How has America gotten herself in this position??? Many blame John McCain...he is partially responsible, but America's Idol worship mentality and the propaganda style MSM coverage are the ultimate culprits. McCain ran a horrible campaign, no doubt...it at times appeared he wanted to lose to "The One"...he refused to go on offense...refused to air negative commercials...refused to tell the truth about Homobama......BUT...the MSM is still to blame for The One's election.

Most Americans come home...eat dinner...watch the local news...then 30 minutes of network news...we have traditionally counted on our journalists to keep us informed...BUT...that is no longer possible....NONE of the MSM's EVER told the avg. person ...who and what Homobama really was...Interviews with "The One" consisted of questions like..."how would your parents feel?"..."Are you really going to install a B-ball court?"..."What was it like being bi-racial?"...""Whats your favorite color?"....SICK>>>SICK>>>SICK>>>and completely irresponsible. There was a time when America could count on her journalists to keep us informed. NO MORE...Now they are cheerleaders and groupies. BUT...Hussein will be revealed...it took WaterGate 2 yrs. to become a real issue.....Hussein will not last that long...as soon as our Homeland is hit (and you can count on it)...the MSM will cover their asses and destroy their own creation. It's sad and wrong...the blood will be on their hands, just as surely as Husseins. Bad way to wise up.

    Allah Akbar Y'all

Come Jan 20...WE ALL LOSE...you know it is true...we have a Crook and a Fraud ready to assume the office of POTUS...he is nasty dirty...guilty of multiple criminal offences...morally bankrupt...and VERY DANGEROUS....Hussein will be a...less than one term Prez....he will leave under a cloud of shame and conspiracy...and who knows...The SCOTUS is reviewing two "natural born" cases Friday and next week. Never know...all that is needed is standing to be acknowledged...he is certainly hiding something...why else spend a MILLION DOLLARS to use legal privacy laws to HIDE his original Birth Certificate??? Maybe his last name is really Smith or Jones...but...we all know...he is NOT Natural Born...it WILL come out....

    NOBAMA!!!

The longer we can keep the socialist Muslim lover antii Anerican out of office the bettter. The country has been the worst shape since Roosevellt with his New Deal in place in 1931 that threw the country into a depression. Aboma gets elected and puts forth his socialsist agenda and the country falls a part, Obome you are going to spend the country into bankrupcy with your stupid ainti American programs. Py the way keep your socialist nose out of the cable business. You have no business telling anyone whether they can broadcast in HD. The people that cant afford it do not deserve it. You socialist just because they cant afford it does not mean that the loyal Amerincans cant have it. Maybe if the government would stay out of the give away programs the free loaders might get off their rears and better themselvess. Starting by kicking the illegals out of the country and closinng the border,

Whether you like or dislike Obama, agree with his agenda, or even support his actions???the WORLD has embraced him???America wasn???t just ready for a change???the WORLD was! Our president had a shoe thrown at him people!!! The WORLD hates our leaders and laughs at our situations???if he was perfect???you still would find fault in him???oh wait???we have gone through that before???he was called Jesus (PLEASE don???t take it that I am comparing Obama to Jesus)!! We haven???t even given the man a chance yet???it???s a no win???if he fails???it will be ???I told you so,??? if he succeeds, it will be another reason to demean him???bottom line???good, bad, or ugly???he will be our president???it???s not like he has any recent models to follow???be it Democratic or Republican???black or white???if our past had been successful or present wouldn't look like this!

We are so quick to point out the faults of other people that we aren???t thankful we even live here. The USA isn???t perfect, but it???s not the hell others are facing???.CUT ON THE TELEVISION and see the disparity in other parts of the world! Bombing, fighting, killing, sex slavery, modern day genocide, and we are still holding on to pre-Civil War thoughts. We are the UNITED States of America whether you like it or not and if you don???t like it leave???oh wait???we can???t because we are not respected or accepted???not because of our color, but because of our country and our freedom of beliefs! We would be dirty, ignorant Americans???don???t believe me???ask a true foreigner who is just ???visiting??? our country and are proud to return home. We aren???t even accepted in countries that don???t have schools, running water, technology, or modern day methods of communicating???we should be viewed with high esteem???but we all know how much respect we get!!!

