened in Iran. The Middle east will never trust or believe anything America says. They like put munitions under Mosques and have the audacity to bitch when it's destroyed. They like to hide arms under schools, then show film of wounded kids, eliciting sympathy, while making everyone else look like the bad guys. they like putting launchers in residential neighborhoods and cry foul when when civilians are killed...shall I go on? SO, YOU TELL ME, WHO'S THE REAL VILLAIN HERE?

      • Posted By: abbreviate @ 01/06/2009 11:23:28 AM

Indians (Native Americans) trusted Americans. After this nobody should.

        • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 01/06/2009 2:49:34 PM

If you are going to use history as a guide, one can come up with a reason not to trust any ethnic or religions group. We all have skeletons in our "historical" closets. Your way of thinking only contributes to the problem.

  • Posted By: expatincebu @ 01/06/2009 2:40:00 AM

Want peace? Stop supporting the Israeli Nazis. Those pigs have no regard for anyone and live for killing innocent people.

    • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 01/06/2009 9:12:11 AM

Why, yes, because those rockets Hamas fired were loaded with rose petals and candy.

      • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 01/06/2009 2:46:19 PM

... and fired from schools, mosques and hospitals. Hamas is just as responsible for the civilian casualties as Israel.

  • Posted By: Michael II @ 01/06/2009 3:33:09 AM

"With Hamas out of the way, Olmert believes there is a chance that Israel and the Palestinians can put flesh on the outlines of a comprehensive peace plan he negotiated with Abbas over the past year." This almost made me laugh. What comprehensive plan? The peace talks barely removed two roadblocks in a year without once broaching the issues of real importance. Since the elections of 2006, Israel has imprisoned Hamas, continued expanding the settlements, broken the ceasefire and simultaneously made a fool of Abbas. It's hard to take the Israeli spokespeople seriously when they talk about having done everything they could to advance peace. It's a strange peace they are forcing down Palestine's throat, particularly when it involves physically eliminating the main political party.

Read your history, Arafat was offered 95% of what he was asking for, but he couldn't say yes. That sounds pretty close to me.

Admireable, really admireable, the secretary general of the United nations,
by his efforts in regard to the peace in the Middle East,

Security Council, the session of it is expected, has been pressed by him ,
to pressing the members pass a resolution,
so that further bllodshed may be stoped.

Mr. Ban have meeting with President Bush,
and trying convince him so that he may come to the saide of peace,
meetings with other diplomates and representaives is continued by him,
his tireless efforts can not be disregard,
people of world are lookinmg toward him with hopefull sights,
with the grace of God he will successed in his honoureable struggle.

I would like to request Mr.Ban,
by enacting the law, aggression be declared a heinous crime,
if any memeber of the orgnisation voilate the law,or
ignore unanimously passed S.C. liable to punishment,
otherwise, you will see in the future,
more blockade more rocket firing and more loody aggressions.

In the result of aggression ,
a horendous bloody sitiuation has been created,
horrible of innocent childern has died ,dying moment after moment,
this hatefull process must be stoped,
I hope the secretay general would make more efforts in this connection,
    and successd in his mission

The U.N. Secretary General is at best, ineffective. Do not place your desire for peace in such a man. For too long, Palestinians and Jews have looked to others to solve the problem. Others may be able to help, but it is the Palestinians and the Jews who must take the lead in solving the conflict. Sacrifices are required from both sides.

Lynnofpleasanton (Calif?), You are right, God is not happy with us, but not for the reasons you may think. However if we (the US) stands by Israel, Jehovah God will continue to bless us. God has promised to bless those who bless Israel. And, also, it was God who brought back the nation of Israel, just as the Bible stated He would over 2500 years ago. God sent the Israelites on a journey for 1900 years but has now brought them home. God loves His people Israel and will protect them and will also destroy all of Israel's enemies.

Jehovah's Witnesses is a restorationist, millenialist Christian religious movement. Sociologists of religion have classified the group as an Adventist sect. The religion emerged from the Bible Student Movement, founded in the late 19th century by Charles Taze Russell.

According to the Christian myth, you have to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. In other words, Jews will go to hell unless they become Christian.

Dk77, please go read the correct history and NOT your views! Israel never existed till WWII with the help of England and the allies. Dk77, it would be helpful if you read a bit before you post some ideas you have in your mind.

    • Posted By: DK777 @ 01/05/2009 2:15:18 PM

There is only one true and correct history. You must have been brain washed or mind controlled. Everyone knows who has ever studied more than 60 years of history that Israel existed as a nation and people, in the land of Israel before Islam was created. Please, go get a history book that was written back to BC! LOL

      • Posted By: abbreviate @ 01/05/2009 2:49:28 PM

You are right. Israel existed for short period of time some 3000 years ago. And it was not pretty picture then too.

        • Posted By: BiancaL @ 01/05/2009 4:42:32 PM

1200 years is not a "short time".

Also, show me a nation that has a "pretty history"???

          • Posted By: abbreviate @ 01/06/2009 1:43:11 PM

Around 920 BCE, according to the biblical account, Jeroboam led the revolt of the northern tribes, and established the Kingdom of Israel.
Israel fell to the Assyrians in 721 BCE.

Walls can come down. For reference: October 3, 1990. I believe Israel is still open to two states, and I disagree that the US is "in the way of a humanitarian solution". I believe the US is in the way of a genocidal slaughter of Israelites.

  • Posted By: gshatzkes @ 01/06/2009 1:00:19 PM

hamas should stop hiding behind civilians. they set up their bases and shoot their rockets from schools and hospitals.

  • Posted By: lynnofpleasanton @ 01/06/2009 12:54:26 PM

Having recently visited Israel/Palestine, the security "fence" is a wall of concrete almost 3 stories tall and 700 miles long. Israel has created a single state solution with the wall. If Israel is forced (who can make Israel do anything?) to live with the solution they have created, the only way Israel can live with one state, is apartied. As is currently the practice, the Palestinians will have no vote, no property rights, no acces to employment, education etc. The world created this mess in 1948 and the United States stands in the way of a humanitarian solution. We are all God's people and I cannot imagine our Father is happy with us right now. Shame on us all.

"A Plan of Attack For Peace " LOL! ...

  • Posted By: Iam3rd @ 01/06/2009 12:12:32 PM

I agree that having Israel in charge of security for a Palestinian state is not the best idea. However, the Israelis likely do not trust an international force, or even NATO really, to do a fair an adequate job of policing terrorist activities, stopping the smuggling of arms and such, and helping secure borders.

  • Posted By: Iam3rd @ 01/06/2009 11:54:26 AM

Good call JM and Forty4. Again, read de Tocqueville. Gaza has the war it deserves and we in the U.S. have the massive debt we deserve. We all need to take some responsibility.

  • Posted By: thussayeththelord @ 01/06/2009 11:46:27 AM

Abbreviate, that is a very simplistic view. Reread your history. If the various Indian tribes had been united, they could have easily repelled the Europeans. But they were fighting between themselves and the Europeans used this to pit one tribe against another. Therefore the Europeans came out the victors.

    • Posted By: abbreviate @ 01/06/2009 11:51:47 AM

      Exactly my point.
