People in those region used to be very smart and studious, every since religion got in the picture they have remained attached to their misconceived beliefs and incapable of achieving peace, looks like the stories of the old testament, everyone was always fighting and killing themselves, what a shame.

This is a surrender piece ...

My guess is that Barak will 'outwit' Iran the same way Clinton 'outwitted' North Korea - give them something they want in exchange for doing what they do more quietly. There will be lots of hand shaking and nice things said, some quiet, and then rockets and mortars will start landing on Israel again.

You piece does not add anything that resembles a solution. Your hidden message is SURRENDER. This conflict has been going on for more than 6 decades and the palestinians have nothing to celebrate from their leaders {Fatah & Hamas}.
I agree that a new approach is needed. A comprehensive peace that improves the well being of the palestinians and the rest of the arab masses is what's needed.

Hamas, Hizbullah and Iran played the game of democracy better than the Bush administration. Can Obama change that? yes by giving mullahs in Tehran an ultimtum and stick to it ...but he won't do that.

      Okay.

      What's an "ultimtum"?

"Hizbullah...held out more than five times longer than all the armies of the Arab world did in 1967."

Yes, but 1967 war was fought in open battlefields, in desert, not in the population centers. That is why, the US did not bother to fight the Japanese in Tokyo. Just nuked two cities and the war ended.