Did you not watch the news at some of the country town whites that were interviewed (???we???re not voting for him ???cuz we don???t won???t HIS ways for our children and it???s called a white house)!!! ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!!!! (but excuse our mistake for being ignorant and not recognizing that Sarah Palin attended a modern day Klan rally to solicit votes!) Money for education for EVERYONE is SUPPOSED to be the American way???if we read something other than State-level news, we would know that our children (black, white and other) can???t hold a candle to children from other countries???.so let???s not talk about levels of education and who needs it???because WE as a Nation DO NOT MEET!
And acknowledging race does not make you a racist, it???s the separation and unjust behavior that makes you one!! We live in a country that houses all colors and creeds...accept it!!

AGAIN, not all blacks think OBAMA is here to save the black race!!! He is a man first and an elected official who happens to be A DARK COLOR (everything other than white isn???t black)!
And to say blacks made ignorant statements over money after his election is low???Ignorance doesn't have a color and to imply that blacks are ignorant is an IGNORANT statement...lack of knowledge affects all races, colors and incomes???the three black people that you ran into do not reflect an entire race???nor do they speak the heart of the entire culture. Funny how your circle of encounters included meeting ???ignorant??? people???if checks are handed out???blacks without education and income won???t be the only people standing in line???I???m sure???

Yes, he's off to a bumpy start and it's all his fault. He could easily have fixed the Burris problem. Burris after all is of the same race and Blagojavich is of the same state so Obama could have made them do whatever he wanted, but he failed. His recovery plan is a farce. It has yet even to begin to turn the economy around. He has failed to end the war in the Middle East, whereas all previous president-elects have managed to stop fighting there with a few phone calls. Can't you see that all t his carping has gotten completely detached from reality? Obama and the nation faces serious problems but it seems the only possible response from politicians and journalists is to blame him as an inept bungler, unable to grasp their superior wisdom. A depressing commentary on politics and the media.

I also believe in a very limited government and a free market economy.
The government needs to stay out of it.
I do not believe that the goverment owes me anything accept to protect my freedoms.
If I fail I fail. No bail outs.
Politicians don't need to be responsible for advising any business on how to operate. Businessmen with proven records of success can do that. . Let the business figure ways out of trouble. If it fails it fails.
I do not believe government programs can fix social problems. There are so many, now, we don't need more.
Government doesn't need to pay for my education. There are plenty of sources to do that already.
It iis the responsibility of citizens to be a part of the process and educate themselves before casting a vote.
Democrats and Republicans have become big government ho's

To say that Bush never used the race card is quite ironic. It is impossible for anyone being caucasian to understand the ramifications of race in this world. And I agree with rwcapra we SHOULD stop using it but it is entwined into every stitch of fabric of the system; and by system, I mean education, business, criminal justice, and everyday life. Race is a factor that will never disappear... race is America....

    aspic ho:
Yet you don't have any problem that Karl Rove did that for Bush? Even in his own party? For someone who was nominated in 2008? If McCain was so horrible he couldn't beat a perceived simpleton in 2000, why did the GOP support him now. It is quite disingenuous to point out all of the faults of the other side when the finger pointers are doing the same thing. They all spin, they all stretch the truth, and they all look for a catchphrase to ignite the firestorm of the masses.

When you state your beliefs, I agree with them. Yet I would argue that the GOP does not stand for this. The dems don't either but the GOP ship has to be fixed first before it can sail. Government regulations are bad, but look what the lack of oversight left! I have heard several times that the Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae portion of the mess was passed under a Democrat and this is true. But how does that change the fact that it was deregulation? Are you saying that GOP deregulation of FM/FM would have worked but because it was Clinton who signed the bill (from a GOP Congress recall) it failed? That this was the single pieces that lead to all of the turmoil? This system needs to be adjusted to give the required oversight (because look at Enron, et al, self regulation DOES NOT WORK) without overburdening the businessman. This is not done by pointing out the weakness of the other side, all of which may be true, but by coming up with pragmatic compromise that addresses the short comings of both approaches.

The American people who voted for him (NOT ME) will get what they asked for! This man will be the worst down fall for us all (except those who are like him). One thing that has been brought about this historical election is that not ONE black person in America should ever be able to use the race card from now on. By him being elected they are no longer entitled to sit back and see what they can get for free just because they are black. There is no longer an excuse, get your butt up and go to school and work for it just like we all have for years!

