I don't agree with much. But I do agree with Shanshayla's observation. It's devoid of any political or religious undertones. Refreshing.

The word ???peace??? does not seem to have ever appeared in the Israeli or Palestinian dictionary.

Of course, both Israel and Hamas would ignore UN???s plea to ceasefire. After all, each has to serve its own primary and covert agenda first.

Any way, since when did UN receive the due recognition or respect stipulated by its charter especially from the Middle-east nations?

Don???t you think this is preposterous? On one hand, killings keep perpetuating with minimal compunction; on the other hand, aids of all kinds are frantically waiting to sneak in. On one side, tanks have been lined up ready to fire anytime; on the other side, ambulances are anxiously waiting to pick up the dead and injured.

nbaker17, what can we say about the death of children in Gaza? Are the terriosts using children as shields? Were these children themselves possible future terrorists? Only God knows. Like the Bible says, " it is appoint unto man to die and then the judgment". Only God appoints the day of death. He takes care of the children after death. As an archaeologists having worked in the middle east, I can tell you that many people have occupied that area for thousands of years. Israelites, Akkadians, Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and more. I have lived and worked in Israel and am quite aware of the mess Hamas has made. It does not care about its civilians and fires rockets from schools and private homes, then cries foul when these locations are targeted. Israel does not want to hurt civilians and gives them chances to leave.

My guess is many of you trashing Israel have never set foot in that country and only go by what you hear in the press. You are the same people who forget we displaced hundreds of tribes not too long ago. When you start feeling bad about that I might understand your anger towards Israel but until then you feed only your own agenda.

We would get better reports from Joe the Plumber,who as it occurs,lands at Israels David Ben Gurion airport today for purposes as yet unknown.
These Arab ''Hudnas''[temporary peace in order to refit and rearm], are the problem,along with the gangsters of HAMAS who are also engaged in internecine warfare amongst FATAH and PA factions. Lets get the facts straight.
Gaza is not like Canada or Mexico. The REAL QUESTION SHOULD BE:
What would the Canadian or Mexican people do if their country was completely controlled and blockaded(air, land, and sea) by the US. Would they just sit there and take it. Would they let their people starve and die from lack of medication and power?
Hamas was the democratically elected government. They have a right to defend their people I think. I???ll tell you what I would do if my kids were starving because of another group of people(animals), I would kill as many as I can. I???m sure every person in the world would do the same. These are the facts. I love how the American Jews change the facts to make the Israelis look like the victims and to keep the biggest financial and military aid flowing. I cant wait for the American people; like the rest of the world, to wake up. That is when peace will be achieved in the Middle East.

It is time for the US to take a second look at this so-called "special relationship" between the US and Israel. The Jews have been taking advantage of the Palestinians ever since it was "created." They have stolen land, established illegal settlements, humiliated the Palestinians by requiring them to stand in the sweltering sun and/or freezing rain for hours on end just to get to work. It has built an Apartheid Wall, blockaded the sea ways and they have done everything possible to make life miserable for the Palestinians. These money-grubbing *** have one ultimate purpose: to steal all the land of the Palestinians. Nothing else will satisfy their insatiable greed. Israel is like a cancer that will continue to fester and cause problems to the world at large until it is finally excised from the face of the earth. I agree with AmericanPatriot911 below. I would like to know how the Jews (back in 1948) were able to "take advantage of the Palestinians", when there were more Arabs in the area than Jews. Guess what? The Palestinians are stupid. And they have no discipline. When hatred runs your life, you can't think clearly. This is why they do not prosper --- they cannot create jobs --- they live day-to-day wallowing in their hatred. They live for no other purpose. In due time Jehovah God is stepping in to annihilate the vermin. Praise Yahweh.

A better solution is to return the west bank, minus those territories the Israelis wish to keep to Jordan. return Gaza to Egypt. Let the arabs solve thier own problems and reflect on the fact that despite several wars they are too weak to defeat Israel, and further provocation could lead to further loss of territory. War is risky. the arabs took the risk and come up short. Now they have to pay the price for their defeat.

There have been indications that some groups and Arab nations derive vicarious pleasure in the travails of the Palestinians and this help the festering of the crisis. Much of the human race cannot understand why ancient animosities and grudges dodge the path of peace in the Middle East. Especially on the side of Arabs, Palestinian adults feed their young on an endless dose of hatred. You cannot be seeking to annihilate an animate being and expect it to care less. It must preserve itself, unfortunately, in so doing, it inflicts harm on its 'enemy'. Even more troubling is for a responsible adult to fire shots behinds indefensible children and women and men. The Arab world would need to rethink. But, against all odds, peaceful co-habitation is achievable between Palestine and Israel. A two-state solution remains the best option so far.
