Further more with their "multi billion dollar" upgrade to ALL digital/elite/up to the minute techy system..why is it so difficult for them to have movies available on pay per view BEFORE you can actually rent them in the video store for LESS and for a longer period of time..that just is nonsense...and a rip off. My husband travels to Chicago and the hotels his Company sends them to, actually have movies by satelite that are still fresh in the theatre...now with such a HIGH TECH system..and the rates they charge..and are paid ...we as customers should benefit with the reward of pay per view actually being a movie that is otherwise inaccessible to someone that IS NOT a TW customer..

I think They need to "tighten" their budgets as said by Pres. Obama just like the rest of us..and freeze the salaries they are paying out to these CEO's at an economic rate that would enable them to adjust their price DOWN to keep their loyal customers..cause lets face it guys..when times get tough..one of the first non essentials that people cut is...yeah you guessed it..CABLE!...Time Warner is just not in the competetive game here and I think they should anny in...what do you think?

Where's Ted Turner when he's really needed. These losses can probably still be laid at the feet of Jerry Levin.

I have to have TW as it is the only high speed internet provider in my area and I need that for work. The internet is the only thing that is consistence with TW. If it was not for this I would have switched to satellite years ago.

I live in Los Angeles, and From my own experience, I can say that TW CABLE INTERNET is the worst. Their cable boxes literally break every month and have to be be replaced after discovering it and waiting for a cable repair man all day. The internet modems break constantly too. And by break, I mean they just die and stop working for no reason. AND the cost they charge for cable and internet is ridicluously high. If my apartment faced south, I would have sattelite by now, but I stay on because I have no other choice.

Finally, their customer service is based on doing as little as possible, passing the buck (usually to India, where people named "Scott" and "Jane" have accents so thick I can't understand them, and they don't care at all about helping me solve my problem). Anyway, the company is too diversified if it actually thought it could run a cable and internet service.

I am just one of the "little people" out here in the real world, but I will tell you that when the TWC guy (usually contract labor) comes to do whatever in the hell they do to change or repair your cable, phone or internet issues, they berate the company they work for mercilessly. I know no one in our city who has ever said one good word about TWC...just wish there was better competition, so we could throw the bums out!

Just look at the comments above, TW. Your problems are real simple. Your pathetic greed is unpalettable to your customers. You brought this all on yourselves.
Also, here is some irony. I work as an IT Manager at a fairly large company. Well, TW Telecomm (a new name they changed to in a lame attempt to cover their asses) called me to try to get my business. I didn't need to be reading this article to know there is no way in hell that company will ever get a penny from me again and I told the lady such. The only reason I am reading this article at all is cause I savor the fall of this parasite. Good. Bye. TW.

You miss one significant and overlooked fact in your article. The "leader" who ran publishing during the emregence of digital media, who ran AOL and publishing duirng critical times that demanded change in pardigms, but who chose to "restructure", refine and "fine tune" these strategically challenged businesses was none other than Don Logan who gets a complete Pass for all the time he spent with these businessees during these cirtical periods and basically did nothing more than rearrange the proverbial deck chairs. A smart man, very analytical mind, but like a professor, could never see more than a few feet in front of his own feet. So much time lost during such a critical period and the company has never been able to catch up to the curve since.

Just like any large company they have taken on too many facets at one time. They concentrate on killing the mom and pop businesses if they cannot buy them and then this creates a lot of problems with the consumers who see them as a monster. Big business needs a reality check and this economy is going to give it to them whether they like it or not. Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall in the board room with all the panicked faces?

When I saw rates advertised at 1/3 of what I was paying I called to get the plan and they said it was ONLY for NEW customers. I quit that day and 10 days later they called me and offered me the plan as a NEW customer. Does this make ANY bit if sense? (I was on vacation during the lull in service so I saved money on both ends!)

how many remakes did they make

    red warning for warner

If Time Warner wonders at all about all the "red ink," perhaps they should take a good look at how many people dumped them because their charges keep going up and up. At the rate they are going, in about five years, they'll only have one customer who gets a bill for a million dollars a month! When there are dozens of "better offers" out there, if you don't get with the program and lower your rates, you go belly up! Welcome to our world folks!

Time Warner lost money? Well boo-freaking-hoo. Cable has always been a parasitic monoploy, no sympathy for that crap. Every price increase is twice the COLA. Might as well be the Mafia.