      • Posted By: johnamaxon @ 01/09/2009 11:24:40 AM

Blacks have never gotten anything for free. Look at the job industry. Who has all the jobs? The good paying jobs? Whites. When you look at companies, they may have 1 or 2 Blacks, but the the majority are white except in areas such as custodians, laborers, and other low paying jobs. Whites have the higher paying jobs in supervision, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, and etc. So, to make the statement that because Obama being elected the 1st Black President makes the playing field even is not true. True, America voted for Obama because they had no where else to turn to.Regardless of who we elected, the country can only go up, it's at rock bottom now.

  • Posted By: aspic ho @ 01/09/2009 11:12:35 AM

Obama has no character and that makes him weak. He has no sense of self, only the persona he created to get elected. He simply exploited the ignorant, unoiformed masses to get elected. His campaign had no substance and neither does he. All he had to do was say free, hope, change over and over. He knew his audience. The majority of people who voted for him thought Congress was controlled by Republicans. When asked who Nancy Palosi was, they could not answer. Many African Americans believe that they got him elected. They were certain that he would be killed because whites would never accept an African American president. His campaign staff played on irrational fears, stereotypes and outrageous myths that flourish in many African American communities. For example; Big Red makes black men sterile, the ship pictured on the Snapple bottle is a slave ship-don't drink it because Snapple is racist. It is sad that many people believe such things without question and even worse tto perpetuate them. That is where the word hope comes in-there is now hope that Obama will put an end to all of it. How dispicable, to use fear mongering to win a campaign. Racism does exist, no need to make things worse. It is sad, but I realize that many people want to believe certain things no matter how much evidence there might bed to the contrary. I believe that individuals, not government are the most effective catalyst for change. I am an American, Ido not believe the goverment owes me anything. I believe I know what's best for me, not government, I believe I can do a better job of managing my moey that the government. Give me what you take out in Social Security, I'll invest it wisely. If I don't it's my fault, I will not demand a bailout. If I open a business and it fails it's not the goverment's responsibilty to bail me out. Please stop making it hard fr me to open my own business by demanding that I comply with 1,000 different regulations. Let me flourish in te business world by leaving me alone. I want to buy an old warehouse and turn it into an apartment complex. Don't make it impossible for me to do that. Let the free market economy work, that is what we are, we are not supposed to socialists. Remember government, you represent me and I intend to do my part to remind you of that.. I

I believe in small, responsible Government. I believe in personal liberties. I don't believe it is the job of the Government to redistribute the wealth. I don't believe it is the job of the American military to do anything but protect OUR democracy. All those things used to be what Republicans believed in, too.

But look at the GOP now. Record spending, but providing no source to pay for it, somebody will have to eventually. Personal liberties stripped like we were Europe. Redistributing $350,000,000,000 worth of wealth (and redistributing it to people who have money. This is REVERSE SOCIALISM). Iraq.

It is really embarrassing as a Non-neo-con to read what people like MegaWhy say and realize I am lumped in with them. I still can't believe after the Medicare handouts and the various bailouts someone has the balls to call the Democrats socialists. I have seen that a lot with the so-called neo-cons, absolutely no connection with reality. The whole Karl Rove belief that if you say something enough times it is true has really worked on the whole bunch of them. They need to be like Alan Greenspan. A long time proponent of deregulation, in the aftermath of the current situation, he has stated that maybe he was wrong about some things. We need a little more objective thinking rather than ideologues.

Obama won, let's see what happens and go from there. Maybe this will shake some of the riff raff from the GOP and we can have a good candidate, like McCain in 2000 (who only lost because he was slandered by Karl Rove in South Carolina!)

