With their arrogant, sub-human attitude towards Palestinians and other Arabs, and now the evidence of what the militarists/Zionists of Israel are willing to do, even to civilians, to meet their goals, it becomes clear that one of the greatest dangers Sarkozy, Obama, and the world community face is that these same people have nuclear weapons.

What this world need right now it's not a song, but a lesson in reality, don't do to others you would not like someone to do to you. Israel is encouraged to commit these crimes, and as long as they are getting free money, and free arms, why should they stop.

America has 300 Million lives they can afford to lose in the desert of the Arab world, and plenty of WMD.

The Middle East is seething with crisis after crisis. Few people realize the true significance of the turmoil. They seem to have no conception of the danger it threatens and endanger the whole world. It's time to wake up to the facts and stop the nonsense. If these Europeans in Israel knew it was Arabs that live in that area and if they don't like Arabs they should leave their country, they have no business out ther what so ever.

In New York city years ago they had a sign in the subway that says" you don't have to be jewish to eat rye bread". The same apply to Israel. You don't have to be jewish to live in Israel, and you can be jewish and disagree with the Israeli government. Therefore the Israeli government doesn't represent the jewish people in general. The government of Israel is in transition right now, Olmert is leaving office, and you have bunch of politicians that wants his job. The outcome of the Gaza offensive will result on who is the next prime minister. If Israel is a democracy, they sure don't practice it. If it was me I let them all fight it, Hamas has nothing to lose. Israel will defeat itself, the government probably will collapse, and whoever going to salvage what's left out of the Israeli government will have to deal with Hamas, the same group that they called a terrorist organization, and that they will never deal with. For the Palestinians they just have to be patient.

As a Christian & a Jew, I wonder what BUSH & EHUD BARAK will tell God, when they die?

USA have to stop Israeli's agression to Palestine what ever their done isnt justice anymore, that is massacre of holocaust whered very much civilians killed especialy kids, womens and old people whom have no responsible rockets stricking israeli's area. Sarkozy needs to go back home to his wife in France. Think about bringing back the 4 week French vacation.

It is very hard to stop two people from fighting if they both want to fight and sit right next to each other. The same is true for countries. And America to the Rescue hasn't had a happy ending in the Middle East since Herbert Walker was president (and as often occurs, it was ruined by a poorly executed sequel).

As to Sarkozy wanting peace in the Middle East so he can be said to have been the bringer of peace, I remember the same charge being leveled against Clinton. I'm sure both charges are true to a degree, but who gives a damn? Clinton pursued peace with such doggedness that he essentially chained together so many short lulls in the violence that they became a long lull in the violence.

I believe that the axiom goes that the Arabs "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity", (not including Israel) and that yours is a misquote. It is important to note since Israel has been present and committed to dialogue throughout the last 2 decades, at least, and has committed itself to the process of achieving peace in the region. Terrorist and violent ideology is what is preventing progress in the Middle East and until the international community comes to grips with this and upholds its responsibility to outwardly condemn and reject such ideologies, there can be no substantial changes. Another important point is that Israel has an established peace between Egypt and Jordan and has an excellent record of upholding its commitments to the terms that it has signed on, whereas current events show an Arab population that rejects progress towards lasting peace and a continuation of violence. It's time that the real facts are dealt with so that true peace and tranquility for all people is achieved.

What the hell,maybe the french can talk some sense into these two.I doubt it but anything is possible.

The Napoleon comparison isn't all that far from accurate really. They both wanted to bring a perceived lost glory back to France, even if it means dragging the people kicking and screaming. Napoleon did it through military conquest, and Sarkozy is trying to do it by instituting a lot of rapid-fire and radical reforms in France, as well as keeping himself in the international spotlight as much as possible...which is as much for his own glorification as for that of France. I would say he has seized especially upon this issue in order to draw attention away from the fact that he has just forfeited his European presidency to the Czechs, and bring it back on himself. I think he genuinely wants to help and believes he can solve this problem, but his desire, as the article says, for "media" results will hamer that. He may help achieve an end to the current fighting, but the larger EU and certainly the US need to become involved for anything to truly be solved.
