The collective "we" made this bed but instead of laying in it we want to borrow money we will never be able to repay so that "we" do not have to suffer the consquences of our actions. Our grandchildren will look back in scorn on our lack of responsibility and selfishness. They will write checks to the tax man while cursing the name Obama.

This old bag really needs to be driven to the Dog Track, and left there. These fawning, putrid articles, about a guy that's never DONE anything, are the reason they make Barf Bags. I wouldn't write too many of these if I were you, Eleanor. Too many orgasms, at your age, might not be a good idea. Pathetic.

While the President has the country's hope for the future up for the first time in years how about going one step farther and putting the huge amount of talent this country possesses for innovation, entrepreneurship, negotiation and financial accumen to work outside this country. Since we don't have enough cabinet posts for everyone how about a strike force specifically designede to put out fires around the world! We have the awesome talents od Gen Colin Powell, Bill clinton, Mike Bloomberg, Condoleza Rice and Warren Buffett to name just a few, sitting on the sidelines wasting their talents. If we truly want to do something to regain our stature and at the same time truly bring light to the many dark spots afflicting this world ( To many for any one person to handle) lets put some of these awesome talents to use. This would be a presedential strike force that could be dispatched around the world to try to slove long festering problems which would at least show that we are truly interested in helping and not just providing the usual lip service!

The high cost of fuel this past year did serious damage to our economy and society. After a brief reprieve gas prices are inching back up again. Our nation should not allow other nations to have such power over us and our economy . We have so much available to us in the way of technology and free sources of energy. WE seriously need to get on with becoming an energy independent nation. We are spending billions upon billions in bail out dollars. Why not spend some of those billions in getting alternative energy projects set up. We could create clean cheap energy, millions of badly needed new green jobs and lessen our dependence on foreign oil all in one fell swoop. I just read an eye opening book by Jeff Wilson called The Manhattan Project of 2009. It would cost the equivalent of 60 cents per gallon to drive and charge an electric car.If all gasoline cars, trucks, and SUV's instead had plug-in electric drive trains, the amount of electricity needed to replace gasoline is about equal to the estimated wind energy potential of the state of North Dakota. Why don't we use some of the billions in bail out money to bail us out of our dependence on foreign oil? This past year the high cost of fuel so seriously damaged our economy and society that the ripple effects will be felt for years to come. www.themanhattanprojectof2009.com