I try not to be racist. However I will be the first to admit that when something happens to me directly by a person of color, it trickles down. As I rode the bus on election day, there was a group of afro-americans in the back of the bus being very boistrous. They were talking about having voted for Obama and they could hardly wait for their $1000. One man said to them. What? You're not immediatley going to get a check. One lady said, " What you mean? I voted for Bama and now I ain't gonna get my $1000 in January?" (I find it hard to write her words exactly in a quote. I don't quite understand the lingo she used) Huh? Then on the weekend I was walking into Micro Station to buy some computer supplies, as I walked through the parking lot, a man and wife with their small child were backing out of their parking spot. I stopped so they could back out. The driver (the man) then opened his window and threw onto the ground, a McDonalds bag with all of their garbage in it. I said immediately to him "That is not a garbage can". He then said to me "Oh yeah, white bitch, pick it up yourself, that why Obama President." My blood pressure rose, and my mind went wild with disgust, starting to tie in, every negative experience that I've had with Obama supporters, or just Obama voters, who want what he promised in his campaign. There is quite a difference between the two. Supporters are fully informed. Voters are incredibly uninformed. I fear Obama had more of the latter. That why Obama President? No wonder Obama wants to spend so much money on education. Let him.

Oh right Megawhy....the spending and megadebt is certainly a concern under Obama because we know how fiscally conservative Bush was. He went from a huge budget SURPLUS in 2000 to a half trillion budget DEFICIT in 2008. Thus leaving Obama with the legacy of starting his presidency forced into trillion dollar budget deficits for years to come due to Bush's ignorance and arrogance and downright incompetency. Obama could TRY to destroy this country and not do a fraction of the damage Bush has done the last 8 years. Bush created more national debt in EIGHT years then the COMBINED national debt of the last 200 years--truly unimaginable isn't it? But hey..you idiot Republicans voted him back in a 2nd time, I hope it was worth losing your life savings over.

You have left yourself open to riducule in your posting. First of all, putting the word conservative in any sentance, paragraph or article in regards to Bush is not only inaccurate, but a insult to the real conservatives in the U.S. Bush is and never was a conservative. He was always a Republican moderate. Secondly, any and all reference to deficits being run-up by Bush is so misguided and naive that it glaringly demonstrates your status in the sheeple herd that the American media has created. As the President Bush has submitted his budget year after year. He doesn't approve it. No President has ever approved his own budget. Congress as a whole (both Republican and Democrats) have "led" us into the problems we are facing now. All of us and them share in the blame. Them for their utter greed and imorality, and us for continuing to reelect them. Believe me when I tell you that I am no fan of Bush. I never thought of him as even a good President. Did I think we should have gone into Iraq when we did, no. Do I believe we would have gone in eventually, absolutely. But, that being said, once we went in we needed to get the job done right and not leave the people of Iraq to the wolves. There are many things that have come to light in the past few months that have made me admire Bush for quietly contacting EVERY family of a fallen warrior. I like to think that he would have contacted my wife if I fell when I was over there as I would have gladly shook his hand in the hospital had I been wounded. The man has been the best thing for he overall health of Africa by increasing aid to Africa TENFOLD. He has not been making a big deal about removing the 500 metric tons of discovered yellowcake from Iraq which, in my view, falls well within the realm of a "weapon of mass destruction" had it fell into the hands of al Qaida. Just a 50 gallon drum of yellowcake exploded in Manhattan would render most of it uninhabitable for something like 10K years. You don't have to like Bush as the outgoing President, but I believe now that most of his critics will not be 'man' enough to admit their ignorance when more about what he did behind the scenes is known. IF THE AMERICAN MEDIA ALLOWS IT TO LEAK OUT. By their conduct over the past two years, they have become the biggest threat to our freedom.

Thank you for your kind reply. By the way, I didn't lose anything last year I made money, because I don't listen to the Media. Mr. Obama has his chance, I hope he is successful. However, his speech yesterday gave me pause. It was the worst speech I have ever heard from a leader. All negative, no hope, and no details. By the way, the Democratic Congress is directly responsible for this mess. Also who said I thought George Bush did a great job? He didn't.

Hoe about, stop spending money, instead of throwing bad money, at bad debt. Bring our military home. Seal our borders, and coast. Kick every non US citizen out of this country. This will cut billons of spending on no tax payers. It will take care of the billons we spend on hardoring terrorists, then trying to keep track of the activities. Stop all importing. The US has the capability of manufacturing and producing, all that it needs. This will open up all the plants, and jobs, that were lost, by the outsorcing the Clinton administration promoited. Every penny spent will go right back into the US economy. We owe the rest of the world nothing. We have enough of our own starving, needy, families, to take care of. We need to demand that our government/president, become the PUBLIC sevant, that the constitution describes, and not the self serving, egomaniac, we have tolerated in the past.
